Post them here! Just nanowrimo problems/general writing problems you encounter during nanowrimo.
My current one is being stuck on how to write the next part for literally an hour and a half and finally being able to fix it with one sentence. Literally five words.
Waiting for critiques before I can start the next chapter. No offense to those who do it, I just like to have information on what I need to fix before I feel confident enough to move on.
Right now my problem is that my second chapter currently makes up 50 percent of my word count lmao. I feel like it’s too long but because of the format of the story I can’t split it up into separate chapters.
I’m not even finished with the chapter lol. I guess I’ll just deal with it being long.
Y'all!! I had the best advice given to me for nano:
Problem: when writing you feel like you need to edit as you go along. you end up staring at a word for like half an hour because it's just not right
Solution:
You don't need a fancy program to cover up the words, just turn the font color to the closest color to white as you possibly can! You can't see what you wrote! You can't edit!
I did it and wrote almost 1k words in the same amount of time I would have been choosing between the words "disgruntled" and "annoyed"
Hi! You're the one writing about the girl who can delete stuff right? I'm super curious about that!
Yup, that’s me! Whaddya wanna know about it?
Have you decided on a villain? What's the main plot line?
So there’s a girl in college, and staying up til 4 (as one does) instead of studying. She comes across a video online that really makes her angry, and kinda punches her laptop screen, wishing the video would go away. A weird jolt goes through her, and the video winds up deleted. She discovers it’s a power, but the more important things she deletes, the more painful/drawn out the jolt is. I might change some stuff around, but that’s what I’ve got so far. As for the villain, I’m either thinking a guy from her school or a mysterious dude from a different world possibly.
You mean you're giving someone the power to delete other people's posts? Where's that when you find something on Twitter, Tumblr, or 4chan? Actually, no, wait, make her DELETE 4chan! That could be her ultimate goal, getting rid of all the toxicity and word-sludge found online! Then, you could twist that into a free-speech thing, because she has morals when it comes to stuff. What would happen if she went too far, or if someone else had the same power and deleted things to increase their public image?
I mean, she can delete most everything, but she discovers the power when she accidentally deletes the video
I am literally so behind I’m extra stressed™️
I accidentally wrote the ending first???? Help.
I mean thats probably fine tbh
You can probably make it work like that or just write ahead of it the whole time
Ooo!!! I think it should escalate beyond deleting things online and go all the way to she tries to delete someone (who she thinks) is a toxic person out of her life and see the consequences of that and try and fix it…@Snowy_Levitate (sorry it took me so long to reply lol)
That’s an awesome idea, thanks! And no need to apologize
My NaNoWriMo problems:
When Grammarly tells me that I have like, 60 writing errors, but they're all for Premium only so I can choose to either correct my writing errors or eat.
@"(CW) Born_Confuzzled_Chameleon" OOf that sucks
I hate that.
I've found http://hemingwayapp.com/ to be really helpful and https://www.scribens.com/ to be semi-helpful. Also, Fighters Block is my favorite. Unfortunately, my school blocks it on my computer (whyyyy?????) but I use it on my phone and it's great. Just some tips
I used to use SAS Writing Reviser for my English papers last year. It’s completely free and mostly works except for run-on sentences.
I accidentally wrote the ending first???? Help.
that's fine! I wrote the ending to my novel first too. Well, I conceptualized it. I haven't actually written it. But I'm writing a tragedy and I'm like "yes. this is how it ends. cry."
ending first is so good!! I wish I had written my ending first
