“Calgary, Alberta.” He answered, wincing when the doctor touched his leg.
The Doctor absentmindedly apologized.
“Calgary, Alberta.” He answered, wincing when the doctor touched his leg.
The Doctor absentmindedly apologized.
Avery nodded. Her eyes flickered to the doctor before back to Thomas.
The doctor gave him some more medicine through the IV after his examination.
"Feel better?" Avery asked him after he was given more medicine.
Thomas looked over to her and smiled, “Not yet.”
"Well you will soon." Avery assured him.
“Hah…probably.” He rested his head back against the pillow, “Thank you…”
"You don't need to thank me. Just get better." Avery smiled at him
Thomas nodded once, a small smile forming across his face, “Once I get better, I’ll get out of your hair so you can continue life as normal. I suppose I’ve thrown off your schedule, I apologize for that.” He didn’t seem too sorry at first glance, just peacefully happy.
"You have no reason to be sorry. None of this is your fault. I just want to make sure you're better." Avery said sincerely.
Thomas smiled gratefully, “You Are an anomaly, miss Avery. Most anyone I know would rather care for themselves instead of taking care of someone else…that includes me.”
Avery blushed and bit her lip, lowering her gaze to the hands in her lap. "Its nothing really. I just want to make sure you're alright."
Thomas sighed as the drugs began kicking in, “Awe…you’re so sweet.” He breathed loopily, “I’m getting tired again.”
Avery nibbled on her lip before bringing a hand up and pushing back his hair. "Go to sleep." She said softly.
Thomas’ eyelids fell halfway down, “Nn…goodnight, ‘very,” he loopily smiled to her before closing his eyes all the way. He drifted off to sleep easily with the help of the drugs. He dreamed of Siberia and, this time, Avery..
Avery waited until she was sure he was asleep before she grabbed her book and opened it up again. She would have to go home soom, check on his dog, shower, get new clothes. But she didn't want to leave just yet
Thomas slept peacefully with an arm sling over his midsection. His hair was a tangled mess over the pillow, having not had to chance to brush it or completely clean himself up yet after the accident. At least he was generally clean apart from his hair.
Avery sat comfortably in the chair, pulling her knees up to her chest. She yawned quietly before focusing her attention back on her book
Thomas stirred in his sleep once or twice, but generally he was a quiet sleeper. He didn't even snore.
