"Hmm… interesting challenge." Beau considered for a moment. "Alrighty. 'I swear to God'. Lord's name in vain, gottem." He clicked his tongue and did jazz hands. "I was considering murder, but you know. Haven't got a clue where your knives are." He said in a (very obviously) joking tone.
Axtin narrowed his eyes at the angel before saying, "You could have asked." Shrugging, he suppose Beau did pass the challenge. It didn't stop him from pouting a tad.
"Aww com'on that was no fun," Cicada grumbled a bit, "I call for something a little more extreme than that. Besides that one is practically obsolete now a days with all the 'Oh my God's."
"Oh, fiiiiine. I'll think of something else." Beau thought for another few seconds before something seemed to come to him. He silently walked up to Axtin and stole his phone before I saying. "I did not just steal your phone." He grinned. "There's two more! Don't steal, and don't lie." He tossed Axtin's phone back over to him.
"More boring ones," Cicada muttered, "But fine! You've broken your commandments, your in the clear."
Beau grinned, placing his hands on his hips. "Great! I mean, the main severe one is don't kill, but like… I feel like that's a bit extreme, no? I'd rather not kill any of y'all, thank you very much."
"I get that," Cicada sighed, "But there were so many options, and you picked the boring ones."
Beau shrugged a bit. "Can't commit adultery since I'm not married or anything, it's not Sunday so I can't dishonor the Sabbath, I can't exactly make an idol right now… I mean, I would, but the interesting ones aren't currently possible."
"Also, the murder didn't necessarily have to be one of us," Axtin added with a smirk. "An idol can be anything, a couch, the air… a person… or anything really," he continued, gesturing with his hands as he spoke.
(I almost made him say: Frick the sabbath lolll but not use frick XD)
"Really? You want me to worship your couch?" Beau giggled a bit, but quickly tried to stop. He had always hated his laugh.
(Axtin: Frick the sabbath
Beau: Hey I get the whole commandment thing but this just seems mean lmao)
Axtin shrugged, he had been about to reply when his cheeks flushed a tad at the angel's laugh. It was light and bubbly, something he was unused to hearing. There was nothing he could compare it to. It was oddly… nice? Nearly rolling his eyes at his behavior, he resumed his usual demeanor.
"I was simply giving you a few choices," he replied. Speaking of nice, he was starting to miss the warm presence of Aria. She might have been feisty, but still adorably so.
(nearly forgot who he's shipped with in this whoopsssss)
(Aa sorry my replies aren't longer qvq)
Beau noticed that Axtin had spaced out and waited a few seconds before questioning him. "Hey, you still there? Whatcha thinkin' about?" He waved his hand a bit to get Axtin's attention.
(it's ok, mine might be shorter now cause it's late and i'm sleepy)
"It doesn't concern you," the male replied, tone even. Axtin felt stupid for thinking about the other in such a way. Not that he was straight by any means. Hell, he dated another demon who was male quite seriously some time ago. Despite proving himself, Beau was still an angel. Ridding the awkward silence, he turned to Cicada again. "Anyways, you've never told me what's been going on since you've been away."
(Yeah it's like, 1:00 am for me lol)
Beau didn't believe Axtin for a second, but decided to back off and wait for Cicada's answer.
“Oh, ya know. The usual,” Cicada shrugged, “Kill some angels, scare some humans, burn a couple cities down, just everyday things for me in the human world. The war’s been getting worse though. We’ve lost quite a few areas due to either human rebellion or angel attacks. Currently we’re on the defensive and that’s not a good thing.”
Beau looked up when she said 'killing angels', but didn't say anything about it. He did, however, look nervous and fold his wings behind his back.
"You forget I've seen it myself. In fact, Aria came from one of those cities. Almost got crushed by a building," he said, thinking back to the moment where the mortal lost her motivation to run from him. (Not in a hopeless way.) Choosing safety and comfort was obviously the better option. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Beau shift uncomfortably. He returned his focus on Cicada instead however. "However, it's good to know you've not lost that fighting spirit of yours," the demon added with a grin.
Cicada grinned back at him, "Like I would. I've been fighting since the day I was damned to this place, I'm not stopping now."
"Now that's the girl I remember," he said cheerily, grinning. He nudged her playfully like he always used to. It used to be his way of trying getting a laugh out of her, but sometimes ended in a harder shove back. Still worth it. It wasn't as if demons were extremely close like humans needed to be. They had moments though
Cicada shoved him back as she chuckled, "I hope so. I shouldn't have changed that much since we last talked."
"That's fair," Axtin replied as he regained his footing. He grinned back at his friend happily. It was kind of a relief knowing that, as previously said, not much had changed.
Cicada grinned back her teeth slightly flashing, "How have you been? Any news from your end of life?"
