Ace and Spade continued bickering, and eventually, they both settled down. Ace yawned and began to doze off, still laying on Spade's lap. Spade huffed and relaxed his muscles, then began to doze off as well.

Zaldi closed their eyes and took a deep breath, reopened them and scanned the room watching the two kids and then saw Finn reach into his pockets. They shrugged and figured he was checking for his phone. Zaldi realized what a good idea that was and went to go search their pockets only to find it empty, they didn't even have the ring, which made them panic.
Ace and Spade had already fallen asleep by now. They seemed pretty cozy; almost as if they hadn't just fallen into a random area along with two complete strangers.
When Finn saw the other fall asleep he turned to Zaldi. "I'm a witch. what are you?" he kept a hand in his pocket.
Zaldi looked over at Finn a little shocked and a bit confused, they slowly got up a bit concerned for what Finn's hand was in his pocket. They wanted to answer, but didn't want to share the whole truth, "I'm immortal." they said nervously and cautiously asked, "What do you mean by witch?"
"Like you know potions, spells, and stuff," He said nervously. In his world, All nonhumans know about other nonhumans, or at least as far as he knows. Then again the only immortals he knows of are vampires and gods. "What do you mean by immortal?"
Zaldi smiled and thought about how cool that must be. They hadn't seen or heard of witches for a long time in their world, except for the young kids who were self-proclaimed witches. Meanwhile they were trying to think of an answer of how they would describe it, "Oh, um like I can't die, so I get left behind by everyone at some point… Or do you mean..um.. what type of immortal I am?"
Finn nodded. "Yeah what kind?" He asked. He really hoped they weren't a vampire. He'd only encountered one in person and that wasn't an experience he wanted to relive.
Zaldi shifted a bit uncomfortably. "Oh um just your average used-to-be angel I guess. I guess I'd be considered a deity of sorts, but I'm not that powerful…." They pulled at their sleeves, they hoped Finn wouldn't be scared of them or something.
Finn eyes widened slightly but he nodded. Ok, definitely a different world. maybe time line? "that sounds… interesting. I've never heard of something like that before," He admitted.
Zaldi was worried they had freaked him out. "Um, yeah…" They said trying to put on a smile. "So, you're a witch right? What types of magic do you do?"
Finn studied Zaldi for a moment. "I mainly focus on potions," he said relaxing on one of the comfortable couches.
Zaldi racked his brain for the last time they heard of potions. They remember the books they had read, "Like love potions? poison?"
"Sort of. Love potions are strictly banned and poisons are regulated but I make a lot of healing and strength potions. Used to sell them with my father," He said looking down slightly at the mention of his father.
Ace and Spade stayed asleep for a while before Spade finally woke up. Ace rolled over, falling off of Spade's lap and hitting the ground face-first. "Owch-" Ace cried out, and Spade lifted Ace up. "Mmm… Careful next time.," Spade warned Ace, kind of like a parent would to their child.
Finn looked over at them. tilting his head slightly.
Zaldi looked quizzically at Finn, He seemed offset by the mention of his father. They looked over at the two kids, "Those two are Ace in Spade, it's a little obvious who is who." The smiled softly. They had felt a little safer in the room, even if it was in the slightest.
Ace whimpered, and Spade huffed. "Seriously, watch out," Spade told Ace, still using a kinda parental tone. Ace and Spade then realized Zaldi was looking at them, and they looked over at them. The two of them waved.
Zaldi gave a sad but absent smile. Their heart felt low and lonely. They had spaced out while thinking about their past
Spade immediately noticed something was up. "Hey, Zaldi, you good?" Spade asked, his tone made careful so as to not make them worry. "God, Spade, you're such a mom," Ace said dramatically, resulting in Spade flicking him on the forehead. Ace yelped, then hushed up.
Zaldi absently shook their head and snapped back to the room, "Uh, what was that?"
"I asked if you were okay, you seemed pretty out of it for a sec," Spade replied, still speaking gently. Ace groaned and snatched Spade's phone out of his jacket pockets. "I'm gonna borrow this," Ace said quickly, then immediately turned the phone on. "Ugh, a password, seriously?!" Ace let out another groan, and Spade took his phone back. "Yes, a password. Now hush up, Ace," Spade told Ace, then directed his attention back to Zaldi.
"Oh yeah, I'm good." Zaldi tried to sound convincing but doubted it actually came out correctly. They though about their past and when they had landed here and what he was missing out on.
Spade nodded warily as if he didn't believe their statement but was trying to seem like he did. Ace poked Spade on the cheek, and Spade slapped his hand away. "Ace, quit it," Spade scolded Ace. "You really are a mom," Ace replied, followed by a soft groan.
Zaldi let out a quiet sigh and sat down on the nearest couch. They hugged their knees to their chest and tried to take deep breaths. they were a bit sad looking over at Ace and Spade. They had lost the person/people they loved most. They looked at the ground and tried to think of how they could possibly get out of here. They needed to apologize.
Ace and Spade had begun bickering again. They were both completely distracted, paying no attention to their surroundings.
Finn crossed his legs. "do you think they are humans?" Finn asked. Whispering so hopefully Zaldi would be the only one that hears.
Zaldi looked at Finn, "I don't know. There's a high chance, but then again the weird eye thing." They whispered back. They coughed a little, and suddenly flushed, they were scared they might've brought attention to themselves and Finn and the conversation at hand. "I wouldn't worry about it, they seem harmless." they whispered again anyway.
