I'm writing a story kind of based on the fae but I just got stuck, its based on a girl with 6 older brothers and their parents passed away. They're royalty and they each have a different form of elemental magic.

What exactly are you stuck with? Trying to find a plot? Do you have a plot, but you're having trouble moving it forwards?
Yeah I have a plot that basically my main character gets kidnapped by the ruler of the other realm and she has to spend a year with the antagonist before she was set free and she forms a friendship with the ruler's son and he helps her find a way out. I just need an intermediary.
So you need in between plot. Are you trying to fill in the year she was with the antagonist or the time between the beginning and the kidnapping?
The time between the beginning and the kidnapping
Hmmm… well, of course there are a lot of ways you could go about it. I think the main thing you don't want to do is give the whole "living her everyday life, then something crazy happens" plot line. It seems like there is a lot of room for foreshadowing, but it sounds like a transition that you don't want to hold out too long, otherwise it could become predictable or boring. I'm thinking, maybe you introduce the 6 brothers and give them each a small arc of character stuff with your MC, and make it seem like they're attached to their sister, so that when you have her kidnapped, the readers are left feeling terrible for the brothers she left behind. Depends on the effect you're going for.
Also, is it in first or third person?
first, it's in Katarin's point of view. I appreciate your help @Becfromthedead
No problem! Is that good enough to get you thinking a bit for now? I have to go to bed. If you have any more questions, I should be here at some point tomorrow.
Sounds perfect! thanks for the inspiration
