@ElderGod-Carrots

Being dragged along wasn't exactly what he wanted, however Bryce didn't protest. Especially when he was pushed under the cover of the porch and out of the sunlight. His shoulders sagged a little as he rested against the wall next to the door, closing his eyes with a slightly amused smile, "Bryce. Bryce Aldin. A pleasure to meet you, Cyprus." And thanks for practically saving my life this morning and not being an asshole.

@callycat

"Pleasure to meet you too." He grinned as he found the right rock, holding the key aloft for a few seconds before he remembered himself. It was quick work, getting Bryce inside and settled on the couch. His house was nice, if a little boring. Off grey couch, dented wood coffee table, beige walls. He'd been living here for five years and he still hadn't quite gotten around to decorating anything except his room. "I've got some blood bags in the fridge if you're hungry. Not sure how much they'll do for you though, I know your kind needs a little more to get by."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Bryce took in the house for a moment before he rested his head back against the seat, releasing a breath and closing his eyes once again. The house was.. not quite the white marble and water features of his own but nice in its own right, he supposed. He didn't comment on it, "Yeah, one of those would be fantastic right now," He mumbled, rubbing at his face with both hands, "Hopefully it'll be enough and if not I can just sleep the rest of the hunger off until tonight." Then he could find someone to feed from and be satisfied.

@callycat

It was a fairly open floor plan, half a wall dividing the kitchen from the living room. After a few seconds of rifling through he fridge Cyprus tossed Bryce a pair of blood bags, taking one for his own. He was running low, he'd have to hit up the blood bank again soon. "Whatever, just don't freak out anyone in the neighborhood. And don't get all bitey on me either, I won't hesitate to break your jaw if you try to steal a drink."

@ElderGod-Carrots

The Toreador snorted, taking the bags gladly, "I'm not dumb enough to try my luck there. I'd rather not bruise up this beautiful face anytime soon." He opened one of the bags, placing the other in his lap as he started to drink. The overwhelming since of hunger slowly started to fade away as he did so. He realised it had been longer then he thought since he'd last drank, too caught up in the alcohol from last night to even notice it. Oh well, he was better now, grateful that Cyprus had the bags handy.

@callycat

Cyprus drained his back quickly. He'd never been the biggest fan of bagged blood—it always tasted off somehow, like metal coating his tongue—but it was at least better than having to hunt and drain an actual person. He snorted quietly at the comment, tossing the plastic casing in the trash. "Yeah, yeah, don't get all cocky on me. You're cute but you're not that cute." He stripped off his holster and tossed it on the table and then, after a few seconds of hesitation, pulled the knives out of his boots too. "Feel free to make yourself at home too, spare room's down the hall. First door on the left."

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Aw you think I'm cute?" He cooed, going back to draining the first bag before starting on the second. Bryce didn't know if it was just because he was a full blood or not, but it didn't matter where the blood had come from, bagged or other, it had always tasted good to him, even the tangy taste bagged blood had, "How sweet of you. You're not too bad yourself, even with the grey hairs." He noted all the weapons Cyprus had pulled out and made a note to not piss him off anytime soon, especially now he was staying here for a little bit.

@callycat

"Well I'm not blind." He rolled his shoulders, muscles flexing beneath the thin fabric of his shirt. It wasn't quite cold enough to layer on flannels yet, much to his dismay. "Anyone would think you're cute." He ran a hand through his hair when Bryce brought it up, a tad self conscious, and then covered the movement by yanking off his boots. "And you don't need to return the compliment if you don't want to, y'know. I get that I'm old."

@ElderGod-Carrots

"I'm being serious there, you know," Bryce replied, finishing his second bag and placing the empty packets of plastic on the coffee table, "Honestly, you are pretty good looking, it isn't just a compliment for compliment for compliment thing that most people these days expect." He waved a hand idly before moving to take off his own shoes, the dull ache in his heel from being on his feet all night starting to show.

