(yeah, it is a bit better)
Adella pulled her sleeve up. It was a bit further than it had been this morning, now up to her elbow. She quickly pulled it back down, not wanting anyone to walk in and see it. She sat on her throne, regaining her normal posture. "HARLOW!"
Harlow jumped as Alia yelled his name. He quickly straightened himself out beforeally walking into the throne room.
"You called, mistress?" He asked, hoping he didn't do anything wrong.
Adella's eyes narrowed as Harlow came in. "You took too short of a time to get here." She stood up. "Were you spying on me, Harlow? Don't lie to me."
"I wouldn't use the word spying, mistress. I heard you pacing from the hallway and I was about to check on you when you called for me." Harlow explained. "Do you need me to do something for me, mistress?"
"Yes. I need you to get someone to go find Wizard Deniw. He's miles away, but I need to talk to him about something. It's urgent. Find someone and send them. If they refuse, bring them to me. Hurry."
"Yes, mistress." Harlow said a nod. "Do you need anything else of me before that?" He asked.
"No." Adella waved him away. "Just hurry. Come back swiftly. Don't dally, Harlow. And close the door behind you. I don't need any Peeping Toms."
"Yes, mistress." Harlow said with a bow before leaving, making sure you pull the door shut behind him.
He hurried down to the stables. "Saddle your best horse," He told the stable boy. "And find the best messenger. The Queens needs someone to retrieve Wizard Deniw as quickly as possible."
Adella waved her hand, and the door locked with a wave of magic. She looked over at the flowers brought into her throne room by peasants begging for mercy. She scoffed, waving a hand. Magic flowed from her hand - black in colour - and killed the flowers.
A messengar was brought into the barn by another stable boy. "You are to fetch the Wizard Deniw as quick as possible." Harlow explained as the messenger got onto the horse. "If he refuses to come, use any means to bring him here. Just make sure he is can speak and do magic."
The messenger nodded before riding off.
Adella sighed angrily, stomping her foot. Harlow was taking too long. "HARLOW!" She yelled once more, magic making her voice carry. "HARLOW!"
Harlow sprint back up to the castle as fast as her could, not slowing down or stopping for anyone. He only stopped when he reached the, locked, throne room doors. He knocked.
Adella unlocked the doors, locking it again once Harlow was inside. "You took too long," She spat, eyes narrow. "What do you take me for?"
Harlow walked in, not taking too much notice of the doors locking. The queen did like her privacy.
"I'm not quite sure what you mean, mistress." He said, his voice calm. "I did exactly what you asked as quick as I could."
"Well not quick enough," Adella spat again. "You need to work on being quicker, Harlow. I will not accept it. Get better or I will replace you."
Harlow nodded, not taking his eyes off her for a second. "Yes, mistress." He said, holding his arms being his back.
"Now…who did you send?" Adella asked. "Please tell me that it was someone adequate. One of our best knights. Deniw is powerful, if he refuses to come, a simple messenger won't suffice."
"I sent our best messenger." Harlow said, the hairs on the back of his neck standing up. He knew he had messed up, and knew he was going to get it, bad. With mistress already in a bad mood…he knew he was in trouble.
"Though speed would be better at the moment."
"I didn't ask for speed, Harlow." She sighed, sitting on her throne. "If this messenger fails to bring back Deniw, consider yourself dead. Your head will be put on a platter."
Harlow nodded. "Yes, mistress." He said, his voice slightly quieter than usual. "Is there anything else you require me for?"
"Ah, yes. Go find fresh flowers to replace these ones. And hurry. Don't take too long."
"Yes, mistress ." Harlow said, before collecting the case with the dead plants and hurrying out of the room. He threw out the dead flowers and went out to the garden to pick more flowers.
He quickly picked the flowers, placed them into the case and hurried back into the throne room. He placed the new flowers where the old ones were.
While Harlow was gone, Adella threw up a screen of magic. Behind it, she began to pace again. She was worried. If Deniw didn't come, she didn't know what she would do. At this rater, she could be dead by next week.
Harlow let out a sigh once he set the flowers down. It felt like the first breath he had since the queen first called him in.
"If one messenger isn't going to be able to get Wizard Deniw, then I guess I'll have to help him." Harlow muttered as he left the room. Hopefully he could catch up with the messenger in a bird form.
This was going to be a long night.
(sorry for the late reply, i was really distracted yesterday)
Adella let out a scream as well as a wave of magic. The scream echoed through the castle, leaving an eerie quiet once it left. Anyone who paid close attention to the scream could tell it was filled with pain and fear.
