So, I'm writing the musical of the ages
I've got a basic plot and half of two songs
My Story: Main Character is a hero, they saved the world with their best friend to fill all the stereotypes, essentially the sidekick with no backstory. The Sidekick eventually gets tired of the MC’s ego and decides “Nope, not anymore”, so, they break the villain out of jail and team up. The MC doesn’t even realize it till the end of a song when they go to ask the Sidekick. Of course the MC hears that the villain broke out of jail and then promptly assumes that the sidekick was kidnapped. Cut to the sidekick learning magic or whatever from the villain and they realize that they have a lot in common. Sprinkle in some romance there.
