The villain did it. After all those years, they had finally taken the hero down. But the hero lived. And now they're in the villain's clutches. They were never clever enough apparently, but now they have to keep up the face in order to stay alive. For what could they be worth to the villain if not as a toy, and to be entertaining? Could there be any other purpose for them now?

Basically, I have a paragon hero character with self worth issues and a too-big heart. Your villain character can be anything, from regretful to vengeful, but this will most likely end in romance. Smut if it happens goes to DMs but if you want to avoid smut that's cool too. Have fun, I'll post a template when someone joins.

(Sure! Let's talk setting, plot, and characters then! What do you want for the character dynamic?)

(Awesome! Really I am up for anything just as long as it makes sense. Really as long as the pacing is a slow burn with some twists and turns, I'm cool with whatever.)

(Uh, okay! Cool! I'd like to establish a dynamic beforehand though, and no offense but being indecisive does not help my ADHD.)

(Uh,,, either a really sadistic villain or a really secretly regretful eccentric villain is cool. I already established my character. Basically, my character is either a punching bag physically or emotionally.)

(Modern day, but kinda post villain induced apocalypse, in a superhero setting.)

Name: Claude Yoon
Age: 32
Gender/Pronouns: Cis male (He/Him/His)
Orientation: Omnisexual
Appearance: Claude is six foot two and has a muscular build. His hair is jet black, long and pushed back. Most of the time it is neat, but it's fluffy and tends to get messy. He has medium brown eyes. There are scars (some noticeable and some not) on the sides of his arms, on his thighs, near his right eye, and on his back. His features are sculptured but also appear to be fine-boned. The shade of his skin is warm ivory, but it is a bit pale.
Personality: Before Claude was, and always has been, Master Õudne before he could be anything else. While he tends to be reserved and brooding most of the time, he is charismatic and uses it as a weapon or tool. Blunt and always to the point, though he enjoys flirting, joking around, and having fun. (Really when it's serves a purpose for him.) He is wounded by his past, but determined to move past it in any way possible. Any regrets, misery, or anything is buried way deep beneath him with no real chance of ever surfacing; it may not even be there in the first place. He is intelligent; quite the quick learner actually.
Powers: All of his abilities are tied to death in one way or another. He can manipulate souls, create illusions, and teleport/disappear into the shadows. He can see and interact with souls but he only does when necessary. Claude also uses knives, ropes, and a scythe.
Alias: Master Õudne (also known as the Macabre)
Backstory: Claude has had his powers since he was born, but only discovered them when he was an adult. It is unknown as to why he has them except for he just has them. Despite having powers, he actually lived a normal life. He was an ice skater and danced as a child, became a trauma surgeon, got married, and had three children. While he loved to surround himself with others, nobody knew about his powers or anything, or at least, that is what he believed. One day he gotten into a car accident and mysteriously disappeared.

A secret government organization had taken him in and completely erased his memory so they wouldn't have any problems on testing him and his powers. In fact, Claude Yoon is not his real name; he only started calling himself "Claude" months after escaping. Throughout the experiments and tests, he began to learn about how powerful and deadly he is. He grew bitter and cold knowing that he had a life before waking up in the lab. Scars from tests had begun to show on his skin. Scientists injected him with all kinds of serums that slowed down his aging; he had enough of it, so he decided to escape.

His escape had caught the outside world's attention. Almost no one, except for him, had survived. The entire lab was destroyed and left in rubble. It was enough for him that the lab was gone, there was more to be done. He went on to attack the secret organization's other buildings and officials tied to it. With the state of most victims' bodies and the manner of his attacks, newspapers began to call him "the Master of Macabre". The word "Õudne" is just another translation of macabre, so that's what he began to call himself: Master Õudne.
Other: Claude owns a club called "Vahel" under a pseudonym where a good portion of clientele are of the criminal underworld. He enjoys books, ice skating, classical art and music, and anything involving with chaos. Also he has a black cat named Macbeth.

