(Yesss good idea
What exactly is her evil scheme?)

Marcus shut his eyes, pressing closer. He let his whole body relax, his chest muscles, tense from pain, loosening. And for the first time in months, maybe even years, he drifted off easily, with Winnifred tucked away in his arms. In his embrace. “Good night…”

((Sorry, love. I forgot it was my go. Now, Winifred is gonna stab Luc…..with a syringe filled with sleeping sedative. If she can put him to sleep, she can call the police. And even if he doesn't go to jail for the murder, he'll go for rape (Angeline and many others) and an attempt (Winifred). BOOM Oh and will you play Luc? Sorry to ask such a heinous part on you.))

Deleted user

((That….has yet to be decided. If he get's caught than that kinda puts a damper on my plans. This has the possibility of add another character or two, but I have another idea. What if they call Lauren to testify? Winifred still doesn't know that Lauren and Luc were a thing. But her aunt did want her to take the job and when she did, she gave her the message for Death, but never told her who it was. But she did, in the book.))

@blue_topaz

Oh that would be interesting.. hm

Maybe they don’t catch him this time, just to keep this part of the story going a little longer, but they catch him next time and your plan w Lauren happens?

Deleted user

((Sure! Soo, will Marcus attempt his murder and Winnie stops him? That could cause some needed controversy in the newborn relationship, reminding them that there is A LOT they don't know about each other))

Deleted user

((So, Winifred still goes to the dinner and maybe asks to use the ladies room?? Or perhaps Luc takes her for a walk in the garden and he returns to the dining area for drinks? Marcus catches him spiking hers (or not, either way he wants to kill him XD)?? Then the dagger-dance begins once more, except Marcus is not anywhere near a sane mindset??))

@blue_topaz

(yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss I love it all
Spiking the drink sounds great, and if she asked to use the washroom that might be better because it'll be easier for Marcus and Luc to be alone)

Deleted user

((Alrighty! So, we pick up with Winifred getting ready for the dinner, quick kiss on the forehead and then goes???))

Winifred awoke from her slumber with dread settling in. A servant had come, bearing a reminder from Luc Crenshaw of their dinner together. She'd looked out the window to see the sun setting in an alarming pace. She knew she'd have to move fast if she wanted to be on time.

But she could hardly find the power within her to move from Marcus's warm embrace. She had slept so well. Greater than any other slumber she had ever experienced in her years. And as she slowly slipped from the sheets, the chill trailed along her skin in a way that made her want to scream.

She bathed and dressed in a emerald green gown with off-shoulder sleeves and glittering gold embroidery along the bodice. Her hair was done up in a style of sophisticated beauty, and sooner than she wanted, she was ready.

Her heels clicked along the hard-wood floor as she went towards the door. She lingered beside the bed, her eyes passing over Marcus as he slept. Winifred leaned down and kissed his forehead, soft and slow. "Don't cause any trouble while I'm gone, please. " She whispered, a smile on her plum-painted lips. She then left the room, walking down the halls to meet one Crenshaw, with the other on her mind.

Marcus stirred in his sleep, but the weight of exhaustion was too much to bear, inescapable, and his eyes stayed firmly shut. All of a sudden, it was as if all the warmth had leaked out of the world, and even to his slumbering mind, the minutes seemed to stretch on like days. There was an absence– something was missing, and he couldn't quite remember what. Someone was supposed to be there with him, but they weren't. His arms were cold. He was alone, even in his sleep.

Winifred entered the dinner hall, doing her best to try and hold a decent smile. So many obscene words towards Luc ran through her mind, she found it so hard to hold her tongue as she spotted his figure. Finally, she swallowed her words, straightened her back, and pushed the things she held dear from her mind.

"Good evening, Lord Crenshaw."

