Paisley giggled quietly and entered before him, glancing around the shop excitedly.

" sit anywhere I own the place," he said and smiled

Paisley’s eyes widened. “You own this place?! That’s amazing! I love it here!”

Kenji chuckled, " sit, sit." He said softly

Paisley quickly did as he commanded, her stomach erupting in butterflies as she did so.

Kenji sat opposite of her and handed her an order sheet

Paisley took it obediently. “What’s good?” she asked, tilting her head sweetly.

" the mint mocha, My personal fav"

Paisley nodded, putting the menu down without looking at it. “That’s what I’m getting!”

" oh! Ahm alright!" He said and smiled

Paisley grinned. “So tell me about yourself, Kenji.”

" well I play, actually I'm in a band. cheezy I know. but it's fun. were looking for a singer to help
me out."

Paisley rested her chin in her palm. “What instruments do you play?” she asked.

"violin and my voice"

Paisley's eyes lit up. "Oh wow! That's amazing!"

kenji chuckled " glad you think so" he said and admired her smile " you?"

"What do you mean?" Paisley asked, tilting her head curiously. "What instruments can I play?"

" that and what do you do?"

Paisley smiled. "I used to play the piano. Not anymore though. But I work as a reading specialist for elementary-level kids."

" sounds like your really doing some good for this world," he said and scooted closer. as their drinks got there Kenji smiled, pulling out a small flask and spiking his coffee.

The young woman flushed. "I'm doing my best." Her eyes followed his flask and widened curiously. "You're drinking?"

"mmhhm" he hummed in agreement

Paisley sipped from her coffee and observed him. "Any particular reason?"

" just cause. want some?" he asked and held out the flask for her

Paisley hesitated for a moment before nodding shyly. "Alright. Just a bit, though. Not too much!"

Kenji chuckled "all right," he said and took her drink, pouring the last of his flask into her drink and handing it back.

Paisley's eyes widened. It had looked like a lot of alcohol from her point of view. "Cheers," she whispered, taking a sip.

kenji chuckled, bumping her cup with his and taking a drink.

Paisley sipped hesitantly, letting the coffee and alcohol rush down her throat. She coughed briefly after she finished her sip for the moment.

kenji held back his laugh " you good?"
