"I've learned it," August snapped, glaring at the small space that had opened up in front of him. "June, I swear to everything. Cooperate or you're not getting leaves for a very long time." The space turned down, almost like a disappointed face, then opened into a space the size of a small suitcase. August quickly stuck his hand in, rooting around for the bottle he was looking for. Something cool got nudged into his hand–probably June trying to get back into his good graces. August pulled out the bottle, uncorked it, and popped the Salva into his mouth. Yes, he probably had a problem. But everyone around there did. It was the only way to live. He dropped the bottle back into the space just in time for Janus to grab his wrist. "Am I really?" August demanded, whirling around. He was already starting to feel better. His headache was nothing but a whisper, and he felt a lot stronger too. It was amazing what taking more than the bare minimum of Salva needed to live did. "I'm already outside the hospital. And I dare say I feel a lot better than I did in there." August glanced down at the hand around his wrist. He wouldn't be able to get out of that, not if the guy was really as strong as he claimed. August didn't want a broken wrist on top of everything else. "Aww, come on, Janus, I think we both know I'm not very good at that." August gave him a cold smirk. "I'm not going back into that hospital. I'm not going to go to jail, either. I'd rather get decapitated."
Janus was not sure what was happening. Whatever it was, he could not really move at the moment. The man just simply stood there and watched the space and August interact. His attention wavered for a few moments until he heard the thief speak again.
He noticed how all of the sudden, the other looked more well than just a moment ago. At first he thought that he is possibly just seeing things since it's been a day, but then he blinked and realizes that it was true.
To him, he felt as if the air around them was starting to get warmer. His blood was boiling as they rushed through his veins. Part of him wanted to just let go of this guy while the other was assuring to hold on as long as he could.
How long can he take this? The more he stares at August, the more he will start to lose his sanity. Absentmindly, his grip on the thief's wrist tightened. The corners of his lips reluctantly turned up into a bittersweet smile. "You steal, you are terrible with directions, and you cannot comply," He sighed. "Ah…What good of use are you as a chosen one then?"
Letting go of August, he was quick to lift the thief up and throw him over his shoulder. "Try me, August. Please do….Try me." And with that, he began to walk off towards the entrance of the hospital.
"That's the whole point," August grumbled, glaring at Janus. "I'm not a chosen one. It's some sort of mistake." He was expecting Janus to start pulling him back towards the hospital but not at all for Janus to pick him up and throw him over his shoulder. "Hey! What are you doing?" August gasped. He couldn't believe Janus had done that. What was he thinking? This was ridiculous! This was actually worse than being decapitated. "Let go of me!" Obviously, Janus wasn't going to listen to him. But it was his first reaction. His second reaction was a lot more useful. August dissolved into shadow and slipped out of Janus' grasp. He reappeared a few paces away from Janus, shooting him a huge glare. "Don't ever do that again."
"In a better world it probably would be, but the two of us are here now. And sadly we are in the same position." August suddenly disappearing and slipping out of his grasp caught him off guard. Janus abruptly stopped then turned around. While doing so, he picked up on the other guy's glare. Curling his lips back, his shoulders lightly bounced for a bit until he tensed up and sighed. Rubbing the bridge of his nose, he shook his head. Letting his hand drop to his side, he walked up to August. "Alright, whatever you say, pretty boy, though I can't promise anything," He sighed. Shoving his hands into his pockets, his eyes flickered to the ground for a moment. "Well, I hate wasting time, so I'm just going to head back, get my jacket, and go. Chasing idiots for hours is making me hungry."
Janus lifted his chin up to look at August then gave him a quick wave, "Bye babe." He gave a grin before turning around once again and walking back into the hospital.
August was expecting Janus to try and pick him up again, or to make good on the promise of crushing various bones in his body. He was not at all expecting for the man to just let him go. He blinked in surprise, both at Janus' words and the fact that he was watching his back disappear into the hospital. That turned out way better than he thought it would. This was actually incredible. Now all he had to do was get back to his part of the city and avoid getting arrested for looking slightly suspicious. It was a very real possibility that would happen, and it would be his luck if it led to him running into Janus. Again. August turned and started walking away from the hospital. Time to pretend to be someone with money, even though he looked nothing like someone with money.
