How did we feel about it?
I’ve watched it (kinda. Still finishing the movie) and it’s pretty fine. Im liking it. I enjoyed seeing some familiar faces as well.
I loved it. Promie I won't spoil anything without hiding it in a spoiler tag. I've been in this fandom since 2014 when it started, and I love how it's grown. And, I grew up with Fraggle Rock, The Muppets, and The Labrynth. Jim Henson, RIP, His crew is so freaking good! The animatronics turned out so great, and I was so thrilled to see them moving and real!
Ikr! Same. I remember trying to piece together the lore. The only problem is the movie kinda- scrambles some of that lore I had already figured out.
It's a lot easier if you look at it like a multiverse. The games are one universe, the books another, and now the movie (possible movies) are another. Things can be cross referanced to help us figure things out, but the events of one may not be cannonical to another. (The books are actually multiple universes within themselves, but it's easier to lump them together more often than not.)
Slight spoilers for the books/games I guess:
Like how Afton's name was dropped as the bad guy in the books long before he was name dropped in the games, so we already knew it as his name. But, there was also a shark animatronic in the books, and that doesn't exist in the game cannon at all.True-
