Cicada curled into him further completely oblivious to the slight change in mood to wrapped up in her own little bubble of comfortable warmth. She let her eyes shut as she muttered out, "Okay, then I'm gonna sleep. G'Night."

(My thought process includes major destruction, so we may want to hold off for a bit, now that I think about it. But it's still up there, for later on… aha)
"Good night, Cicada." Phoenix smiled softly, running his fingers through her hair. He kept a soft smile up as she nodded off, eventually going to sleep after her. His soft humming carrying on until he was dead asleep.
(That probably is a good idea. Major destruction… Fluffy scene… Not a good mix really. Anyways we should probably skip.)
(Probably, but I'll leave it up to you, when we want to skip to :)
(Mwahahah give me a bit to think of something up but it'll be good :)
(Take all the time you need! Clearly I've been busy, so don't stress about it aha.)
(Sorry for taking so long!)
Cicada had had a stressful week, to add to the constant worry that she was going to bump into her ex, she had what felt like a thousand major projects due and thus had almost no time to wind down or see Phoenix. The constant stress was not helping her keep control of her fire and today alone she had felt it bubble up to the surface numerous times. It especially didn't help that a bunch of guys had decided now was the time to start attempting to get with her. She supposed this had something to do with the local greek life considering they were all in the frat, or at least she thought so and they had all decided she was the perfect target for whatever their stupid frat goals were(curse her brilliant idea of playing the dumb nice girl). She was currently on her way to the cafeteria, something she hadn't done in what felt like forever, when she was stopped yet again by a frat boy, just, just fuck her life.
(Hey, you're totally okay! I clearly had to take a break from Notebook for a while with all of the school stuff- and other things, so I can't hold it against you aha. If you're not interested in continuing this, I totally get it! But for now I'm at least gonna respond.)
Phoenix had been sitting by himself in the cafeteria— as he had been all week long— rather glumly picking at his food. He wasn't hungry, and was overall just lonely. Cicada had been gone for what felt like forever, and she hadn't exactly been responding to his texts either. He understood things were stressful, so his moodiness needed to seriously vanish. But she wasn't here— as she hadn't been all week— so he allowed himself to sulk in peace. Or as much peace you could get in a noisy cafeteria.
(Hey welcome back! For future reference, I'm always willing to continue no matter the time difference lol)
"I'm sorry, but I'm really, really not interested," Cicada said backing away from the frat boy trying not to create a scene. She held her bag close to herself in a tight clench because she didn't want to flame this guy. But this guy wouldn't take the hint.
"Oh come on beauty," the frat boy persuade following after her, "You, me, together? We'll be a power couple together."
"I'm sorry, but no," Cicada repeated herself. She was glancing around trying to find Phoenix, or someone she knew. This guy was being a lot more persistent than the normal frat guy.
(Alrighty- thank you aha)
Phoenix was doing his best to ignore the obnoxiously loud frat boy, but couldn't when the second voice came in. It took a moment to recognize it, as he was trying to tune it out, but when he did, it was almost impossible to ignore it. She was here?
Ditching his food, he quickly stood and power-walked across the room to where he heard the loud jerk at. And when he saw her, his face lit up. Continuing to walk with a purpose, he came up behind her, and gently set a hand on her shoulder.
"Can we help you?" He asked, before stepping in front of Cicada.
With the entrance of Phoenix, the frat boy finally back off, "Nah man. All good here," and he walked away.
Cicada let out a long sigh as the boy left and turned to Phoenix with a grateful smile on her face, "Thanks for coming prince charming. They've been after me all week."
She stopped for a second as she thought. She was here getting food and since Phoenix was here it wouldn't be that off to assume he was doing the same, "Hey, um, I've been really busy and I'm sorry about that. Want to eat together?"
Phoenix glared at the frat boy until he had made his way out of the cafeteria. Her endearing term finally caught his attention, and he shifted his gaze down to her.
'Well if you'd been with me…' His thoughts started, but he pushed them aside, and gave her a familiar grin. "No problem, glad I could be of service." He joked, giving her a mock bow and a wink before standing to his full height once again.
At her offer, he smiled even wider, reaching down to take her hand. "I would love that- it's been pretty lonely without you. But you don't need to apologize for that."
"I really should though, I kind of just disappeared without a trace," Cicada took his hand with a soft smile on. She was in public right now and she could almost feel the eyes on her after that whole confrontation. On one hand, Cicada had really been hoping to keep her love life private, and on the other, the frats would finally be off her back. She looked up at Phoenix, "So, um, did you get food already? Or do you need to get some?"
