"I don't need to explain myself to a simple cook's son," Emilia said as she walked towards the front of the room, the fake Tori behind her. Liam spoke up.
"Then you can explain yourself to the princes of the kingdom," He shot towards his aunt, and the other boys rallied behind him.
Adrien jumped to his feet, fists clenched, but there wasn’t much he could do at this point. His mind raced, trying to figure out a plan.
"Fine. There are things that only the real Tori would know. Like…what is your favourite colour?"
"Blue," The Toris said in unison. Tori's family kept shooting questions at the Toris that both answered correctly. They couldn't think.
"I've got it," Noah said. "What heart condition do you have that barely anyone knows about?"
"Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia," Tori replied instantly, pronouncing it perfectly.
"CPVT," The fake Tori said.
Adrien couldn’t stand it any longer. How was this even possible? The other girl looked almost exactly like Tori… it was admittedly frightening.
“She’s clearly the real Victoria!”
"Which one are you talking about?!" Mason yelled. "Look. There's gotta be a better way to figure this out."
(idk, something like getting tori to kiss adrien?)
(Omg Yes
How exactly would they get that to happen?)
(i have an answer to it
just get adrien to ask tori to kiss him
but not go up to her)
Adrien inhaled, collecting his self. He decided to take a huge risk right then and there. “If I may,” he called. “I have a question that might determine this.”
Everyone turned to him. "Yes, please. Ask it," Tori said desperately, her eyes pleading.
Adrien let out a long breath, waiting for his trembling hands to still. "Both Victorias, kiss me."
(is that okay?)
(perfect)
One Tori stared at Adrien in disgust, while the other Tori looked stunned. "Ew. No. I have standards," The first Tori ugh-ed.
"A-a-adrien, I-i couldn't. Y-you're my best friend. I-i couldn do that to you. E-even if I w-w-wanted to. It'd be w-wrong," The other Tori stuttered.
Adrien raised his arms to gesture at the two of them. “There we go. Mystery solved. Stuttering Tori is the real Tori. Can we finish the coronation now?”
People started to mutter. This made the twins annoyed, and they walked to the front of the room. "HEY! EVERYONE! OUR SISTER IS BECOMING QUEEN!" Liam yelled.
"SO IF YOU WOULDN'T MIND, SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN!" Noah shouted after him.
Adrien sat back down, shooting a reassuring smile at Tori and a glare at her aunt and the fake Tori. How did they even do that…? Hjs heart still thumped heavily from his…. interesting question.
"Now," The priest continued. "Let's start where we left off. Do you, Victoria Bethany Evangeline Renee, pledge to rule Gardenia with a kind and helpful heart, to protect it whatever the case and always put the kingdom first?"
Tori took a really deep breath. "I do."
"With this crown on your head, I bestow onto you the kingdom of Gardenia." He placed the crown on Tori's head, and she turned around to face your kingdom. "I now present to you Queen Victoria of Gardenia!"
Adrien surged to his feet along with the rest of the crowd, clapping and cheering for his friend. His eyes sent out a silent message, a reassurance.
Tori walked down the small set of steps, her cape trailing behind her. She hugged her brothers and then reached Adrien. "About that kiss," She said nervously, blushing madly.
The tips of Adrien’s ears went pink, and be hurried to apologize. “Princess, I’m sorry- I didn’t know what else to—“
Tori interrupted his mumbling to grab the fabric of her best friend's shirt and pull him into a kiss.
Adrien’s widened, the force of the kiss driving the breath from his lungs. Moving almost by instinct, he gently settled one hand on her waist and brought the other up to cup her cheek. Tori’s lips were so soft, her skin was so warm….. a rush of exhilaration blew through him, and for a moment it was just them, no spectators, no family.
Tori pulled away, slightly breathless. She didn't care if everyone was watching. She was finally completely happy.
Adrien finally realized that everyone was watching. His face reddened and he took a small step back, heart thundering. “I— Tori—“
"Adrien…Look, I've liked you for a long time. I didn't know if you returned my feelings. And since you're my best friend, I just left it alone."
Adrien's heart skipped a beat, his mouth going dry. "O-Oh. I didn't– I didn't know." He glanced around anxiously, the eyes of everyone in the room boring holes into his skin. "Tori– I– do you want to continue this in- in private?"
"Oh, right. You can all leave now," Tori addressed her new subjects. "Please."
Slowly, everyone filtered out of the room, and they were completely alone. Adrien took a deep breath in, hands trembling. "Tori," he started, wetting his parched lips. "I– I've liked you for a while, too."
Tori blushed and smiled. "Y-you have?"
Adrien looked down at the floor. "Yes," he whispered.
Tori lifted Adrien's chin with her hand so that he was looking into his eyes. "Hey, look at me. Don't be ashamed. I was the same. Can…can I let you in on a secret?"
Adrien’s breath hitched, but he somehow managed a nod. “I don’t mind at all..”