Name: Bruno Sanchez
Age: 36
Gender/Pronouns: Trans man, he/him
Orientation: Gay
Appearance: https://picrew.me/share?cd=QzNgRlz51M he is 5’1”. So. Uh. Yeah. Okay yes I am too lazy to write a description so thus picrew, I’ll write something better later.
Personality: I’ll also get back to this but for now just know he’s a total soft boy who would do anything to protect his family.
Powers: Can use music to manipulate people and his environment.
Alias: El Musico, the Musician.
Backstory: Bruno was similarly born with his powers, but from the start his life was different. He grew up poor, but with a large family that really loved him. He was the first of a family of immigrants to go to college, and he majored in music. He had discovered his powers long ago, and used his education to hone them. After a breakup with a boyfriend that ended in him getting pregnant, he started hero work to provide for his family. Eventually the government hired him, shortly after he gave birth to a daughter whom he named Gabriela. He also started T after that. He and his family live together very happily in the city in a large penthouse the government is providing him with, but ever since Õudne took over and defeated him his family, including his now twelve year old daughter, have had to go into hiding.
Other: He’d struggling. Literally, mans has a bit too much trauma to be healthy just from how he grew up. Doesn’t like police and tries to work with them as little as possible. Can play just about any instrument but mainly plays classical guitar.

Guess who just watched the book of life and is crying now? Lol. So of course I had to make a character similar to the protagonist, at least in ability.

Bruno was finished. Sitting in a makeshift cell with a gag in his mouth to keep him from using his voice and his hands bound, he assumed he was about to die. Normally he wasn’t such a pessimistic bastard, but with his guitar smashed before his feet, also fettered in chains, he had given up most all hope. It was his abuelito’s guitar too, one he treasured and only brought with him on missions he thought he was sure to lose, a guitar that brought him hope when he saw none ahead. He usually won with it by his side, but apparently not today. He might never win again, if he didn’t get out of here quickly. But how? He had no powers, no plans, nobody to help. All the other heroes were dead or had fled like logical people. It was just Bruno now, having made the final stand and having lost.

He did it. After heavens know how long, Claude had finally done it. He had defeated El Musico. Everything had happened so quickly that he could not even believe what he had done. Adrenaline, as always, had rushed through his veins but it felt as if there was more soaring through him as he destroyed the guitar. His heart pulsing as fast as it ever had. How unbelievable. At first he could not believe it, he was not sure of himself at all. Now looking down at the what was the guitar, he knew what he had done. And by gods, how satisfying it is to know that he had taken down another hero, how he had taken down El Musico.

Standing behind the helpless hero, he patted down his white silk traditional robes. A grin, the biggest one he has ever worn, swept across his face. Strands of black hair fell in front of his eyes as he looked over at the fool. Disappearing into the shadows, he reappeared in front of him. The smile had faded away, though his eyes were lit up. Kneeling down, he pulled El Musico by the collar, pulling the hero closer to him. For a whole minutes straight, he just laughed in the hero's face. With his chest puff out, he titled his head back and just roared till he needing to take a deep breath.

"You know, throughout history, the most powerful kings who had built their empires and kingdoms fell to death. The mightiest of heroes eventually succumb to it too. No one can escape death's grasp. No one can escape from my grasp," He seethed. Again he broke into laughter then cupped the hero's cheek. His face grew cold. "But I cannot. Even with all that I have, I would be bored. Keep your enemies close as they say. And do you know what's better than death? Dragging it out, humiliating the bastard every single second. Making his life miserable to the point where he cannot take it no more. Turning the hero into a clown! A complete fool!"

Claude stopped. Letting go of the hero, he stood up. He pushed back some of the hair strands and sighed. "Ah, I am sure you would like that. Living in any condition is better than death, is it not? You should be grateful that I am giving a complete idiot such as yourself a chance."

With complete and utter nonchalance, Bruno closed his eyes. He let himself be thrown around like a ragdoll, if he wasn’t dying then he could simply wait until the villain that was Master Õudne have his fun, then wait until the right moment to disappear on him. He had to live, had to escape and find his family. He didn’t reply, even, no attempts at speaking even though normally he’d make a remark about how much Õudne liked to hear himself talk. The chains rattled as he was thrown around, bruises aching as the villain gripped his face. He tried to hum, but found his throat was too sore from screaming in pain as Õudne tortured him, before he finally threw him in this cell to rot. Fine, he did want to escape sooner, but he was in no shape to and didn’t want to risk any more wrath falling upon him.
