I'm going to propose a setting. That okay?
I was thinking, a museum at midnight.
Dove sat amazement as she stared at the incredibly huge statue. It was breathtaking, she never thought she'd ever see it in person. The total silence of the museum was a comfort as Dove sat down and opened her book, to the page where she'd seen a photo of the statue and started to read. In 1412, a group of pirates uncovered what is now known as death's fury, legend says that the statue drove the pirates mad, as they killed themselves by jumping in the water. The statue was claimed by Spain and then bought at numerous auctions by mysterious owners who all died within months of owning the statue. Legend says that on a blood moon, the statue rises if called by an ancient script and will do whoever awakened it's bidding. The ancient script has been lost in time, and the statue has resided at the Faerie Institute of Cursed Items for 10 years.
Maddie leaned against the pole at the back of the museum. She through her dagger she managed to sneak into the museum up and down catching it every time. She rolled her eyes at the girl starting at the statue. She put her dagger back an walked past her going to look at some of the mythology statues.
Natalie and Midnight wandered through the museum. It was midnight, so not many people were there. But, thanks to her aunt, the museum was open 24/7 for teens and occasionally adults. She spotted a girl around her age reading on a bench. She walked up to the girl. "Is that book any good?" She asked softly.
Maddie made another eye roll and wen back to throwing her dagger. She missed and it crashed against the ground. she picked it up and hid it hoping no one saw. A rookie error she was better then that.
Dove nearly died of terror, but she regained her composure, "Salutations, as for your inquiry, my opuscule is incredibly scintillating."
(Salutations: hello, hi
inquiry: question
opuscule: a small work of literature
scintillating: interesting)
Maddie over heard the girl speaking and was really confused. she scaled the pole and got a birds eyes view of the book.
Dove went on reading her book and tried to ignore the people behind her. Especially the person with the dagger. Her bright blue eyes scanned the book and she was filled with a sense of gratification.
“Why you like reading” I asked her jumping down in front of her.
