Ollie looked up at the man, his soft smile returning to his lips. " You live here; it shouldn't be another office. Gio needs a home, too, plus he needs something to help him release his energy. " He said with a soft chuckle, " You don't have to let the dust settle, but I assure you, as long as I'm here, this place will be a home." He promised, with a look of determination in his eyes.
Maybe kids weren't what this man needed, perhaps it was a roommate who knew what home was supposed to feel like. It was no strip club that Liv ran, but every ounce of her love poured into him, and that same love he was pouring into this house and into Gio. Maybe even Elias if hed let him. ollie knew that here sooner or later Elias would have to let Ollie in, just a little if this plan was to ever work, though part of ollies heart hurt, knowing that at some point, this would all be over, another story this alpha could tell to his buddies. but he didn't want to think of that right now.
Elias leaned against the threshold of the living room, leaving Ollie and a now very curious Gio on the couch, still hesitant to get any closer to the omega. "It's now a home for you as well. I'm glad you're settling in comfortably." He had opened his home up to many friends and family when he visited. Ray had been his most frequent, near-daily visitor. Sometimes, the house felt more for them than himself. As much as Elias treasured his simplistic and structured life, Elias cared more for the well-being of his guests. He was roused from his thoughts when a knock at his door. "That should be Ray. The bedroom and bathroom are all yours if you still need a break." He offered as he unlocked his door and greeted his friend with a hug.
"When I heard you called out of, I had to see for myself. You better not be working from home." Ray scolded teasingly, walking with Elias as he returned to the living room. Elias rolled his eyes with a grin "You make it sound like I'm a workaholic. I can take breaks sometimes." He defended, gesturing towards Ollie before his friend could argue something most likely true. "I know you've met before, but I figured a second try without the stress of you-know-who." Ray nodded and extended his hand towards Ollie. "I'm Ray. I am so so so so so sorry for yesterday. That was not how I thought things would go, and if you hate them for being involved, that's completely understandable. If there's anything you need and El's busy, please don't hesitate to ask." He offered, glancing down when profuse meowing interrupted him. "Hello to you too, dustball!" He scooped Gio up and put the kitten into his sweater hoodie where the kitten immediately curled up and started purring like a car motor. "Anyways, I hope you're doing alright despite yesterday. I know El is the scariest alpha this city has ever seen and blah blah blah but he's a teddy bear once he opens up. Fun little fact, half those books on that bookshelf are romances. He's not all Mr. Stoic 24/7. All the formality is just him trying to gauge the situation. He'll loosen up and act like a human being once he's a bit more comfortable." Ray reassured, giving Ollie a knowing wink before he deposited Gio back onto the couch.
"You keep telling every new person who comes here all my secrets I'm gonna have to kick you out," Elias warned half-heartedly as he passed Ray a cup of tea and offered one to Ollie, having previously retreated to the kitchen, both to make the tea and to hide his slight embarrassment at being called out by his closest friend.
"You seem to be adjusting well, which is great compared to yesterday," Ray noted softly, pausing to take a sip of his tea.
Olie stood up and smiled, his gentle hand reaching out for the handshake. :" Oh I've read most of those books in my spare time, I noticed them when I was brought here. You don't have to be sorry though, you agreed to something you had no control over. " he said, his face showing no hard feelings between the two. " and you're a little traitor gio." he said to the kitten playfully,
" I know I'm not in danger here, and Elias has been quite understanding of my boundary without me even having to tell him. I appreciate that though. I wouldn't mind it if he laughed a little more though" he playfully teased the alpha, knowing that Ray was a trusted friend of Elias's made his mind and his body a little less tense. Ollie took the tea, blowing gently on it before taking a sip. " not from a tea bag, I didn't think you were the type to brew your own." he remarked.
Ray leaned his head back on the couch to look at Elias, giving him a cheeky smile. "Ya hear that El? Now you have someone you can gush to about your smut-filled rom-coms." Ray ducked into the couch to avoid being flicked on the head by a now very flustered Elais. "And here I thought you were invested when I told you the plot." Elias teased, now leaning over the couch beside Ray and taking a longer sip of his tea, waving his hand as Gio swatted at him for attention. He easily scooped up the kitten, peppering him with kisses before setting him down again. Ray relaxed against the couch, sighing relief from being spared by Elias and at Ollie's understanding.
"If there's anything bad to say about El, it's that he might be a bit too accommodating." He leaned in a little and whispered, "Make sure to take care of him, too. We can't go without his amazing cooking for long." He laughed when he finally got smacked upside the head by Elias, who didn't even try to hide his smile. "Who knows, maybe if Ray keeps saying dumb things, I'll spare a chuckle." He compromised, turning his gaze towards Ollie, sobering slightly as he nodded with a bit of surprise. "mhm, not mine personally but I have a friend who started a business a while back. Every time she wants to try a new blend she sends them to me for taste testing. I have a stash of loose-leaf tea in the pantry if you ever want to try something. This one is a favorite, her own chai masala blend." He explained.
