(Okie dokie! I'll have a starter up soon!)
(Ok!)
(Hope this is alright.)
Ray stood at the Wilmington Bridge. It was a long walk from his house, but that was okay. He said he was going out with friends, which wasn't completely unbelievable. He loved spending time with his friends, they always made him smile. But it was different that time. It was getting late and he wasn't even on his way home.
His hands gripped the railing of the bridge hard, his knuckles paling slightly. His throat tightened with his grip, his face heating up with the tears flowing down it. He choked on his breaths within the cold, dark night. He whispered unheard apologies. Apologies to all those he hurt, to the people who felt the need to insult him, to the loved ones he was leaving behind, for the lies he told. For all of the time he had wasted.
He lifted himself over the rail, standing on the small amount of flooring on the other side. Just one step forward and it'd all be over. No one was there to see it. He dangled his foot over his hands still latched to the rail. Within the peripherals of his vision, he saw a glow. Not too far down the bridge, idle. His curiosity managed to get the best of him.
Reluctantly, he threw himself back over the rail and walked toward it. The glow only got brighter as he approached. Once he arrived, he leaned down and picked up the object carefully, examining it.
(Not trying to pressure you or anything, just curious about if you still wanted to do this or not. It's okay if you don't, just wondering.)
(I do. I've just been doing stuff for the past 2-ish days… Sorry!)
(No, no. It's chill. No need for an apology. And okie dokie!)
X sat on a rolling chair. He was texting the other players when his phone went "Ding!". He smiled. A new player… He thought texting back to another player. He quickly went to Ray's number and texted Hello there ^-^ And sat there, waiting for a response, twirling with the chair.
Ray's eyebrows shifted as he felt a vibration in his back pocket. It was his phone, of course. He slowly slid it out of his back pocket and opened it to his lock screen. A picture of him and his best friend, Arusu. He took a moment to smile at it before checking his notifications. Two from 'Contacts'. He opened the app to check who it was. One was from his concerned mother. The other from an unknown number. Of course, he answered his mother first.
'hey mom, just wanted to let you know that i'm okay and on my way home. lost track of time. love you, see you soon. <3'
He then opened the other conversation, confused and wary. He slowly typed up a response.
'Uhh, hello? Do I know you?'
(I'd hate to annoy you, but bump. You really don't have to do this if you don't want to.)
(Ya. Sorry. I've got no time. Sorry-)
(Nah, it's all good. No need to apologize to me lol.)
X chuckled and spun in his chair. Ah. That's something you'll find out on the way!😊 X was typing up a whole mess of a text. This is what it reed:
Welcome to the tasks! Here are different tasks to do!
1) Run faster then you can (don't worry I know ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°) ) - 1 Dice
2) Stand up to your bullies. (Don't be a wuss now!) - 2 Dice
3) Tell your mom the truth. (Oh you know what I'm talking about.) - 6 dice.
That's enough tasks for a newbie like you! Good luck!
You'll need it
(Yes I randomly come back to life)
(Okay lmao, let's see if I can get in the head-space to reply. Also, I suggest turning on spellchecker or Grammarly)
Ray stared at his phone in pure confusion. Who was this person? What were those tasks even supposed to mean? …what were the "dice" for? Nothing was making sense to him, not a single sentence. What were the consequence if he were to just ignore the texts and pretend like nothing happened? Surely it couldn't be too bad.
His eyes returned to the object in his hand, he began to wonder why he hadn't seen it before, as it had glowed intensely when he took notice to it. Furthermore, he wanted to know just why it was there. Maybe it had something to do with the mystery person texting him… no. It had to just be some sick prank by his classmates. He made his final decision to just move on and block the number. He began his soligavant walk home under what little illumination the street lights gave. The texts plastered themselves to his mind.
'Tell your mom the truth'
'Stand up to your bullies'
'Run faster than you can'
Gah, what on Earth was the last one supposed to mean? He shook his head, wavy, black hairs scattering about with the motion. It was all an enigma, but it was not something he'd will himself to figure out.
(I have It on. Grammarly to be precise. I need a premium but I don't have the money. So I work with the free version.)
