Emylee sat down in a corner, even though there were chairs, and got out a book.
Sacia sat down in the front and center chair, brushing her ginger hair out of her eyes and peering at the front of the room. She didn't see any adults that seemed to be in charge. What was this thing going to be like, really?
Emylee peeked over the top of her book. Therewere only two other people in the room. The whole point of this was so that homeschooled kids could make friends, right?
Oh well. The only friends she needed were her books. She snickered out loud thinking about it.
Sacia snapped her head around at the light snickering coming from the corner. Some girl with purple hair was reading –no, hiding behind a book. "Hi!" she greeted loudly.
The place wasn't very large so Liza didn't have such a hard time finding out where to go. When she got to the class she saw to people already inside so she wasn't worried about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. She sat in the top left seat and took her phone out to pass time.
Emylee jumped and nearly dropped her book. She slowly peeked her head over it. "Uh… hi?
"I'm Sacia," she said, waving a hand. "Like Sasha, but my parents were probably high when they named me, I don't know. Anyway, what's up?"
Liza heard some noise but ignored it and put her earbuds in while humming to her music.
Emylee put her book away and went to sit near Sacia. "I'm Emylee. Spelled E-m-y-l-e-e… for whatever reason… Don't know why they couldn't have just spelled it like a normal Emily…"
"Looks like our parents were both on crack when they named us," she bemoaned with a chagrined smile. "Am I allowed to say crack in a homeschool co-op? I wouldn't be surprised if I got in trouble on the first day."
Aleena walked in “um hi.” She said looking up
Emylee laughed. "I don't know. There don't seem to be any teachers, anyway."
Emylee spun her head around and waved
"Hi," Sacia said to the newcomer, smiling.
Liza now decided to interact with others now that more people were inside. She put her earbuds and joined their conversations.
"Hi," Liza said feeling slightly awkward because she didn't know how to do this. "I'm Liza" She figured introducing herself would be a nice start.
Emylee smiled. "I'm Emylee… I guess you can call me Emy, though."
"Hi," Sacia said to the newcomer, smiling.
“I’m Aleena and I have many nicknames.” She smiled
"Like what?"
"Ally. Leena. Lee. Al." Sacia listed off as many as she could think of.
"Leen?"
"Like what?" Liza asked feeling intrigued. She didn't know how the name Aleena could have many nicknames.
“Well my dad calls me peanut because when I was a kid, I loved peanuts. Mum calls me Fawn, and my friends call me many names based on my name. I was once called Sady the clown because my last name has the word sad in it.” She laughed
Sacia laughed, "Wow, that is a lot. I think I'll call you Ally, though."
"I think I'm good just calling you Aleena." Emy eyed her book book in the corner. She really should have brought it with her.
