forum Plot ideas for a fantasy/quest novel

I'm about half-way through my novel, mainly fantasy, although the plot is based mainly around a group of young, traveling magic-users on a quest. Just looking for some new plot ideas to add in. Please brainstorm below!

Ooh, I'm writing something similar! Here's a few ideas:
1) The group starts out with a common goal but a schism emerges when their opinions begin to differ.
2) Battle of who's in charge of the group, with horrible unintended consequences
3) Parents and/or relatives get involved in good or bad ways
4) Someone within the group commits a crime and becomes a fugitive, thus endangering the rest of the group
5) Double agent
6) Key member dies
7) They simply cannot accomplish their goal so they resolve to whittle it down and start something small
