Marigold chewed, then swallowed. After a few minutes, she spoke again. “I’d thank you, except you kidnapped me so it’s kind of hard to feel grateful right now.”

"I'm sure it is. Just be patient, which I know is hard for you fancy folk, and just be quiet." She leaned back with another book, yawning and wondering when they'd come.

“Believe it or not, I’ve had to wait for things before,” Marigold snapped before shutting up again, though she was kind of an impatient girl.

"I doubt it," Jackie responded with a snicker, leaning back. "You don't exactly seem like the world's most patient person, you know."

“Is it because I’m a princess? Because life isn’t all rainbows and sunshine for princesses, as you might think,” she fired back. Marigold was tired of people thinking life was easy for her just because she was a princess, because it was not. Though she would admit others had it much harder than she did. At least she had a warm meal three times a day and a family, even if they didn’t always seem to notice her.

"Ugh." Jackie sighed into her book and rolled her eyes. Honestly, royal families and their children were such a pain in her rear. Why did she even agree to taking Marigold under her wing as the others traveled over here? She could have easily dumped her on someone else, but nooo the extra pay was too much for her.

Marigold sat in silence for a moment, trying to think of another way to escape. She kicked at the cage to see what it do (she assumed not much).