(just went through my first tornado warning. terifiing as shit.)
Ollie nodded, favoring anything Elias gave him. " there's a difference between a tea only made to be drank and a tea made to be savored. Love has a flavor, one far more favorable than sex." he noted, his deep sigh letting any tension he had go. The smaller leaned onto the couch and closed his eyes. " you can sit you know? There is more than enough room on this couch, and I don't mind a well-minded snuggle now and then. Once you get to know me I'm petty snuggly. At least that's what I've been told. " he said with a soft giggle, sipping more of the tea.
"Your friend has an amazing tongue for her then. It's a well-trained skill to get tea to taste good, let alone taste with love," he said, loving on the oh-so-deprived kitten.
(are ya'll ok???)
If it was at all possible, Elias blushed even more, the cup of tea he was sipping at did nothing to hide the red on his cheeks. Ray snickered at seeing his friend unusually flustered and scooted over, purposefully towards the arms of the couch, forcing Elias to take the spot beside Ollie. "I'm not sure that's what she's aiming for in her blends but you're right." He agreed, reluctantly settling in between Ray and Ollie. Elias didn't have an aversion to sex. He guessed he thought if it like everyone else. Sure it was a bit embarrassing to talk about it so openly but it was a part of life and nothing to be ashamed of. Ollie seemed to have more experience betweent he three of them but Elias was more curious about about the omega beside him than looking for any physical relationship, at least for now.
Ray gave a small laugh "that she does, her girlfriend seems to really think so." Elias couldn't help but smile but he genuinely was happy for his friends. "We'll have to introduce you to Therese and Jen." He looked over to Ollie, shaking his head as Gio curled up against Ollie's stomach. "I think you might have competition for who's snugglier." El noted, pointing to the kitten.
(Eh. We’re surviving rn, the house got pretty torn up with this last one so I haven’t been online too much)
Ollie almost spit his tea out onto the floor, choking on the sip he’d taken. “ oh you can’t just say that!” Ollie said laughing hard through his coughs as he started to breath again.
Ollie’s laugh sounded the same way a Vanilla cake tasted. Sweet and hearty. It was a rare occasion for Ollie to fully laugh like this but the mans comment had caught him off guard by a mile. He watched as the kitten skittered off Ollie, as the sudden jerk wasn't an anticipated movement. “ you really have no filter do yah?” he asked, looking up at ray.
Ollie tried his best to calm down, gaining his composure back “ I don't know how you got such a snuggly kitten, usually their very playful at this age with teething and all.” he noted
(I'm glad y'all are doing relatively well, hope you recover soon and everything works out. )
Elias couldn't help but laugh incredulously at Ray, Ollie's laughter contagious and a nice change to the usually quiet mornings. "I'm begging you, don't use that on your first date with Liv." He gently nudged Ray's shoulder, who tried to swat him away. Elias scooted away, only putting him closer to Ollie. He gave an apologetic look but made no move to scoot back to his original spot, both fearing Ray's retaliation and giving into his own little selfish desire of wanting to be just a bit closer to Ollie. It also allowed Gio to clamor back into his lap, settling with an indignant huff as he decided on who to lay on. "I don't even think she has any interest in me. She can't possibly after I basically helped Ainsely kidnap her pup." he wailed, frowning into his cup when he found it empty. Elias felt for his friend, knowing how good of a person Ray was and the situation he had been forced into hadn't been the best first impression. "Give her time. She needs to make sure Ollie isn't in any danger here before she opens up to you. I don't think all bets are off the table, considering she seems interested before." He noted, slightly jerking his hand back when he felt Gio naw at his palm. He huffed a laugh and flipped the kitten over, play fighting with him in his lap. "Oh, he very much loves to play." He assured Ollie, glancing over at the omega and letting his gaze wander for a bit, now that he was closer. Other than his eyes that always managed to draw Elias' attention, El found himself captivated by the small details. How fluffy and soft his hair looked, the way glitter from the night before still clung to it and caught the light at certain angles, his long eyelashes, the slight curl of his lips when he smiled- catching and sucking in a breath, Elias returned his oddly wandering attention back to the present. "No, not unless there's someone he wants to impress, or respects is around," El replied, smirking when Ray opened his mouth to protest. "That's not true! I respect you! We've just been friends for so long that I feel comfortable being myself around you." He reasoned with a grin of his own.
"mhm, sure." El rolled his eyes playfully before standing and depositing Gio on the couch. "I'm going to go change before we head out for the day." He announced, taking the empty mugs from Ray and Ollie to put in the sink before he disappeared to his bedroom.
Ray sobered a bit and tilted his head towards Ollie. "I really do hope you like it here. Even with everything going on and the deal you made with Ainsley, I hope you actually grow to like El, even as just a friend, if you're not looking for anything serious."
