I want to see it, but I am not sure what my mom will think (She seems to have a thing against 80s and the like, and is wary of PG-13 ratings.)

that would be my dad. he doesnt care. and im not easily scared so idk why my mom freaks out. my little brother does, but who cares about him. he can go play his violent video games and yell at his buddies.

Funny thing is, my mom was fine with me watching things like Phantom of the Opera (2003) at a young age, but she freaked when she found out I watched the ending of Aliens on regular t.v.

I think we got off topic here. In my opinion, the movie wasn't as good as the book. Many of the plot devices, such as Aech's identity, the extra life, the reason why IOI was there in the first place, T.J. Miller's casting, and the fact that they GOT RID OF ALL THE RUSH REFERENCES EXCEPT FOR TOM SAWYER IN THE TRAILER kind of frost me. It became less about the story and nostalgia-porn and more about drawing in viewers with up-to-date references rather than sticking with the source material.
