A group of siren superstars, an amateur wizard, and a normal human who is miraculously immune to siren song. This group of pestilent popstars is taking the world by storm, and maybe these two are the only ones who can fix it…

So yeah basically it's just sirens attempting to take over the world and a wizard who doesn't know what the fuck he's doing, plus your character, a human with the mysterious ability to resist siren song. It's gonna be chaotic.

Name: Josefine Azevedo
Age: 17
Gender/Pronouns: cis female, she/her
Orientation: straight lol
Appearance: 5’7 with an hourglass figure, deep brown skin. Bleached dreadlocks swept to one side, showing the shaved half of her head. Dark, twinkling eyes and thick, expressive eyebrows. Full lips with dimples and a wide nose, and a heart-shaped face. Wears an oversized white tee with the words Bom Dia in colorful, bubbly lettering and black jeans, or a cropped black top with rose red sweatpants and a grey army jacket
Personality: very energetic and extroverted, as well as argumentative. She wants to get to the ideas behind things, and usually does that through conversation- or debate. Has a dry, sarcastic sense of humor. She has a lot of self confidence, though sometimes it’s largely a fake it till you make it kind of thing. Despite how she may sometimes appear, she is pretty jaded and disillusioned. She loves learning, and was actually a bit of a nerd at one point. The thing is that she’s a hands on learner, and school hasn’t really provided that for her, so she’s known for her bad grades. Or at least, used to be. Has a bit of a chaotic impulse streak and will do things just for the heck of it.
Other: Moved from Brazil when she was around 6, 7 years old. Lived in the US with her two brothers and her mother for about a year and a half before being separated from them due to neglect and her brother’s drug abuse. Moved between foster homes twice before meeting her first American friend, Lyn, and Sef automatically adopted her. Her foster parents were okay, they were trying their best, but Sef never felt close with them. Speaks with a Portuguese accent

Name: Carl Carol
Age: 18
Gender/Pronouns: Cis man, he/him
Orientation: Bisexual
Appearance: Carl is tall (6’8”), blonde, and an absolute hunk, a himbo wizard if I ever saw one. His eyes are glassy purple, and his face is rectangular and angular. He has a solid, angular build, and is almost bodybuilder status with his body. Wears open robes that let you see his man titties pecs with stars stitched on them, a wizard hat with polka dots, and plain black cotton pants, goes around barefoot most often. Carries a large bag full of miscellaneous magical mayhems.
Personality: Himbo. Dumb of brain, thick of ass, stronk of bod, and respectful of women. He really just,,, wants to make the world better and gets a lot of shit for it more often than not for his relentlessly optimistic worldview.
Other: Wizard immigrant from Fairyland, moved to the US of A in order to get away from life. Funnily enough, many other magical beings had the same idea, and now it’s same shit, different dimension. At least there’s WiFi.

Carl was trying to ignore the world. When you were a wizard with the name "Carl" instead of something like "Starwalk Dreamfinder" you were bound to have struggles in life. This struggle was in retail. That stupid song was blasting over the speakers, Siren Song he knew but those sirens were untouchable so what could he do about it? It was a stupid fad, it would fade with time. He counted change, scanned items, but every single person in the store was humming that silly song. It was peppy, and catchy, he had to admit, but it was also enchanted. It took every bone in his wizard body not to sing along, and that stretched his patience. All these sirens sung about was love, or power, or sex, and he wasn't really interested in any of that. Sure, he'd like a promotion, but only to pay the bills. Sure, he was capable of attraction, but he wasn't ready yet, and besides, nobody had come into his life that he'd like to be ready for. So, he sat there, fuming, as his manager came over. A nice Harpy by the name of Skyscream, which in his world was a frozen dessert that allowed you to suspend the laws of gravity temporarily. "You okay, man?" she said, but immediately ruined Carl's hopes when she started to sing the chorus of the sirens' newest hit, Listen To Me. "Listen to me, listen to my voice. Soon, you'll forget you ever had a choice." the woman sang, and then stopped. "Seriously, though. You okay?"

"Yeah, fine." he sighed as the harpy walked away.

At present, two human girls walked into the store, laughing about some inside joke. As they entered, one of the girls’ laughter turned into singing along with song playing. This made the other girl laugh even harder.
“Lyn, Lyn,” she wheezed, “you sound so bad.”
“I know,” Lyn whined, “but it’s good.”
“C’mon, I want snacks.” The other girl, Josefine, pulled her along, as they had been holding hands. They made a beeline for the isle full of bagged chips and started looking and joking around.
Eventually, their talk dissolved into Lyn singing along to the song again. Josefine playfully nudged her with her elbow. “Seriously, dude, it’s so overrated. I don’t get it.”
“It’s good!” Lyn insisted. “Yeah, they play it all the time now, but it’s happened before. Remember when they played that one… uh, I forgot what it’s called, but they played it a lot on the radio a while back… it went like—”
She tried to hum a melody, but she lost it quickly. Soon she was humming to the siren song again. Josefine chuckled. “Yeah, yeah, I get what you mean. I’ll stick with my bossa nova, obrigada.”
After a bit more goofing around, they picked out their snacks and headed for the checkout counter.

Carl watched the two as they approached, with his luck they were going to burst into song at any moment. "So, how's your day going?" he asked, trying to keep from screaming as the hit replayed on the speakers. What, was this some sick joke? "Nice song on the radio, huh?" he said in a defeated voice. If it was going to replay, he might as well get earplugs. He hated siren song, as nice as it sounded, but he couldn't handle it as a wizard.

They placed the items they chose onto the counter. Sef had a bag of popcorn and soda bottle, while Lyn had a bag of crackers and a bottle of tea. They each muttered something of a greeting and Sef, the more extroverted of the two, added, “Yeah, it’s going good.”
At the cashier’s other question, she simply said, “Meh,” while Lyn nodded vigorously, even humming along again.

"Meh doesn't serve it justice. I hate the thing. Bloody sirens, always getting in people's business. And they don't even sound that good, when you think about it." he complained, then stopped. "Sorry, the song's been on the radio for forever. It's a tad bothersome, but I also don't really want to get fired."

@Tired-but-passionate

At this, Lyn started to look really sad, even embarrassed. Sensing this, Sef rubbed a comforting hand on her back, though she still looked at the cashier with interest. “Oh yeah? Everyone I know likes it, so it’s difficult to openly disagree,” here she raised an eyebrow at him. “— like you just did. But yeah,” she gave an apologetic glance to Lyn. “Not great. Never understood how it got so popular, personally.”
