“Don’t worry,” Aloysius murmured softly as he moved his hand down to caress Damon’s cheek with the backs of his fingers. “I’m sure you will have that opportunity at some point. But for now you’ll have to bear with listening to it’s disgustingly adolescent voice and seeing it’s stupidly youthful face. How old even is it anyway?”
Damon closed his eyes and leaned more into the touch, glaring at the child. "Must be around five, is that how old children are when they get annoying?" He mumbled, snarling a bit at Aster if he was looked at by the boy.
“I don’t remember being that young so I wouldn’t know, but I assume they’re annoying no matter what unless they’re either a man or a newborn baby. There’s no in between.” Aloysius shrugged, sighing softly as his vision blurred slightly. “It’s nearly been two hours, they’re pushing their luck.” He mumbled, his eyes drifting to the door as if he were waiting for someone to enter.
As if there were something watching them, which there probably was, three guards opened the large metal door. Two of them were holding weapons whilst the one in the middle was pushing a cart out. "Lunchtime, inmates!" The middle guard called out, knocking against the edge of the cart.
On the cart, there were a few plates and a Tupperware container, each plate held a specialized plate, whereas the Tupperware container just held some odd oatmeal-looking abomination.
Poe crossed his legs, pressing themself farther back in the chair. They didn't like the guards at all. They were loud and clunky, and generally disorienting. He shook out his hair, tucking his feet underneath himself. Poe was hoping they brought them curry today, but it seemed unlikely.
“They didn’t bring it, did they?” Aloysius grumbled as he watched the wardens, his eyes slowly narrowing on the trolley as he searched it. He rubbed his chin, seemingly deep in thought as he just continued staring. “Are they hiding it?”
Damon rolled off the armchair and made his way over to the trolley, rummaging around on the plates before he produced two. One was filled with pastries and tea party foods, whilst the other had actual food on it. The one with the pastries had two bundles delicately set off to the side. "Found them!" He giggled. "Silly cards put them with my sweets."
Aster, having no idea what was going on, just sat on the ground and watched everyone with idle curiosity. They played with their hair as they did so.
“Can you make sure at least one of those is what I hope it is before I start preparing to throw hands?” Aloysius hissed coolly, his eyes drifting from Damon, to the wardens, then back to Damon again.
