annoying freshmen down to pat, hell yeah
imagine dreaming in comic book animation
wish i could say teenagers weren't this racist but yeah, yeah they are
holiday episodes, particularly christmas ones, are seriously just the best ever.
like i adore simple, cheesy feelgood moments in your average sitcom or tv show, and christmas episodes are just full of em. so many moments that just kinda make your chest fuzzy, or make you do that slightly giddy half laugh. iconic and i love them.
there's a movie on netflix with a kinda shit ending but the whole movie is generally really good
it's called incarnate and the mc is a parasite/demon 'evictor' in a wheelchair and nobody ever treats him like hes hindered by it except for a scene where a guy doesnt beat him up partially because of that. i think i'd like it a lot more as a book, with details about his team and how they got into it, and just generally more, but i actually liked it
things that would have happened if i wrote riverdale and not a dumbass, an ongoing thread–
veronica, aka baby's first introduction to feminism, would have watched someone close to her suffer the consequences of her being a shit to her MOB BOSS DAD a LOT sooner. like come on. im actually shocked he didnt just have one of her friends(archie.) killed. seriously.
betty's cErEAl KilLEr jeANS would have probably been used for comedy once she came to terms with them. come on. the jokes?? someone takes her food in the newspaper staff fridge and she's like 'i can and will kill you' and jughead, a loser, whips out the diagnosis. it could be so funny. same goes for her dad being a serial killer like??? 'what are you gonna do about it' 'call my dad lol. ykno. the black hood?'
not a change but a thought, and thats just that jughead actually has a lot of potential but also really needs to face the consequences of his actions more. i think him feeling like he has nothing to lose in endlessly chasing the bad guys is integral to his character, but its literally a fatal flaw tf. also yeah he can be cringey but he also kinda bops sometimes, and i loved that episode about him learning that the fights of bipoc are not his to fight and use any way he wants. just wish it stuck(side eyes the episode like five later)
okay sheriff keller is so interesting???? and i feel like the show would have benefit so much more from the teens originally being convinced that he's just an incompetent police officer, and then slowly realizing that he is entirely wrapped up in the whims and fists of politicians. that he wants justice, so bad, and its why he became an officer, but that he doesnt have the freedom they do. that he has to struggle to find a balance between keeping the town and his son and himself safe from these horrible people controlling him by keeping them placated, AND keeping everyone safe by ykno. doing police officer things. so ye ah
also if you see me in general chat typing up essays mind ya damn business
I support that and also can we keep Jughead as canonically aro-ace and have him and Betty just be super chill friends? Maybe even friends who are just casually affectionate and who people assume are a couple, but Betty knows what he is and isn't comfortable with and respects his boundaries?
while i do kinda like show!bettyxshow!jughead i agree tbh. there's already so little canon representation for ace and aro people alike, let alone together, that i feel like ignoring it for the sake of ~sexy~ is so dumb
And some of the people involved also kind of tried to queerbait by going "well, uh, just because they're romantically involved doesn't mean he's not ace!!" but then they have sex scenes where he's clearly into her so uhhh no.
Can I make an addition to this: put them in college??? why do they have to be in high school, everything could be the same and there wouldn't be the creepy aspect of having minors do sexual things
Still not over the existence of The Pole Dance Scene. Why.
like obviously a good chunk of minors have SEX but we don't….need to see it on tv
aLSO YES. cheryll didnt do it??? they literally made betty do it for damn near no reason. her bf was almost the leader of the serpents and his dad WAS so she…wouldnt have had to do it if she just said 'hey i want to be one of you but not do the dance'. obvi jughead didnt want her to be one, but if she had spoken to fp….
