Farah couldn't help but arch her eyebrows when Mila addressed her by her first name, but she let it slide. It was only the first day after all. And the girl knew better. "I'm doing well also, thank you. Have you been practicing your abilities over the summer recess like we discussed at the end of last term?"

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Mila immediately blushed when she realized her slip up. She didn't know why she had used her first name… Other than the possibility that she had briefly forgotten her last name. “Yes ma’am, I have been practicing.” she nodded, brushing her hair down to make sure none were sticking up because of her embarrassment. “And I believe that I’ve made some progress.”

A glint of pride flashed through Farah's eyes as she nodded her approval, and a warm, genuine smile decorated her features. "Very good. I look forward to seeing the results of your dedication in the Stone Circle tomorrow with the rest of the second years."

(The Stone Circle is a conduit to the magic of the land that powers everything at Alfea, and it's a place where magic is magnified, so it's easier for fairies to channel.)

“Thank you, ma’am.” Mila smiled back, relaxing a bit under Headmistress Dowling’s gaze. “I’m looking forward to that too.” she admitted. It was always a thrill to be in the Stone Circle just because of the simplicity it gave to using her magic. She doubted she was the only one who felt that way but, even though it was still years away for her, the young fairy was eager for the day she could use her magic that easily without it. Just like she believed Ms. Dowling could.

"Then I shall see you there," Farah replied simply. Her eyes broke from Mila's temporarily to glance around the courtyard. She noted Saul speaking with some Specialist second years, and she smiled subtly. "Remind me…" she added, looking back at Mila. "Who are your suite mates for this semester?"

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Mila nodded and let out a calm breath when it seemed like the conversation was over. It wasn't that she disliked talking with Ms. Dowling, but perhaps it was the authority she maintained that made her just a bit nervous. Though she quickly perked up at the question. “Oh. Umm, unfortunately the only one I know for sure is a light fairy named Asra.” she answered. The only reason she remembered her was because they had a history class together at the end of last year.

Farah nodded at Mila's response. Those two personalities will be interesting in a suite together, she couldn't help but think, remembering the times she'd worked with Asra last year as well. She glanced back at Saúl and noticed him motion for her to come over. "It was very nice talking to you again, Mila, but I'm afraid I have to go," Farah kindly wrapped their conversation up. "I wouldn't want to keep you from moving in and getting to know your suite mates better. I'll see you tomorrow at the Stone Circle. And do remind Asra. If she hasn't changed, and I remember correctly from last term, she has a slight tendency to be a bit flighty and forgetful."

(Geez this took me a while!)
Name: Nissa Underwood
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Year: 2
Species: Fairy
Fairy Type/Specialist: Fire
Appearance: Nissa is about average height, with a slender but athletic build. She has long red-pink hair, golden eyes, and brown skin with freckles across her nose and shoulders.
Personality: Nissa is emotionally driven and a bit reckless. She's fun-loving and can be sarcastic at times, but she's compassionate and knows when to get serious. Nissa is one of the most stubborn, hard-working fairies you'll ever meet, and she's certainly not one to back down from a fight.
Abilities: Pyrokenesis, fire/heat resistance
Strengths: She never gives up, and she believes that everyone deserves a second chance. She has a knack for puzzles and riddles, and an uncanny talent for getting out of tough situations.
Weaknesses: Her emotions often get the better of her, and she doesn't always think things through. She tends to get ahead of herself from time to time.

“Thank you. It was nice talking with you too, Headmistress Dowling.” she smiled back, making sure to correct her earlier mistake. “I’ll remind her.” Mila agreed as she remembered a couple brief instances where she had seen Asra’s forgetfulness in class. Fortunately, it didn't seem too bad… But it might be different when you were living with her.

@PastelTart

Nissa made her way through the bustling students, remembering how in her first year she had nearly set fire to the grounds. On accident, of course, but still. Definitely something I need to work on. She thought, just before she ran straight into someone, letting out a yelp as she nearly fell to the ground. "Sorry! Sorry, are you-" She cut off, her eyes widening as she realized who she had run into. "Headmistress Dowling!" She exclaimed, "I am so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going and…are you alright?" Nissa tucked her hair behind her ear sheepishly.

Farah gasped and took a sharp step back as a hurrying student ran almost directly into her. If she didn't know the girl, Farah would have thought that she did it on purpose. But the red-pink hair was a brutal indicator, and the girl's headstrong personality was identical to how Farah remembered it. "It's alright, Nissa, I'm fine," she replied with a polite, but fleeting smile, dusting the arm of her coat off gently.

(By the way, love Nissa! Just so you know, though, Alfea fairies don't have wings.)

