I have this world of floating islands, and there's nothing except what's pretty much Hell down below. What would happen to the water that flows there through rivers and where would it come from?
Underground springs (assuming that the ground is thick enough)
you know… in moana… when they go to the realm of monsters…. the water is just kinda… above them like a dome?
do that
That would be sick holy canoodle
lol thx this is why I watch disney movies
to help ppl in writing their own stuff
jk jk I watch disney movies bc I love them and the animation is pretty and the songs are usually pretty great
I feel like the water situation would depend on how big the islands were. If they could hold a small village, then just say something like magic.
If you're looking for this to be realistic or believable, then I would go for the whole underground springs and ancient glaciers thing. If you want to be a super cool dude, include islands that are now utterly barren due to the fact that the previous inhabitants used up all the water, or ones that are more successful because they know how to conserve and reuse water. Hell, you could have empires that are competing for water and annexing other islands that even have a large, stagnant puddle. Any water is better than no water!
Oh man, I just got a serious War of the Worlds vibe off of that! You could mix that with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and have the lower world either be actual Hell where the Big Bad lives, or it could be just a nice, decent place with a few monsters and some actual inhabitants!
I also have a Floating Islands world and what i have are dragons that can make water inside them and then release it for the humans, but another idea is that there could be magic rivers that flood down the edges in epic waterfalls.
Also, floating islands floating above hell? Just, don't explain. Let it be. There's already magic in the world, let the water just be another one of those things that just is
