(Child nooo-)
Resh took a deep breath, closing his eyes. “If I’m being completely honest… if you had died here, and I didn’t do anything to help, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself. It doesn’t matter whether I know you or not.” Resh shifted his position, now sitting cross-legged on the ground. “And any decent person would be worried about someone wandering this far into Eden. You can’t be reborn here.”
Juni let go of Resh’s arm and crawled into his lap, leaning back against him. It seemed like she couldn’t stay still for very long. Resh wrapped his arms around her and smiled at her, then glanced back up at the girl. “What’s your name?” Might as well try to start a conversation while they were all stuck here.
(turning up the dial on teen angst and trauma what)
Ren sighed and spoke under her breath, just barely able to be heard. “Maybe that was the point…”
And if any “decent people” would be worried about someone this far in Eden, then she supposed that she didn’t know any until now. If this man was decent. But if one was supposed to be worried, then should she be worried about Resh and his child being this far in Eden as well?
She glanced at Resh and lowered her wings just slightly. “Ren.”
A last name didn’t matter. The one she had before, she decided long ago she would never use it. So for now, Ren was the only name she had. She didn’t know if that would change.
Resh’s ears twitched slightly, and he tilted his head at Ren. “It’s nice to meet you, Ren.”
Resh flinched again and squeezed his eyes shut as more lightning struck. He slowly opened one eye to perk out of the cave’s entrance. The storm outside was now raging, the winds blowing rocks all over the place and dark crystals raining from the active volcano. He pinned his ears against the sides of his head, completely frozen other than that one movement.
Juni chirped and covered her face with her hands, wrapping her cloak around herself and drawing closer to Resh. She moved her fingers slightly to peek at Ren, continuing to stare at her.
(Resh is a cat)
Ren looked up to see the chaos outside. After seeing that sight, she was glad Resh found her when he did. She looked up at him, noting his fear. And it seemed his moth was fairly frightened as well. Should she be equally as frightened?
Ren decided to distract herself from that thought by starting conversation. Maybe that would help the situation? “What’s your name?”
She was addressing the child, since she had been staring at Ren for pretty much the entire time they had met. And since she knew Resh’s name, she might as well know his kids name. Who knows how long she’ll be around them. Preferably not long.
( @Moonrais For you to stalk if so desired)
(Skykids in general act like cats)
(I purposefully made their ears longer so they could maneuver them a little :})
Juni slowly brought her hands away from her face. “…Juni.” Her voice was equally as shaky as the rest of her body. She pulled the hood of her cloak over her head, whining slightly.
Resh was shaking a bit as well, but not nearly enough to be noticeable. It wasn’t necessarily the storm itself that was scaring him, it was the noise. He already felt overwhelmed, but he didn’t want to show too much weakness in front of Ren or Juni. He heard Juni whine and hugged her a little tighter, gently shushing her. “It’s okay, Juni.”
Ren nodded slightly at Juni.
Juni and Resh. Hopefully that wouldn't be too hard to remember… Juni's at least. Resh would be harder to forget.
The noise of the storm was deafening. How much longer would this last? Not only was she on edge, but so were those two. No matter how much Resh tried to hide his anxiety, Ren could tell he wasn't good at it.
She hugged her knees to her chest and rested her head. She didn't know what to do.
(He’s masking better than you think he is my friend)
(Pff)
(Not good enough ✨)
Juni shut her eyes and covered her ears, and she was clearly overwhelmed as well. A few tears fell from her eyes, and Resh wrapped his own cloak around Juni, trying his best to comfort her.
After what felt like an eternity had passed, the storm started calming down. Resh looked toward the cave’s entrance. The thunder had died down and the dark crystals were no longer raining down on Eden. Rocks were still being blown around, but that wasn’t uncommon. He glanced at Ren, then looked down at Juni, who had poked her head out of his cloak to watch as the storm calmed down.
(so like. Where does Resh. Where does he live in Eden)
(is Resh a caveman)
Ren had resorted to closing her eyes and covering her ears to block out as much of the storm she could. When it sounded like it had died down she looked up at the cave entrance. It didn't really look any better, realistically, but she had to remember where she was.
Without looking away from the cave entrance, she spoke up. "Does that… happen often?" That probably sounded like a stupid question to them.
(does he just vibe with the krills)
(Rn I'm imagining he just lives in a sparsely decorated or barely decorated cave)
(I don’t t h i n k it’s a cave)
(This is defo one of the things I yell at Luna about 😔)
(then he Vibes With The Krills)
(With a child)
(I have no idea)
(Did he Build A House???)
(I Do Not Know Please Madam I’m Trying My Best)
Resh looked at Ren and nods. “Unfortunately, yes. I don’t like to venture out a lot because of it.” He opened up his cloak a bit as Juni crawled out of his lap.
Juni continued to stare at Ren, walking over to her and standing right in front of her. She just stared, barely even making eye contact.
(Sorry for smal response)
Ren shifted uncomfortably in her place on the floor. Why was Juni staring at her so much? She stood up and walked up to the cave entrance, looking around outside. It was mostly just significantly more broken rocks and dark crystals than there was before.
How did these two survive in a place like this? She had a swarm of questions for Resh already. But maybe she should say something in response to him first. “They would be bearable if they weren’t as loud.”
(Because moff. moff do stare)
(Ren thinks moff should stare at something else /j)
(Moff will not stare at something else)
