"Alright."
Gus said while staring just behind the three.
"What do we do?"

"Alright."
Gus said while staring just behind the three.
"What do we do?"
“We infiltrate the factory, of course, but the real question is how,” Veruca responded, eyes lighting up. Funny how things like this could excite her. “But we do need a solid plan before we actually attempt anything. There are no maps of the factory, so if any of you know how we would find a floor plan, that would be a huge help. And I’m going to talk to one of Wonka’s ex-friends who supposedly knows a lot about him and his batshit craziness, if one of you would like to come along with me on that. We can go two and two. Two to whatever way there would be to find a floor plan and two to talk to Mr.Black.”
"I'm sure I could get my mother to help find a floor plan, but of course I won't tell her anything. She'll do anything, if she thinks it's a competition, so it won't be too hard to convince her to hunt around for a way to get ahold of the floor plan," Violet nodded in understanding.
Mike nodded along with the plan. "I can go with you to meet this old friend of Wonka." He volunteered with a raised hand. "Who is this ex-friend though?"
“I heard about him from some weird online forums, because you find almost anything if you look hard enough,” Veruca answered Mike, taking her phone back from the others. “He only goes by Mr.Black, very mysterious. And he, uh, doesn’t exactly know we’re coming to talk to him.”
Mike stared at Veruca for a moment before a smile broke out onto his face and he starred to laugh. "So are we going to break into his house, stalk him, or what?" He asked, the warm smile not leaving his face.
Veruca rolled her eyes. “We are not going to stalk him or break into his house. God. We’re just going to ring the doorbell, like nice, normal people, and then have a chat.” She paused for a moment, before adding, quickly, “And if that doesn’t work, then maybe we’ll do those other things.”
Mike shrugged as his smile faded into a neutral face, instead of a frown like before. "I'm fine with both plans." He said. "When will we meet this Mr. Black?"
“Today, if you’re up for it.” Veruca said the last part almost like a dare. “I’m ready whenever you are.” She crossed her legs and arms almost simultaneously.
Mike stood up and slung his bag over his shoulder. "Ready. Shall we go, Miss Veruca?" Mike said with a slight smirk.
Veruca blinked, slightly surprised that he was ready so quickly. She nodded, smirking back at him. “All right, let’s go then,” she agreed. She slid out of her seat and turned to Violet and Augustus. “If you two need anything, you have my number.”
"Well."
Gus sits up and grabs his phone.
"I'm out of here. Would you care to join?"
He holds his hand out for Violet to grab if she so wished.
Violet shrugged, saying, "Sure, I guess."
She stood up on her own, ignoring the offered hand. "Where we goin'?"
Veruca waited for Mike to be ready, combing her fingers through her long hair. She quickly double checked that she had everything in her purse.
"Alright, let's go." Mike said as he headed out of the cafe. "Where exactly does this Mr. Black live? Do you really think he'll talk to us that easily?"
“It’s worth a shot,” Veruca said, walking down the street. “He actually doesn’t live too far from here, just a few blocks down. And I hope that diplomacy works because I’d rather not break into his house or anything unless we have to.”
Mike chuckled. "Why? Miss Veruca is afraid of getting her hands dirty? I didn't think that ever stopped you before." He said as he walked backwards so he could face Veruca as he talked.
Veruca scowled. "I'm good at getting what I want, and if that means getting my hands dirty, so be it." She looked Mike up and down. "And I see you're still acting like a know-it-all."
"Unlike money, Wonka can't take knowledge from me." He said before frowning. "At least, not yet." Mike turned back around after that.
Veruca blinked, for a moment looking every inch the spoiled child that she had been, before smoothing her features over into her usual look of annoyance. "Not if we have anything to say about it. Besides, as much as you three annoy me, I think that we could make a good team."
"Maybe." Mike said with a shrug. "So, if Mr. Black decides he doesn't want to talk, what's your plan? You can't excactly expect someone who personally knew Wonka to be willing to share everything with teenagers."
Veruca sighed. “Who knows? Maybe he’ll be nice. But my back up plan is to get into his house and see if we can find any information on his computer or in a file somewhere.”
"Ah. In that case, you should be glad I came along and not Agustus." Mike said, silently laughing.
Veruca rolled her eyes, but she was smiling a bit. “Mhmm,” she muttered. “It’s not too much further now.” She was nervous, her pulse beginning to speed up, but she would never admit that to him.