Phoenix smiled softly, leading her towards the table he had already been sitting at. "I've already gotten lunch, and a table. Feel free to join me…" When you have the time.
The last sentence he kept to himself, trying not to be bitter about her distance. She's apologized, he needed to let it go. So with a smile, he sat down, leaving her space to sit down when she was ready. "I take it you need to get food still?"
"Yeah," Cicada replied as she noted where his table was. She glanced over at the food line and then back to Phoenix with a lot looser of a smile than earlier, "I'll be back in a flash."
And with that Cicada half-walk half-jogged over to get food. She needed to be quick so that she could get back to Phoenix and start making up for all the time she spent away from him the past week. It wasn't her fault, and she knew that, but it didn't stop her from feeling bad about it. Besides, being with Phoenix always seemed to calm her down. She piled her plate up with food before making her way back to Phoenix sitting down next to him, "Hey."
"Hey yourself," Phoenix smiled, sipping from a water bottle before patting the spot next to him. "Feel free to sit anywhere." He joked, pulling his knee up near his chest. Running a hand through his curly hair, he set his chin on his knee. The youngness in his face was prominent with his grin- it was almost childish.
"So- you up to explaining why I haven't got to see you? Or is that a conversation for another time?"
"Um, yeah of course!" Cicada replied quickly moving closer next to Phoenix. She had a smaller smile on from being able to see Phoenix again, "It felt like almost all of my classes decided to give us projects due by the end of the week and I spent almost all of my time not in class working on them. That, and, um, I've been paranoid about… You know." Her smile fell as her sentence trailed off as she tensed up and her eyes instinctively swept around the cafeteria. Her fire began to bubble up to the surface of her skin and she took a deep breath to will it away. She forced herself to relax, "That's about it for me. Anyways, how's your week been?"
Phoenix listened intently, noticing how she tensed at the mention of… that guy. He had been refusing to call him by his name, as he didn't deserve such a privilege after making Cicada feel so unsafe. Also partially because he didn't like thinking about his girlfriend's ex.
"Well- we're here now at least," He smiled, taking a moment to finish his plate. "My week has been… pretty boring. Same thing every day- classes, food, more classes, homework, sleep, and then repeat." Shrugging, he finished up his water before pushing his tray away.
"Boring isn't always bad you know," Cicada pointed her fork at Phoenix as she talked in between bites. She had relaxed a lot more after hearing Phoenix talk and finding out that he hadn't done anything to Phoenix. After a moment of thought, and some mental calculations about how much of her projects she had left to do, she decided to really make it up to Phe, "Hey, are you free this weekend? We can hang out, maybe go on a date, you know. Spend some more time with each other?"
Phoenix's eyes lit up a bit, a small smile poking through. "I am! I'm not Friday night, but other than that, I think I'm free." He hummed, mentally checking his calendar. He was trying not to seem too excited, but he couldn't help but feel happy that she wanted to spend time with him.
"We could meet on Saturday and then spend both Saturday and Sunday together," Cicada suggested her face lighting up when Phoenix said he was free. She was really glad he was free because she had honestly missed him the past week and was now really happy to spend time with him. Though she began to realize she might be getting ahead of herself, "If that's fine with you of course."
(I'm sorry my replies are weaker rn- I'm for whatever reason struggling on this particular rp recently. I've got a couple ideas to try and give us a little more to do if you're up for it- but if you're happy where we're at that's totally fine too :))
"I may need to cut Sunday short, because of finishing a paper, but otherwise I'd be happy to do that." Phoenix chirped, just watching her while she ate. He couldn't help but smile a little brighter, happy just to be sitting there with her once again, and just enjoying seeing her pretty face.
He did his best to ignore the blaring ten above her head, just focusing on her face. He had been trying to ignore the danger meter on everyone as of lately- knowing just because someone was dangerous didn't mean they were a bad person. It had been a prejudice he had been harbouring since he realized what the numbers meant- and he was doing his best to drop it. But just like it was back then, his body and mind liked to scare him away. For whatever reason, he was managing to ignore it, and just listen to what his heart wanted instead.
(I am all down for ideas. (I've been running out of ideas in general lol) So please, spill.)
(I'm kinda thinking fugitive style- maybe she gets caught up in something too big, that she couldn't just move towns. Maybe when she tries to leave, Phoenix won't let her do it alone, and sneaks along with her?)
(Yooo that sounds like a good idea. And I. Definitely know of something she can get caught up in.)
