So, in my story, my MC crash lands on a planet.
It's an earth-like planet with bioluminescent flora and fauna, that's mainly rain forests and oceans, and looks roughly prehistoric.
I'm afraid it's going to turn out with too much of resemblance to Pandora from Avatar.
Thoughts?
Unless your MC transplants their intellect into a super-tall blue native and must save this lovely planet from Earthian exploitation, I'd say you should be fine. I don’t recall much ocean in Avatar, either - it was mainly trees.
Going with this bioluminescent rainforest vibe, if you develop your own fauna and flora and the peculiarities that make this world yours, your readers may not even have Avatar come to mind.
(Actually, part of the plot is saving the planet from Earthian exploitation, but that's later in the story)
Okay! Thank you!
