It's for a short story, I'm also gonna post the main character in the characters chat so if you want critique her as well! Thanks!
Also I made a track that sounds like how I imagine the library to sound like! I'm gonna make some more for my other locations when they're ready! Tell me what ya'll think! :) The link is https://other-atmospheres.ambient-mixer.com/eridel-library
WOW!
The Library of Eridel sounds super cool and eccentric! It'd be a complete dream come true to have a library the size of Paris.
I was given this impression while reading over your description of the wonderful place:
It sounds kind of spooky, and I imagined that some of the books would be shiny and new, while others would have yellowed, tattered pages and dusty covers with worn out titles. I imagine a distant humming type thing, just making the whole place eerie but impossible to leave, especially for those who are hungry for knowledge. Like every turn you take, you find a new universe to explore, and you just can't make yourself leave because there is so much to see, so much to learn. I imagine people getting lost in the hallways but not even caring, not wanting to leave, because there are just so many possibilities and amazing things to discover. Maybe even staying there for years, losing track of time, just reading and cramming their brains… losing sanity, possibly?
That's the feel I got from it. Maybe that's not what you were going for, but I'm telling you, it sounds really good!
Sorry for the super late reply! Yes, that's how I wanted people to receive the library! It's my favorite location I've created and I'm making it the setting of a short story I hope to write soon! Thank you for the feedback :)
Happy anniversary of you posting this originally! (AKA I'm sorry this is so late). The library sounds sooooo awesome and I believe I'd be caught in its trap! One thing is, is it really possible to have a library almost the size of Paris? I don't know what genre this is so maybe it doesn't need to matter but if you're doing something set in the future on Earth, or something like that, I would consider making the size a bit more sensible. However, this is an amazing idea and I hope to read your short story!
Im really looking forward to reading this short story now…………..
I love how you compared the library to a city that we can all relate to, though i find it quite hard to imagine a 'stain glass' as you put it cause it ruins the entire ancient vibe that you otherwise nailed.
Just to clarify, i amnt against the idea of the glass, i just think that it needs a little focus on its old-ness to help the readers through the first read of its description.
