So, currently in my story its approaching autumn, and as an Aussie (at least in sydney) I have NO clue what its like, literally. Its either really really hot or really really wet. Does someone mind explain how autumn feels, the atmosphere and stuff like that?

Well, coming from someone in the southern US, the summers are very hot and the winters are kind-of cold to really cold (depends on the year). Autumn is basically just the transition. The summer heat starts wearing off, autumn storms start rolling in. It gets very humid during those storms, but sometimes (like now) the heat will come back for a bit afterward. It’ll finally wear off about the late September or mid-October. Then, you get cooler days and sometimes more windy days. It’s generally a mostly pleasant temperature until November when it gets more cold than warm. It’s also the start of allergy season, as the leaves on most of the trees fall off and any other plants start preparing for overwintering, so that’s fun (major eye roll because allergies are my bane).

There’s probably more to this description from my area, but I just woke up. Hope this helps.

well,im from greece and autumn here is pretty much warm up to mid-October,then usually it starts raining more oftenly, but usually the rain is not that intense.the temperature starts dropping from october and it usually goes to about 20-15°C. thought there's a lot of moisture throughout the whole season.but autumn is pretty much nothing too extraordinary (except last year's autumn,in which there were massive floods in September :'])
