"Okay. I won't tell you that I picked up a dude and chucked him out a window." She said casually as she stretched her arms above her, like as if they were just talking about the weather. She then patted her pockets to make sure she still has everything, and popped a stick of bubblegum in her mouth. "But if I did…IF. What are ya gonna do about it,good two shoes?"
Itzal groaned and turned away from Evelyn. It wasn't like the dude didn't deserve it, but that didn't mean Itzal had to like it. He let out a breath and turned back towards her. "You did throw someone out the window. Why do you always do that?" Itzal shook his head. "It's not like I can do anything about it. But I will ask you to please stop throwing people out of windows. Knock them out or something. And don't call me that."
She popped her gum. "Well walking tree, I do it because it's fun, and it scares the shit outta them. Besides I shoved him up against the open window and he decided to get cock. He literally said, 'what are you gonna do, drop me?' and so I did. Ya can't blame me, I'm a woman of my word. So no. I'm not gonna stop chucking dudes out windows because there is absofuckinglutely nothin' ya can do about it."
Itzal stared at her. "Walking tree?" He shook his head and held up his hands. "Fine, nevermind." Itzal bit the inside of his cheek, still staring at Evelyn. She was right about him not being able to do anything about it, and it made him mad. And besides, the guy seemed to have asked for it. It was a useless fight, anyways. "We should go before even more of them show up." Itzal glanced around, then started walking towards the stairs.
"I can take em! This place has more windows~" She said in sing song voice. "On second thought if I do it to much it'll get boring. Off we go!" And she got onto the stairs railing and slid all the way down, and waited for Itzal at the bottom.
Itzal just sighed again and shook his head. Evelyn really was something else. He watched as she slid down the railings of the stairs, then started down them at a leisurely pace. There wasn't a point to rushing right now, unless some more people appeared. Then, he would sprint. Itzal skipped down the last few steps and looked at Evelyn. "I don't understand how you can slide all the way down and not fall off or something."
"Let's just say we grew up differently." She said with a nod and walked off. "What now, giraffe?" She questioned, kicking a rock.
"I guess." He sighed and started after Evelyn. "Well, I suppose we should go back to the office and check in." Itzal shrugged. "Tell them all about our success, minus the one guy who went out a window. They wouldn't want to hear about that."
"They knew the cards they were dealing when they offered me to join so I don't end up in the slammer. Most of em could care less as long as the work gets done." She shrugged and got into the undercover cop car the two shared, driver side. All of her driving abilities when on the job had been evoked, as a precaution.
"Yes, but still." Itzal sighed heavily and got into the car as well. "I don't really want to tell them that I let you throw someone out the window." He looked over at her. Having her as a partner wasn't really his favorite thing in the world, but it certainly made life interesting. And quite a bit annoying, sometimes.
"Then don't. You do you boo." She said, turning on the radio and flipping stations around until she found the old rock and roll station. She then began to check her phone. "Aw shit totally forgot I had a show tonight…well crap." She then looked at him. "Hey goodie, faster you drive the faster we get to the station and the faster we can get back to our lives."
Itzal glanced over at her, the looked back at the road. "What kind of show?" He asked. He didn't know that much about her, and maybe getting to know her a bit better would make the whole partnership thing easier. "And I'm not driving any faster." Even though he did want to get back to his life, he wasn't going to driving too far above the speed limit. That would be dangerous and against the law, and he wasn't for that.
"I am the lead singer of a band. We got a few bars to hit tonight. You won't be seeing me tomorrow. And if I do walk into the force tomorrow you nit pick one little damn thing about the way I enforce the wall and u will punch you in the dick. Because I am gonna have a hang over. I may be tipsy. And will have no room, rhyme or reason to deal with your good two shoes way. But. For now. Your baby maker is safe."
"Okay." Itzal nodded, expecting her to stop talking. But she kept going, first saying she wasn't going into work, which made him happy, mostly. But then she said she might and started threatening him. Itzal looked over at her with a tired look on his face. "Okay, got it. I won't bother you tomorrow." He shook his head slightly, even as a small smile made it's way onto his lips. Her threats were just a little funny.
"Don't think I won't. I grew up with 15 other siblings, and one of them is now a WWE Woman's Wrestling Champ. I've learned a few things." She sighed, and leaned back into the seat, and finally as the adrenaline faded away and she stared out the window she began to quiet down and relax a bit.
"Oh, I'm not doubting it," Itzal said quickly, putting up one of his hands. "I can defiantly see you doing that." He bit his lip and didn't say anything else. They were getting closer to the office, and Itzal was looking forward to going home and just relaxing. He was tried from everything that had happened today… and hungry, Itzal realized, his stomach rumbling slightly.
Evelyn blew another bubblegum bubble, and as soon as they were parked she got out of the car and headed inside to report what happened. "Oh and Chief. Stop pairing me with Goody Two Shoes the Walking Tree over here. He's getting on my nerves and won't stop nit picking the way I work." The chief sighed. "No Evelyn. Out of all the partners you've had he keeps you out of the most trouble. Especially after your last partner." Suddenly she went cold and stiff. "Don't you dare bring him up, he got exactly what he fucking deserved. And now Chief you've ruined my night." She turned around and headed off back home, more then ready to relax and enjoy the night.
Itzal followed Evelyn inside to report, then got to sit through her telling the chief all the things she didn't like about him. Which didn't bother him that much, and he was almost hopeful that he might get a different partner, but the chief shut those hopes down in an instant. He watched as Evelyn left, then turned to the chief. Itzal opened his mouth to ask, but the chief simply held up a hand. Well, so much for that. Itzal closed his mouth and headed out of the office. Time to go home and relax. Ever since he'd gotten Evelyn as a partner, he'd needed a lot of relaxation after work.
Two days later as promised Evelyn walks in. On time. Evelyn arrived late a lot. Not only that but she just seemed very stress free. She still had her kick ass attitude but not as rebellious. There was a pep in her step and a natural smile on her face. The chief eyed her. "Glad to see one happy and excited ex-convict." She shrugged and sat down at her office, and texted away on her phone, waiting for whatever chaos would occur to her today.
Itzal had enjoyed Evelyn's day off quite a bit. It was a little boring, but boring could be good once in a while. And with the amount of craziness he experienced daily, a little boring was embraced warmly. He was feeling great as he sat in his office, sipping some tea. He'd arrived early as usual, and was organizing his desk at the moment, hoping nothing too dramatic would happen that day. But Evelyn was back, so there was probably going to be at least one interesting thing happening. Hopefully, it wouldn't happen until he'd finished organizing, he thought, glancing over at Evelyn.
(Evelyn is already there.)
(I updated it, does that work better?)
(that's better)
She sighed and put her feet on the desk, chair rolling back to accommodate for the length. She then looked at him, and offered a soft smile. Her phone buzzed, drawing in her attention right back to it. That was also weird.