@callycat

Cyprus hummed, skepticism clear in his tone, and made his way over to the couch. "Whatever you say, Aldin." He reached up again, rolling a lock of grey hair between his fingers. It'd go all grey soon, maybe even white, and then he'd look even more ridiculous than he already did. "You don't need to be all polite with me. I'm not going to toss you out into the sun, I'm not some monster."

@ElderGod-Carrots

He raised a brow, leaning back into his couch with his arms crossed, "So you'd rather I be rude to you? That's a first. I've never heard anyone essentially be asked for someone to be rude to them." A smile tugged at his lips, amused and confused at once, "I'm not an asshole all the time, and you did basically save my life back there so being polite is the least I can do in thanks."

@callycat

Cyprus laughed, stretching his arms out on top of the couch cushions as he leaned back. "I'm not telling you to be a dick, I'm telling you that you don't have to be all pleases and thank yous just because I saved your ass." It was surprisingly easy to relax. Normally a full vamp would be putting all his senses on edge but Bryce was so civil. Nothing about him screamed Toreador except for the entrance he'd made about four hours ago. "It's annoying for me. I like it when people are honest."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Bryce snorted, running a hand through his golden blonde hair, "Fine fine, I see your point," He fiddled with the necklace he was wearing, all silver and shiny and definitely very expensive. The alcohol was finally starting to knock him out, exactly like he'd asked for earlier. Then again, he hadn't been expecting to hide out in a thin-blood's house until sundown. Sure, he might be a bit of an asshole towards them, but falling asleep in his house felt wrong to him.

@callycat

The necklace caught Cyprus' attention again and this time he didn't dismiss it. "Good. What's with the fancy jewelry?" He didn't have near enough money to avoid a piece that nice, but he didn't really need it. The most adventurous he'd ever gotten was jewelry was a piercing in his right ear, and even then he'd let it close up once the internet fell into fashion and he didn't feel the need to signal anymore. "You've been fiddling with it all night."

@ElderGod-Carrots

The full vamp blinked then looked down at the piece of jewelry. Bryce hadn't even noticed he was doing it, a habit that he'd picked up over the years for some reason or another. A nervous habit? Maybe, some unconscious tick he had, always another possibility, "Oh? I dunno, I like it, I guess. And anything else shiny and expensive. Dunno why, just do." He didn't answer why he was fiddling with it, in all honestly he didn't know.

@callycat

Cyprus rolled his eyes. "Toreador," he said, without much venom, and then slowly reached over to run his fingers over the smooth metal. It was pretty, even if it probably had been ridiculously overpriced. "And here I thought you were the sensible sort. How much money do you have to toss around on things like this?" His eyes flicked up to Bryce's face, full of lazy amusement.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Bryce bit his lip, "I am sensible," He mumbled, though he didn't sound too sure of himself in the answer, "As for money? Well.. I mean probably more then I need, means I can spare a few on pretty things like this." He'd had money before he was turned, perks of having family in high places with more then enough to spare and somehow he'd managed to weasel his way into receiving it. And a couple illegal jobs here and there hadn't hurt either, only adding to the money he already had. A complicated situation and one he didn't think about. He had the money, why should anything else matter?

@callycat

The response earned another eye roll and a sarcastic mhmm and then Cyprus was pulling away again to make himself comfortable. He couldn't imagine spending much money on anything he couldn't use, but then again he and Bryce were very different people. His own bank account was full of money he'd been saving since the 90s and probably wouldn't ever spend. He just liked the security of an emergency fund, it made things less stressful. "Well I can't say it's not a nice piece. D'you spend a lot of money on that sort of thing?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

All the other did was shrug a shoulder, glancing down at his lap as he chewed the inside of his cheek, "I mean sometimes. I've got the money to spare like I said and… well some things are too pretty to just let sit in a store for ages." It sounded dumb now that he said it out loud, but Bryce had always been attracted to things that had looked dainty, beautiful, valuable. Sure, some of it was useless, but he liked having them. And he knew eventually if he didn't want them he could sell them for a good price.