@PastelTart

(Oh woops)

Nissa sighed in relief, smiling at the woman in front of her. "Well, I'm just gonna go find my dorm," She said, turning to walk away, only to almost run into an older student. "Sorry!" She called, ignoring the glare sent back at her.

@emilyevewrites group

Farah shook her head at the girl as she almost ran into someone else. "Careful, Nissa. Watch where you're going," she remarked as she made her way the opposite direction as the students – away from the school and towards Saúl.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Mila sighed softly as she watched that whole interaction. Obviously, she had been concerned about Headmistress Dowling but it seemed pointless to echo the other girl's question. Once she was sure that no one was hurt, she just waited for the redhead to leave before heading over to the dorms herself so she didn't get run over… At least by Nissa. There were still plenty of opportunities for that to happen.

@emilyevewrites group

(If you wanted just to do something simple, you could have her approach Farah to talk to her or ask her a question or something like that before she gets to Saúl.)

@RiverTheSeawing

Aiya went to stand next to Mila. "She's clumsy," she said to Mila, grinning grimly at Nissa, "huh?" Something about her is naturally off, but she has such a good reputation people tend to ignore it. Despite this, she seems malevolent on this specific day; she seems to long to see Nissa get hurt. Whatever she wants, it is no doubt that she won't tell anyone. She stares back at Mila, waiting for her reply with anticipation shining in her eyes.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Mila jumped a little when this new fairy seemingly appeared next to her and started talking. “Oh… Well, I guess so. But it's not the worst thing she could be.” she offered, since she didn't recognize either the woman next to her or Nissa. “Especially on the first day back. It could just be nerves.”

Asra was rather excited for the upcoming year at Alfea. She had enjoyed her previous year there, though there was the occasional getting embarrassed for being super forgetful. Even so, she was looking forward to her second year. Maybe she'd get a chance to make up for everything that happened in the year prior if she was lucky. She saw Headmistress Dowling as she walked by, and she decided to talk to her about the school year.

"Hey!" Despite this being a more formal conversation, her voice had the same energy as it would have as if she was talking to friends. She couldn't do much about the tone of her voice when she was excited. "I was wondering, what's in store for my second year here? I know it's a stupid question, but I tend to forget about things…"

@emilyevewrites group

Farah sighed under her breath as another student approached her. She made brief eye contact with Saúl – who she noticed was smirking in amusement, much to her chagrin – and faced the student with a formal smile. She recognized the girl as Asra, who she had just been speaking with Mila about. Flighty and forgetful, she'd said then, and it didn't surprise her to see not much had changed. But if she remembered correctly, this was the girl who had been a part of several embarrassing scenarios last term, so Farah found herself feeling sympathy for her.

"Hello, Asra," she spared a brief greeting, especially since Asra had simply dived right into the conversation. "Second years build on the powers learned in your first year, experimenting more across your particular element, but some of the more advanced second years have potential to begin developing other elemental abilities. However, I don't believe that will be the case for anyone this year." She realized that she was essentially reciting her speech for the second years gathering tomorrow in the Stone Circle, so she stopped herself.

@heeey-bitchhhhhhhhhhh

Asra nodded as she listened to the headmistress, trying to make some mental notes to herself to work on remembering important things. She could easily remember all the embarrassing moments where she forgot something important and made a fool of herself in front of everyone during the previous year, yet she could barely remember quite a lot of what she was learning in class. She generally had a bit of trouble paying attention, which contributed to all of this.

After a moment, she spoke. "Thank you, Headmistress." Her tone was much calmer and more formal as she said this. Memories of the prior school year had removed a lot of the excitement, so there was no longer an overwhelming amount of energy in her tone. "Anyways, I best be on my way. I don't want to bother you." She knew she was probably being a bother, so she walked away, ending the brief conversation.

@emilyevewrites group

Farah's mouth hung open slightly as Asra simply turned and walked away. After a moment, she shook her head with a smile and made her way over to Saúl, who was still wearing the same smug expression as earlier.

"Ms. Dowling, you're very popular," he teased.

She tilted her head and narrowed her eyes. "Mr. Silva, you may need to begin searching for other forms of employment."

Saúl grinned. "I'm just glad you could spare a moment of your busy day to chat with me."

This made Farah roll her eyes. "You were the one who wanted to talk to me."

"Was I?" He feigned thinking in a very exaggerated motion, which was so unlike him that it caused Farah's stoic composure to break into a genuine smile.

"You are infuriating," she snapped, but the playful glint in her eyes gave her away. With Saúl, she felt like she was a teenager again.

(Do you guys want to do a bit of getting to know each other in the dorm? Maybe one of them could have a private lesson with Farah once they're all settled? Something like that before we go to classes/the Stone Circle the next day)
