forum Need a bit of help adding some structure to my plot

So my main character, Vep, kills himself on Earth in an apocalyptic-esq. world. He opens his eyes and he's in the Lands Of Elsewhere (my name for the universe that he's in). So he knows some basic things about the world because he has reoccurring dreams, but he doesn't know about the culture and everything,,, idk how to fix this,,,, hElp???

Maybe have him explore? Go to a marketplace or something and ask around? This could also be an opportunity to introduce your mentor character, if you have one.
