Everyone knows you dont make a deal with the Devil, you'll bargin away more than you had thought. He's a master manipulator and knows how to get exactly what he wants without loosing a thing. But centuries of being alone has made him lonely, miserable. Just because he's portrayed as the bad guy doesn't mean he doesn't want someone to love and cherish. But who would be so bold to love a monster like him? So what happens when a young, beautiful girl, barely an adult, decodes to make a deal with the Devil?

Smart, but can seem kind of ditzy at times, because her mind moves a mile a minute. Can never sit still. Soft spoken and fairly quiet when you first meet her.

Name: Malachi "The Devil"
Age: As old as time (looks late twenties, early thirties)
Appearnce: raven black hair, pale skin, jet black eyes, tall, muscular, regal
Personality: Malachi is a master manipulator. He lies and schemes and strikes fear in all who meet him. He rules with fear and terror. All those who cross him meet pain that they had never endured. But despite all of this, he is lonely and craves a companion. But he knows nonw would willingly accept the position knowing the danger it brings
I'm always a fan of asshole characters who crave love lmao
Malachi roamed the halls of the dark and twisted palace. If one had not already known the paths, they would be lost forever. If you know the halls, you will be never be lost. There was an excessive pull this century. Mortals no longer feared the devil and called on him for the smallest or the pettiest things. Most times he ignored the call of mortals. The few times he answered it, it was even rarer that he answered it. Those that wished revenge, he manipulated it so the person they ill-wished was in a world of pain. Everyone they knew and loved suffered from misfortune. It brought him joy when souls came knocking on his doors after taking their lives from the misfortune he had given. He waited until it was the right time to collect the soul of the one who had summoned him He reveled in giving pain and suffering and misery. But lately, he had been experiencing his misery. He was exceptionally lonely. His advisors were not friends, they feared him. Everyone in the Underworld feared him, and if they didn't, they were put to death. He had no friends, no one to appreciate, no one to love. There was no one who would accept his proposal to become his wife and queen. It was a dangerous thing. It was something that no one would willingly accept. He knew what he had to do, he just had to wait for the right person to make a deal with the Devil.
Lily had gotten the call yesterday, while in the middle of writing a job application. She had rushed to the hospital immediately, and subsequently spent hours there, rushing between the two hospital rooms and the hospital's cafe for coffee, comforting her family and trying desperately not to break down in front of everyone. She couldn't do that to them, not when they needed her to be strong.
It was somewhere around two in the morning now, she was pretty sure. She hadn't bothered to check a clock since she'd arrived home, her grand mother finally sending her off with a hug and a 'It's alright, dear. I'll hold down the fort here. You go rest.'. Now, as she looked around her bedroom, the boxes already packed for next week when she was supposed to head off to Northwestern University, it all came rushing back to catch up to her. Her brother was dying, and her mother along with him.
"You seem restless sire, is there anything I can do for you sire?" Asked on of the hideous lower creatures of the Underworld. They were the ugliest things that anyone had ever come across and never showed their faces but to those who have wronged them. It causes them to go mad until the point of breaking, resulting in their tortured death. They happened to be Malachi's favorite assassins and most loyal subjects.
"I am fine, Obsidian. I have just grown impatient at the number of summoning. Do these mortals not understand that I have more important things than grant their silly wishes? I give them mercy by not." The Devil responded. His servant followed behind him as he walked to one of the many rooms. He deemed this ine his office. Papers neatly stacked. A couch on one side, a book shelf on the other. And a desk at the head of the room.
Strangely enough, the tears wouldn't come. Lilly suddenly felt calm, almost…empty. She stood from her bed, tugging a hand through her hair, which hadn't been brushed since yesterday morning. She had to do something. There had to be a way to help, right? Maybe in one of those old books her grandmother kept around, the result of a long line of witches.
She pushed open her door, heading straight for the closet in the hallway. Moving things aside was tedious, and slow, but she eventually got the trapdoor open and the ladder down. Where are they, where-there! She blew on the stack of books piled haphazardly in the far corner of the attic, sending up a billowing cloud of dust that she ignored in favor of picking through them. Her heart began to sink. There was nothing. In all the old books, all she could find was plant encyclopedias, and books on auras. Until she spotted an old leather bound journal.
Malachi sat behind his desk, shuffling through one of the files. "You are dismissed, Obsidain."
"Yes, my Lord."
The Devil slumped back int the chair as soon as the door closed. He rubbed his face with a sigh. Life had become so long. Sometimes it almost made him envy mortals. They could die, move on from their life. He could not. He was stuck immortal until the end of time. Stuck in a lonely and miseravle world. He pften thought about what it would be like to have a queen to rule by to side. But the risk was high. Any queen of his would be soight out by his enemies, use her as a weapon against him. No one in their right minds would want to rule beside him.
Lily released a breath she hadn't even realized she'd been holding, flipping through the pages of the old journal. It looked like a Grimoire, and it had detailed spells in the footnotes and pages. And there, about halfway through the book, was a spell to summon the Devil.
One request. That's what it said. The warnings attached to it bounced around the girl's head as she hurried back down the stairs, to the kitchen. But she couldn't bring herself to care that much, even as she began the ritual, her hair pulled back from her face in a messy bun to keep her from messing anything up. Her soul, to save the people she loved. It seemed like a fair trade.
Malachi straightened as he felt the pull once more. A summon. Any other day and he would have ignored it. But perhaps messing with a mortal would raise his spirits. Shadows gathered around him and he disappeared. Where he appeared, looked as though he was inside a house. He stayed hidden until the girl who had summoned him had quite her excessive ritual. To summon him was really quite simple. It didn't require all that the books said. It was only that he chose not to show most times. The Devil stepped forth into the light. He face was concealed by a black robe, the shadows clung to him. "Why have you summoned me mortal?" His voice was dark and deep, bone chilling to most who heard it.
Lily's head shot up, eyes pulled away from the blood on her hand, to the figure now standing in her kitchen. It had worked. She almost cried in relief, but managed to keep herself calm, despite the growing realization that she had just summoned the Devil. "I need something. That's pretty obvious though, I guess, considering I summoned you. I mean-" She shook her head, cutting off her rambling. "My brother and my mother are dying. I want to know if there's any way you can help me save them."
Malachi arched a brow, not that the girl could see that. "Everybody who summons me wants somthing girl. But not all of them are willingly to pay the price. Tell me, would give me anything for to save your family, no matter the consequence. Life must have a balance after all." Amd that was a lie. He could do whateber he wantedbwithout facing a consequence. But he was not an angel. He did not do anything without reword. Best that the mortals did not know that his power was limitless and required no sacrifice.
"Yes." Lily said, without hesitation. The pain caused by the crash, and the news she'd gotten from the doctor, flashed across her face for a split second, before her face hardened with steely determination. "I'd do anything for them. Name your price."
Malachi's smile was all things dark and evil. "My prince for bringing your lived ones back from the brink of death is you. Until the end of your days you will reside in my home. No harm will come to you and your family will believe that you have accepted a job offer far away from home. You will be treated well, taken care of. Your life is my price."
That made Lily pause to think. Her family would never see her again. But if it meant they would be okay… She took a deep breath, looking up to meet where she assumed his eyes were. "I'll do it. As long as you're true to your word, I'll be true to mine. Help them, please."
