“Sisters are like that.”

"They would've died if I hadn't intervened!" said Firiko, "Honestly it's hard being the youngest in a trio…"

“I can testify to that.” Jack replied.

"Hey Reed, do you have any siblings?"

“Dead twin brother.” Reed replied awkwardly.
“Wait, What?! He’s dead?” Jack asked.
Reed nodded. “After I left. We were hiding out and he got sick. It went by so quickly…..” Reed’s voice broke.

Firiko tensed.. "I- uhm.." he didn't know what to say. Stupid! Idiot!

Jack pulled Reed into a hug, which Reed quickly wormed his way out of. “It was a few months ago. I’m over it.” He lied.

"Sorry for bringing that up…" said Firiko sheepishly…

“Don’t worry about it.” Reed said. “No big deal.” He lied again.

Firiko watched Reed for a moment, knowing full well he was probably lying, before continueing the pace through the woods.

After all that, all the fighting and torture, he died of the flu, and I couldn’t even save him. Reed had finally sort of stopped having these thoughts, and now they were coming back.

(How exactly does one die of the flu? There must've been other factors…)
Firiko kept an eye on Reed, still kicking himself for accidentally bringing up that sort of thing. I can't imagine what it would be like to actually lose Luma… Or Shiara…
(Guess what Firiko? You will lose Luma eventuallly! Laughs like an evil maniac)

(Actually, you can, especially if you don’t have proper care. And hypothermia and malnutrition would’ve played a part as well in his death.)
Reed walked a little farther ahead than Jack, unable to look him in the eye.

(OOF…)
Firiko ended up shifting, leading the trio along in silence.

“He asked for Anna, before he died, you know.” Reed said, breaking the silence, speaking to Jack. “She was his best friend. They were closer than anybody.”

Firiko couldn't help hearing him, but he still felt bad about bringing it up.

“I’ll tell her.” Jack replied to him sadly.
“Thanks…”
“Can we stop for a minute?” Jack asked.

Firiko paused, "What is it?"

“I’m going to talk to my sister.” Jack replied opening a portal, revealing a blonde girl.
“What’s up?”
Jack raised his eyebrows, wondering about he blonde hair. As he watched, the hair turned brown. “Jesse’s dead, Anna.” His face fell.
Anna mimicked the face by accident, wiping at her eyes. “What?”
Reed appeared over Jack’s shoulder. “Got sick. Died.” Reed said flatly.
“I-I’m- how long?”
“A few months.” Reed replied, wiping at his own eyes.
“I’m so sorry.” Anna said. “Close the portal, Jack.”
“Are you Alright, Anna?” Jack asked concernedly.
“Close the portal.”
Jack did so.
When Anna disappeared, Reed sat down and buried his face in his hands.

Firiko turned to watch, I wish I'd never brought it up…
Never brought what up? A female voice chimed in his head,
Shiara?! Firiko didn't react physically, what are you doing?
Checking in on you, and giving you a heads up came Luma's voice.
On what?
Dad and Arthur have vanished again, and Verick is causing problems
He threatened to hurt you and Shiara, I wanted to warn you in case he sends you any trouble

Firiko felt their warmth flood through him as if they were giving him a mental hug,
thanks guys

Reed took a deep breath. “Ok. I’m good. Sorry.”

Firiko gave him a weak smile, "I hate to be the task master but we do need to keep going, otherwise those goons from last night might find us.."

“Yeah. Come on.”

Firiko continued to lead the way, trying not to think too much about Reed's brother, or about the warning he'd gotten from his siblings. If Verick goes through with it it could cause some major issues for us..

Jack knew sister was heartbroken. She had loved Jesse like a brother. They were closer than siblings. She had had a better relationship with him than she had Jack.

Firiko kept padding on, lost in his own thoughts, until he stopped for a moment, freezing as he stared at the ground.
