"Actually, I've got a bucket list of languages to learn, and Japanese was one I had started on a few months before moving." Tango said, motioning to the convenience store. "Maybe we could help each other out with it. Now, I've got it on good authority that this place is worth stopping by."

@Purple_Sunglow

“If you’re interested, so am I.” He smiled, heading towards the store with her, “Any intel on what it sells?” He checked to make sure his phone and money were still in his pocket, which they were, “Also would love some help with Japanese. I like that idea.”

@croccin-champagne

"Snacks, drinks, the normal things any convenience store would sell, but Japanese." She said, glancing to Hinata, who nodded amidst the funny faces he was making at Cassidy. "Maybe we'll set up some sort of study session or something." She pushed open the door, holding it open for Cassidy.

@Purple_Sunglow

“Sounds good.” He stepped inside, thanking her for holding the door. He looked around at all the different food, “Oh wow..I want to try everything.” He joked and took a bag of something like chips off of the shelf, “What are these?” He handed Tango the bag, “I don’t recognize what it says.”

@croccin-champagne

"Cheddar cheese baked wheat snack." She read out loud, turning the bag over in her hands. "Chips, I'm guessing." She handed the bag back to him, eyes scanning the shelves. "I'm looking for Konpeitō, if I can find it."

@Purple_Sunglow

“Aha.” Cassidy set the bag back down in its place, “I’ll keep an eye out for you..” He meandered down one of the aisles, taking glances side to side in search of what she wanted or anything else that looked interesting to him. He stopped in front of the refrigerators to browse the drinks.

Tango slowly made her way through the aisles, occasionally grabbing something off of the shelves and adding it to the pile in the basket she had grabbed at some point. This would count as a good part of her grocery shopping for the next few days. A box of some sugary candy was pushed off of the shelf and into her basket, and she looked up to find Hinata already drifting off, waving for her to follow him.

@Purple_Sunglow

Cassidy tucked the drink into his elbow to hold it there while he browsed for other snacks, actual food this time, “It’s funny.” He spoke to Tango when he passed her, “ when you actually have money to buy things instead of worrying about stealing them.” He chuckled, “that wasn’t fun.”

@croccin-champagne

"I can't imagine it would be." Tango said, raising an eyebrow slightly at Cassidy as she followed after Hinata. He'd gone about an aisle over, to the deli-like section, and was tapping the glass over the Kara-age with a grin.

@Purple_Sunglow

“Not at all..” he murmured absentmindedly while he searched through the chips, “I think I found the chips you were looking for.” He spoke a little louder now that they weren’t in the same aisle anymore.

@croccin-champagne

"They're little mushroom shaped snacks. The tops are chocolate." She said, making a face at Hinata as he bumped her, making her stumble slightly. She quickly payed for the Kara-age, before slipping off to find Cassidy. "A…friend told me to keep an eye out for them."

@Purple_Sunglow

“Hm..maybe this isn’t it then. But if we find some, I’d like to try them. They sound delicious.” He pulled another interesting snack off the shelf he wanted to try. He glanced up at her, “You seem a little distracted, is everything okay?”

@croccin-champagne

"They might be somewhere over there." Hinata was already slipping off once more, with a mischievous grin sent her way. "Hm? Oh, yeah, no, I'm fine. Just thinking. Here, stick that in my basket."

@Purple_Sunglow

He tossed the snack into her basket, “Thanks..” he pulled the collar of his sweatshirt up to cover his neck a bit more, “I like to think too…what’s your favorite thing to think about?”

@croccin-champagne

"People." She said, tapping his shoulder to let him know to follow her, so they could keep talking, before starting down the aisle and scanning the shelves. "What makes them tick, the people I know and don't know. Their stories, too."

@Purple_Sunglow

Cassidy nodded, following her lead, “People can be really interesting like that..that’s why I want to study psychology. Are you interested in psychology?” He found something else and put it in the basket.

@Purple_Sunglow

Cassidy shrugged again, “Not really, I guess. It just really interests me..” he grinned at the thought, “Probably a clinical psychologist, I like talking to and helping people.”

@croccin-champagne

"An optimist, I'm guessing." There was a crash from somewhere near the front, followed by cursing, but Tango didn't jump, or seem at all bothered. Just continued her perusing. "What all do you find interesting about it?"

@Purple_Sunglow

Cassidy looked over to the front, caught off guard, “Um…it’s the inner workings of individual people’s thoughts. What they do and why they do it. I don’t know why it’s interesting to me, it just is. Maybe that’s why I like to write too.”

@croccin-champagne

Hinata's laughter carried over the shelves to Tango's ears, and her lips twitched, almost like fighting a smile. "The mind is an interesting place, for sure. What kind of things do you write about?"

@Purple_Sunglow

“People, mostly. I like sitting in the bus with my notebook and writing down random conversations I hear. It’s great for making characters.” He pondered a thought for a minute, “Like how I made character based off of you named Gabrielle who talked to ghosts…crazy right?” He chuckled, “It’s dumb but very fun. A fun thought.”

@croccin-champagne

She stilled, pausing half way to grabbing something off the shelves. The moment lasted exactly two seconds, before she was snorting, picking the item up. "Too bad ghosts don't exist, huh?" She sounded so convincingly casual about it, that her hesitation almost seemed like some fluke.

@Purple_Sunglow

“Yeah…sometimes I think they do. Like a glimpse of something in your peripheral vision, a lost item being found in the middle of your living room. It’s either ghosts or angels and they just won’t tell me!” He laughed, “Rude.”

@croccin-champagne

"You don't think it's your eyes playing tricks on you?" She asked, turning to look over at him as she set the item back on the shelf. People were less likely to guess at her…abilities, if she played the part of the skeptic. "Or you just forgetting where you left something?"
