Nine Inch Nails is definitely rock
Ice Nine Kills is more heavy metal

Correct. Also legit every NIN song I have listened to sounds like a drug trip, or sex.

It sounds like it or that's what the song is about?

I mean, some are about drugs and sex (cough The Perfect Drug, and Closer.) , and some just sound like drug trips (The Hand That Feeds, and Less Than.)

Nope. Just looked up the genre. I know Nine Inch Nails, though

@Yamatsu

Honestly, I feel that rock is a really big umbrella term. Given the fact that we have punk, grunge, metal (and all of its subgenres), indie, alternative, progressive, etc., I just have a giant-ass playlist with everything from Rush to Red Hot Chili Peppers to Mick Gordon.
