Emily watched in shock, and she took on a physical form to grip Avrey's shoulders tightly and ground him. "No, you're not. Just…" She looked around and pulled him into an empty classroom. "I need you to breathe," she instructed, forcing herself to not be shy like she normally was.
Avrey took deep breaths, staring into her eyes while he slowly began to relax once more. He complied, closing his eyes while he took deep, prolonged breaths, his silent sobs beginning to slow.
"Wh-who… who are you?" He rasped, looking back at her with fearful eyes. "My sister is dead. Why did I just see her?? What is going on!?"
"My name is Emily," she began. "I only want to help you. Your sister is a ghost. I am too. Please, relax. I'm in a physical form now, but I don't know why you can see me when I'm in astral form, like your sister was…"
Avrey backed against a wall, covering his face while still staring at Emily. "O-oh…. god…" He mumbled, the information unable to settle while his panic increased. "Wh-what do you want!"
Emily blinked quickly. "I-I'm not going to hurt you! I promise. I've taken a liking to you, actually. You're shy, like me, so I've been… following you?" She smiled awkwardly. "I know it sounds weird, but I promise I don't follow you everywhere, like I give you privacy and shit…" Emily winced. "Damn, that didn't sound creepy at all. Um, hold on… I promise I'm not creepy."
Avrey folded his arms, blushing profusely while he looked down, a small smile on his lips.
"I… I-it's okay. I've… kind of known you were there…"
He sighed, then ran a hand through his red hair looking back up. "This is… r-really odd. B-but I feel like I kind of need a better introduction."
He held out a hand, smiling gently. "I'm A-Avrey."
Emily blinked quickly, noting his smile and her own cheeks turned a bit pale as she adopted a ghostly blush. "You've known? How is that possible? Um, yeah, like I said, I'm Emily. I'm sorry I never introduced myself before, I'm a bit antisocial… which is why I kind of like being a ghost. Uh… I'm going to stop talking now, sorry…" Her cheeks flushed even more pale.
