Lucy mumbled something about just wanting to check on her, biting the inside of her cheek sharply afterward. Her hand went to her own throat, feeling along her lower neck and collar bone. She frowned when she didn’t feel anything and dug through her bag for a moment, brows furrowed. Not there. Must be at the cabin, she thought. “I.. need to go for a moment, is that fine?” She called to really no one in particular.

@Desvelarse pets

“I should be fine,” Lucy said slowly, rubbing the back of her neck, which felt hot. She wasn’t quite sure, but the last thing she wanted was for Sam or anyone else to go wandering into the now unlocked room. They might think she did that if they saw, and the thought made her paranoid.

Lucy hummed in response, quickly walking away, hands stuffed into her pockets. She got outside and adjusted her grip on the satchel as she broke into a light jog, the cold biting at her bared arms. She arrived at the cabin, doing her best not to look at the bodies on the lawn. When she went inside, the smell of death had spread to the upper floors, and she coughed lightly, pulling up her blouse to cover her nose. She rummaged through her bedroom, searching for the small pendant, and she sighed with relief when she found it. There was a noise coming from the kitchen that made her freeze. Was that crying?

She walked slowly from the bedroom, and when she saw a dark figure standing there, she said “Manete!”, quickly, and the person was frozen in place. But it wasn’t a hostile figure. The woman from the orphanage? The woman looked at Lucy with wide eyes. “Did you do that to those men?” She shrieked.

“N-no! I didn’t do that! You know me, you know I would never!” Lucy responded, growing slightly panicked.

“Why does your home smell like this? What have you done?!” The woman cried, obviously stunned from the bodies and the smell of rotting flesh.

(oh no) Sam shuffled into the kitchen, deciding he would pick food out. He settled on some chicken from the fridge and a box of shell-shaped noodles from one of the cupboards

@Desvelarse pets

(Oh no is right)

“It wasnt- it wasn’t me! I swear! You have to believe me, please!” Lucy begged, growing tired from her continued hold on the woman.

“Who could it have been?! You said you lived alone! I cannot believe that I let you into the home when you slaughter people,” the older woman cried.

The woman’s eyes seemed to widen as she almost looked past Lucy and gave a nod. “What are you-?” Was all that Lucy got out before something hard shattered across the back of her head harshly, sending her to the ground. Her breath caught in her throat as burning pain blossomed in the back of her head and neck, the tiled floor under her having a cold contrast. Pieces of glass were scattered around her, and a few roses lied on the floor. The vase, Lucy thought, taking shuggerung breaths as she struggled to keep her eyes from drooping closed. Another person went to the woman, and she recognized it as her husband. She knew these people. She trusted these people. But they ran off, leaving her sprawled out on the kitchen floor.

(distant noises of distress in the background) Suddenly, Sam heard screaming. He may have had really good hearing before, but this was new. It sounded like a woman, and he could here vague noises that sounded like Lucy

@Desvelarse pets

(Had to get in some drama, rip)

Lucy’s vision clouded with black and red spots as she struggled to breathe. Even though the back of her head and neck seemed to be the only things to be extremely cut up, her whole body stung. Her hands clenched, nails digging into the tiled floors. She attempted to push herself up slightly, but she whimpered sharply in pain when she pressed her hands down on the tiles from the scattered shards. She decided on laying on the floor until she could think straight. She would be fine, everything would be okay. One of her hands shakily lifted from the ground, and lightly touched the back of her neck. Blood coated on her fingers from the few gashes, and she let her hand,fall back to the tile. Everything was fine.

Sam winced, the noises causing a headache. Shit. He shouldn't have let Lucy go alone. He set the food down and ran out the door, towards the cabin

@Desvelarse pets

Lucy listened to the silence in the room, her own thumping heart beat the only thing in her ears. God, she was so tired. It would be so easy to shut her eyes and rest. Her hand slid across the floor, breath catching in her throat when shards would pinch against her forearm and wrist. Her fingers slipped around the stem of a rose, and she moved it back over to her. She concentrated on the color of the petals. Red, like her blood that was smeared across the floor. No, not blood, she shouldn’t think about that. It was red, like.. Hell, why couldn’t she think of anything else red?

@Desvelarse pets

There was a voice echoing in her ears. What was his name again..? Sam, it was Sam. Why couldn’t she think straight? There was a sting in the back of her neck. Blood. The injury. That must be why. “Sam,” she said, her tone sounding hoarse.

@_sleeby_rat_

Sam flinched. Lucy's voice gave her a headache despite being weak. He followed the sound, finding her in a small puddle of blood. "Oh no." He rolled her over gently, checking for any major injuries

@Desvelarse pets

Lucy hissed sharply when he moved her. She sudden movement seemed to snap her back to reality, and she let the rose fall back onto the tile. “Everything hurts,” she mumbled, her eyes now shutting tightly.

@_sleeby_rat_

"Yeah. Yeah I can tell. Don't move too much," Sam murmured quietly. He scooped her up into his arms as carefully as he could and made for Orion's cabin

@Desvelarse pets

Lucy grimaced when he lifted her, pain shooting up the back of her neck. Her fingers gripped onto the material of his jacket as she breathed sharply.

@Desvelarse pets

“They- The orphanage people,” Lucy stammered softly, now seeming to feel that tears had been dripping from her eyes. “I thought that- that I could trust them.”

@_sleeby_rat_

"Shh," Sam said, finally getting to the cabin. He opened the door slowly, moving to the living room. He set her on the couch gently, careful of her head. "You want some ice?"

@_sleeby_rat_

"Hey, hey, try to lay flat. I'll get you a blanket." Sam looked around for a moment before grabbing a large, comfortable-looking blanket. He brought it over to her, unrolling it over her. He then walked off, grabbing a bag before stopping in front of the freezer. A dull fear crept up through his spine, and he swallowed around a lump in his throat. Ignoring it, he reached into the freezer and grabbing as much ice as he could as quickly as possible. His hand immediately cracked as soon as he touched it, and he hissed. He shoved it into the bag before hiding his cracked hand and walking back to to Lucy and putting the ice on her head

@Desvelarse pets

Lucy forced her aching, tired muscles to stretch out as she layed on her stomach, head turned to the side. The colors in her vision were purely black spots, and she felt exhausted, mos likely from the blood loss. She tensed up when she felt the cold ice pack on her head, but eventually relaxed again, it slowly numbing the pain in her head and neck. “Thank you,” she said quietly, trying to focus on staying awake for a moment.
