He nestled himself on the top shelf of the janitors closet, playing with the ends of his sweater sleeves again. "Just my luck, isn't it?" He mumbled, swinging his feet childishly.
He nestled himself on the top shelf of the janitors closet, playing with the ends of his sweater sleeves again. "Just my luck, isn't it?" He mumbled, swinging his feet childishly.
He walked around the building, trying to call out to him without bringing too much attention to himself. "Ghost guy?" He said. "Hey man, where'd you run off to?"
He heard someone outside, but chose to ignore it. He hummed softly to himself, a random old lullaby his mother used to sing. "The old mans been stealin' she's holdin' the grievance for hundred odd years we all keep believin' that history repeats…"
He heard a faint humming from inside the library. There was a window nearby and he tapped it. "Ghost boy? Is that you?" he asked, feeling a bit guilty for referring to him as that, but he didn't know his name.
He looked up. "Huh?" He asked, floating down. He stuck his head out the door. "Yes?"
"Hey," Julian said, looking up at him. He got a little dizzy at the sight of him, and he wasn't sure what to say now that he had actually found the guy. He looked around before speaking again. "So … were you being serious earlier?"
He nodded, stepping out. "I'm sorry. I didn't realize you could see me." He said, looking down.
"That's okay, I can understand that," Julian said, leaning against the side of the building. "That still doesn't entirely explain why you were following me, though."
He shrugged. "I just… always thought ghost were supposed to haunt someone."
"So why did you choose me?" He asked, looking off to the side.
"U-umm…" He blushed, looking away.
Julian looked up at him, noticing the blush on his face. He felt himself smile a little bit. "Nevermind, I can ask a different question. What's your name?"
"D-Denzel." He said, looking up at him.
"I'm Julian," he said, reaching out to shake his hand. "Wait, can we touch? Is that even possible?"
"I… have no clue. I never really tried." He said, before reaching out his own hand. "Worth a shot though, I guess…"
(so what are we gonna do at this point? is he just going to pass through or are they going to shake hands?)
((Shake hands? Idk whichever you want I guess))
(kk)
Julian shrugged before shaking Denzel's hand. He felt relieved when he was able to touch him and not pass through him completely. He knew he was supposed to be dead, but it made the guy seem a little more human.
He blinked in confusion, but shook his hand none the less. "Didn't think that would work, honestly."
"Yeah, I wasn't sure either," he said, dropping his hand. "So how long have you been like this?"
"About…" He wracked his brain. "Three years now?"
"Damn," Julian said softly, looking down at the ground. "Do you age?"
He shook his head. "Not anymore. Why?" He asked, tilting his head to the side.
"Just curious, I guess," he admitted. "I don't know things work after you… die."
"I'm not really the best to ask." He said softly. "I don't really know much myself."