@callycat

Cyprus hummed quietly, letting the thoughts turn over in his head as his eyes lingered on the necklace and then Bryce's neck. He wondered how much trust he was being given right now. Wondered if Bryce was nervous the way Cyprus might've been if he'd had a different full blood here. He didn't look like it. "I guess." His eyes flicked up to Bryce's face, those piercing blue eyes. "It's not like you can't resell it if you need. You like this sort of thing? Like… luxury items?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

A smile danced on the edges of Bryce's lips as he nodded, looking back up at Cyprus, "Wasn't it obvious? I don't like them necessarily for the bragging rights that come with the items, more so they just look nice." And nice to paint. Moonlight mixed with silver had always been a combination that intrigued him, and one he had learned to love. It was mainly why he didn't buy anything gold, the colour off putting compared to the delicate shine of silver, "And I like collecting them."

@callycat

Cyprus snorted. "Well I'm glad you're not going to be obnoxious about it. I suppose there is something nice about them, if you normally go for that sort of thing." He'd always favored the more mundane parts of life, especially now that he was a vampire and his humanity was too far away for him to really reach. It left him feeling grounded, living in his plain little house with it's well kept lawn and beige walls. "Makes me wonder what your house looks like, honestly."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Bryce smirked a little, then shrugged, "Feel free to come visit sometime, as long as you promise not to break anything." He didn't care if he did, he knew he had too many fancy things in his home so one or two breaking wouldn't be the end of the world. Last time he'd had guests over they'd smashed a window with a golf ball. Better then one of his trinkets but cost a fortune to replace.

@callycat

Cyprus laughed quietly, glancing over at Bryce with a small smile on his face. "Well thanks for the offer, but I can't exactly pop by any time I want. I don't even know where your house is, kid." And even if he did, he'd be wary. Bryce seemed like the type to throw parties and Cyprus really didn't want to be around any full blood who wasn't him.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Bryce ran a hand through his hair, smiling softly, “Fair is fair. But if you ever stumbled across it on one of your hikes then come say hi. If you want.” He shrugged. He knew the possibility was slim, thin and full bloods didn’t exactly mix well together. Cyprus seemed nice, though, and he wouldn’t mind spending more time with him, even if he was a lot older and would probably reprimand him for anything he did wrong.

@callycat

"You say hikes like you think I'm lying or something." He sounded amused, though he was really just zeroing in on it because he wasn't sure if he wanted to accept the offer. Bryce was agreeable enough and he'd like to get to know him better, but he was wary of just… going to a fullblood's home. Especially when he didn't know what would be waiting for him inside. "But… I suppose if I do happen upon your home, I'll be obliged to come in and say hello."

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Wonderful. Don't feel like you have to, I understand if you wouldn't want to." He could tell the other was hesitant, and he had every right to be. Even though Bryce knew he wasn't going to hurt him, Cyprus didn't know that. They had just met, and, just because they were the same race, didn't mean they weren't from two completely separate worlds. Full bloods had a rep for not being the best, being cautious was probably a good thing.

@callycat

"Well I want to talk to you." He nudged his shoulder against Bryce's with a soft sigh. "You're nice and decently interesting and that's more than I can say for most of the people I know, I'm just… wary, I suppose." His hand slid up the back of his neck, resting on top of the half-moon brand. The skin was rough beneath his fingers, crudely inked over to make sure it would never fade. "Your type hasn't always been the kindest to mine."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Bryce followed the movement, to the brand. He felt his stomach twist uncomfortable and be resisted the urge to grab his own neck, to see if he had a mark himself. He knew he didn't, knew that he would never truly understand what Cyprus and his type had to go through. His features softened as he sighed though his nose, nodding a little, "I know. And quite frankly I find it stupid that there is a divide between full and thin bloods," He bit his lip, "But… I don't think it's going to change anytime soon."

@callycat

Cyprus winced when he noticed where Bryce's eyes had landed and made like he was going to pull up on the collar of his jacket until he remembered it wasn't there. He pulled his hair out of it's ponytail instead, letting the curtain of black-grey cover the ugly mark. "It's not. You're lot's a bit rude about my existence. You unincluded, of course." He laughed weakly. "But let's set that aside for now, yeah? Could you pass me my jacket? There's a bit of a chill in here."
