Name: Jenestder Glynn
Age: 18
Gender: male
Appearance: Jen is 5'8" with sun kissed skin from working outside under the harsh sun. Jen's got straight fluffy short hair that looks constantly ruffled up and it's not because he does anything to it, it's just that way naturally. Some parts of his hair look darker while other parts look lighter. He's got rich amber eyes, the outside of the iris a black color mixing with the amber color, near the center to the pupil it's more of a rusted orange color.
Usual clothing: His usual outfit is loose jogger cargo pants held by a black belt with a casual black t-shirt. For shoes, he'll go for black retro combat boots since he goes straight to work after school, it's more comfortable for him this way. He also has black fingerless gloves made of fabric so his hands won't get burned from the heavy metal he has to lift sometimes, especially on hot days.
Personality: Everything that's happened to Jen so far has heavily shaped and impacted Jen's personality. He's often very moody, not liking when people touch him without his permission. And although he is very popular in school, for his free spirited attitude, he can also be kind of a jerk- cocky even. Jen knows his boundaries and won't let anyone pass it, almost to the point of being a closed off person who wants to drown his memories and past. If you ask about his history he'll most likely give you a shrug and say "does it matter?". Jen does in fact have depression from his past experiences, he went as far as to a dark place where he wanted to end his life, and to deal with this he took drugs that would often make him feel high (happy pills or also known as a group of antidepressants called SSRIs), but still being strong enough to be within a reasonable thinking mind. Jen does cry often, sometimes getting ptsd flashbacks of the massacred people on the ground he had to decapitate. Jen heavily regrets everything he did with a passion and it's enough to give him nightmares when he sleeps. Other then this he seems pretty chill and nonchalant most of the time, though melancholy gets the best of him. Jen is friendly and open to people he thinks are mature, but often being an asshole to people who he dislikes and thinks are useless.
Favorite Food/Drink: He likes cold horchata with hot pupusas, just like his mother used to make
Skills: Jen is a mastermind when it comes to plans and tricks on how to throw people off his track, has good fighting skills and techniques as he has been trained since he was a preteen, Jen's good at building things and fixing things. He can build a bomb out of scratch if he has the necessary materials, so basically he can turn something harmless into a weapon.
Tools: Pocket knife, a Remington 870, a metal bat/pipe, and a black military backpack with a bunch of stuff he stuffed in there for his survival (like food, water, clothes, etc.)
Background: Jen was born to a poor family in El Salvador, at the time the conditions were rocky with the government. The president took almost all of the country's money and spent it for himself, leaving the country in misery and to fend for its self. Jen's parents struggled to feed Jen and his siblings, even themselves. Around this time there was a war going on with the so called government and a guerrilla group which opposed the president, demanding to be given more resources and money so that the people could live and not die of the poor starving condition. The guerilla would go around recruiting kids and teenagers to fight in the cause, but their way of fighting back was unethical. They revolted and killed their own people in protests. Jen was recruited at the age of nine, that also being the age when he first started killing people of his own race. He was taught many things as a kid, like how to fight, how to handle a gun, and clever war schemes. He learned to build things from what little they had and how to fix broken things that could be salvageable. In this particular time when war broke out where Jen and his family lived, some of the soldiers of the government would take advantage of the situation and confusion, abducting small kids. Some would raise them as their own kids while others would be sold to lucrative illegal adoption networks, some weren't even as lucky as this- getting raped or even killed. Seeing this, Jen's family decided to move to a better place, somewhere they would have a better life. America. They took the risk of fleeing to the united states, taking Jen with them, although the guerrilla did not permit for members to leave the organization. It would have meant torture as a punishment or even death if they would have stayed in El Salvador after that. Jen's family ended up successfully making a home of their own in America and working hard to eat. Although the situation was tough, it was better than being back at Jen's home country. But the relief and happiness didn't last long. Police officers caught Jen's parents and brothers and deported them back to El Salvador. Jen wasn't with his family at the time, having to run an errand at the grocery store for his parents. When he came back to the empty and messy house- like someone had struggled to get away from something- he panicked. Not knowing what happened to his family, he left and lived on the streets for some time, starving some days and getting beat up others. People would look at him with disdain as they passed the dirty hispanic begging for food on the street. Almost a year passed like this and it wasn't until he hit fourteen years old that he was rescued from the streets by a guy named Vincent, he was thirty five at the time. He was a guy that smoked, someone who had been a solider fighting for his country for many years, and someone who could also give zero shits about anything, it was written all over his face. He took pity on the kid and took him in, raising him as best as he could. Not only did this help Jen live, but it changed Vince as well, helping him finding something to live for and care for- and a missing emotion he wasn't sure he had- sympathy. Jen lived comfortable and protected all the way through high school, but still not knowing what became of his family. Jen started working as a mechanic with cars and motorcycles, also repairing other machinery. Even in his off time he has a hobby of building small but complicated contraptions, sometimes taking them to school half finished so he can work on them there as an excuse for neglecting the work he has to do handed out by the teachers. Jen graduated and started working full time in his auto repair shop….that is until world war z happened.
Other: one thing that he's embarrassed about is the fact that he has to wear clips in his hair (like a little kid) to keep it from falling in front of his face while he's working-
