"The hug? No it wasn't uncomfortable.. The speaking…yeah a bit.." She pulled her cardigan tight around her, her eyes flickering to the ground.
"The hug? No it wasn't uncomfortable.. The speaking…yeah a bit.." She pulled her cardigan tight around her, her eyes flickering to the ground.
"I'M so sorry…How can i make it up to you?" He said frantically.
"You don't need to. I only did what I thought was right. I didn't want to stand there, acting helpless, when those two were being horrible like that. You don't deserve that." She looked up at Alexander with a gentle smile.
"I'm used to it."
"You shouldn't be!" She took his arm again, her body still shaking. "Come on, it'll be dark before we know it and I wouldn't want you being alone in the dark."
He nods trying to get his hands back.
"Ah! Sorry.." She let go of him quickly, reverting back to her shy self, her voice becoming no louder than a mumble. "Why did he betray you like that?"
"He liked Tara…"
"I see.. What a pathetic excuse.." She didn't know what else to say. She truly felt bad for Alexander's situation, but she knew she couldn't do anything to help.
Alexander sighed. "Let's go get you h…You spoke…"
"I did..and i regret it." She chuckled sadly, forcing her tears to stay in her eyes. She hadn't planned on speaking in front of others for a very long time, at least only until she was comfortable enough to, but now the deed was done and she couldn't help but worry she had done something wrong.
"Your voice is pretty! Even if it's not completely feminine yet!" He smiled brightly
"Y-you really think so? I don't like my voice that much, because every so often it will crack and.. Well id rather not think about that." Her face lit up seeing Alexander's smile, and she responded with her own bright smile. A genuine smile.
"I do! I think it suits you!" he laughed slightly. "Unlike mine which is full on feminine"
"I like your voice, it's calming. A lot of people have harsh voices, but yours is soft and I like that." They neared the road to Leonie's house and her walking became slower. She wanted to enjoy what little time she had with Alexander.
"I guess you could say that." He laughed running a hand through his hair
"I have to force my voice not to be so masculine at times.. It doesn't sound right hearing myself talk." She giggled, shoving her hands into her cardigan pockets. "I wish we could swap, it would save all the hassle."
"It would." as they get to her house he stops. "U-Umm…I guess have a good day?"
"Do i have to go..?" She muttered, her smile faltering as she glanced at the door. She turned back to Alexander and hugged him tightly. "I'm sorry," she whispered, "Meeting you is the best thing to happen to me and it feels like as soon as i walk through the door im going to lose you.."
"Let me give you my number!" he said hugging back.
"O-okay.." She moved back a little, unlocking her phone before handing it to Alexander.
He puts his number down and smiled. "Message me later!"
"A-alright, thank you! Be safe getting home alright?" she dragged herself to the front door, waving goodbye to Alexander as she closed the door. She stood with her back on the door and a large breath of relief left her lips.
Alexander sighed. "I made a friend hopefully."
She smiled broadly, squealing while she ran into the kitchen "I have a friend~!" she repeated the same words over and over again while making herself a drink. The sound of the backdoor opening caught her off guard. Her father walked in, dirt clinging to his overalls and gardening boots.
"Oh, hey kiddo."
"Hi dad…" He didn't call me Liam..
Her father gave her a sympathetic smile. "I'll talk to your mum about why you missed your first lesson, don't worry."
"Th-thanks." He's being nice, what's happened?
Her father passed her on his way out of the kitchen, ruffling her hair gently.
"Hey! You've got mud in my hair!"
"We always said you needed to become closer with nature." he shrugged, smirking as he climbed the stairs. Mud footprints lined the floor.
Mum's gonna have a fit…