@blue_topaz

Luc looked up from the table, offering her a smile that was surprisingly warm, grateful even, and painfully resembling Marcus's. "Good evening, my lady," he greeted, standing and crossing the room to take her hand gently in his and brush his lips across her knuckles. He barely refrained from licking his lips and fixing his eyes to her curves, the bare skin showing on her shoulders and chest.
She looks….. delicious….

Offering her a charming smile, he straightened, his posture radiating relaxed politeness. "You look stunning, if I may say so. Would you care to join me at the dinner table?"

(when should Marcus wake up?)

Deleted user

((SHUT UP LUC!!!! Okay, um- maybe it starts to rain again? Lightning wakes him up when they start the meal?))

Winifred fought the disgust that rose in her like bile. She took her hand away and tucked it behind her. She gave a pretty smile and nodded. "Very well…" she stepped towards the candle-lit table. With every step she took, she wondered just how that revolting man could ever possibly be related to Marcus.

@blue_topaz

(Sure, so I’ll wake him up after you reply then)

They sat, Luc across from Winnifred, and a waiter brought them their entrees on a silver platter. Luc figured he deserved a medal for the amount of self control it took not to pin her down right there and then… she looked so much like Lauren that it was painful. He hoped she would feel like his old lover as well, he had every curve, every point of her skin memorized, emblazoned in his mind, and he was hungry to slip his hands over a body that would resemble her so closely. Smiling kindly, he picked up his knife and fork. “Bon Appetit.”

((It's paining me to read it… I dislike him))

Winifred kept glancing up at Luc, sensing his gaze on her at each and every second. She despised this man and the way his eyes roved her body, but did her best to remain placid and calm. She ate slowly, but the food tasted of ash and gravel on her tongue. She settled for conversation to keep from having to take another bite.

She gentle set her fork down. "Uh- Lord Crenshaw… I am curious, how are things of the estate? You seem to be a busy man, I hardly see you around."

@blue_topaz

(I dislike him too)

Luc swallowed a tender bite of chicken, dabbing at the corner of his mouth with a white linen cloth. “I am quite busy,” he agreed, his eyes flickering between her eyes and her nose, a movement that would be unnoticeable for anyone who didn’t know his ways. “The estate is fine, but there has been a lot of buzz concerning the late Lord and Lady Crenshaw, may they rest in peace, their murderer has yet to be found.”

Deleted user

Nodding, Winifred took a sip of her wine, but not until she greatly scrutinized it. "As I have heard. The grief of the event still affects Lord Marcus greatly. It affects his health in a fashion I have never seen before. But what say you of the murder? Were you not here?"

@blue_topaz

Luc’s stomach twisted at the mention of his godforsaken nephew, but he was careful not to let his revulsion show on his face. “I’m afraid not, I was out with a friend at the time, but I was devastated to come back to my brother and his wife dead.” He paused, considering something. Thunder clapped in the background. “You mentioned my nephew? How is he doing?”

Marcus awoke with a start, cold fear immediately settling on his heart. His eyes flew open and were met with emptiness. Winnifred was gone.

Deleted user

((Heck yeah she's gone, go get your woman!!))
"Ah, yes." She set her cup down. In her mind she remember her words to Marcus, what he always asked her. Nothing gets to your uncle, I promise…

"He's…..an interesting one. You didn't warn me he was keen for dagger throwing and using drugs." She gave a amused smile. But it was all fake. She hated speaking of Marcus as if he was a nuisance, and small practicality.

@blue_topaz

(Lmao)

Luc let out a short laugh, but the smile didn’t reach his cold, grey eyes. “Yes, I should probably have warned you about his tendencies. How is he doing? He didn’t threaten you, I hope?”

Marcus sat up immediately, pain bursting in his chest. Pointedly ignoring it, he swung his legs off the bed, grabbed his bloody shirt from the other day, and pushed the adjoining door between his and Winnifred’s rooms open. She was nowhere to be seen. His heart rate accelerated. Oh god. Oh god. Winnifred. Luc. Oh god no. Whirling around, he made for the door, but a trembling voice stopped him. Angeline.
