"Y-You should stay…I don't want your friend getting mad because I'm here" She "smiled" at him
(It's fine, school sucks so I understand.)
"No." He said firmly, "If you're leaving then so am I. I don't care what they think about you. I think you're a nice person."
She mumbles so she wasn't heard. "You'd be surprised."
"Did you say something, Tara?" Cory asked.
"H-Huh?…Oh..N-No…" she laughs nervously
"Okay, so what do you want to do?"
She didn't know what to do now. "I'll stay…But not for the whole time," she stated.
"Awesome. We'll leave whenever you want okay?" He gave her a quick hug, "Let's grab something to eat."
"Ok…" She smiled. "lead the way."
Cory led her outside to the food, and quite a few people stared and whispered. Cory looked ticked and gave some of them a look.
Tara growled quietly. 'No one will take him from me to deal with it.' she thought to herself
Cory looked at the array of food and got a veggie burger and some chips and dip. Kaylee came back up and handed him s fancy peach lemonade, "Here you are Cory," She said in a sing-songy voice and glared at Tara. "Um thanks." He replied
Tara rolled her eyes. "I'm gonna go get some food." she walked away slowly glaring right back at Kaylee.
"Okay," Cory smiled and took a sip of the drink, "This is good Kaylee, did you make it yourself?" He questioned kindly. "Yes," Kaylee swooned fluttering her eyelashes, "So, when are you going to swim? I'd love to show you my swimsuit." "Not sure." Cory responded, "He gestured towards Tara, "Whenever Tara wants to." Kaylee rolled her eyes, "You don't need her, you have me." Cory gave her a look, "She's my friend Kaylee." Kaylee scowled and stomped off.
Tara came back with some chip. "So what happened to Kaylee?"
"She asked why you were here when I had her and I said you were my friend." He shrugged and took a bite of his burger.
"Well, she seemed very upset about that…Listen I can tell she, or anyone here for that matter hates me." She started looking at him sadly. 'Why can't I just get rid of her.' she thought.
"But I've never understood why." Cory looked at her, "Why don't they like you, Tara?"
"Something in the past. I'd rather not talk about it."
"Alright, but just know you can tell me anything, lets go back inside and find a place to sit."
She nods sighing deeply.
They walked in and sat down.
Tara noticed a group of girls staring at her. "Jesus…Why…"
"Just ignore them, Tara. Remember we can leave when you want."
"Easy for you to say that…People look at you in a good way. Unlike me."
