Dot walked through the empty corridors, dropping her things off in her locker. She pulled out the few binders she needs for her first few classes with a huff- they were always incredibly heavy, shoved to the brim with notes and papers. Her steps were still quick as she walked, though, even if they were a bit uneven. Dot made her way to the old music room- a friend of hers often told her how nobody was ever there, and the acoustics were perfect to practice in.
The stairs were killer to walk up, especially with all of her books, but Dot managed. She froze in shock as she walked in- Dot definitely didn’t expect to see anyone else in here.
“Oh- woah, you startled me!“ Dot rocked back and forth on her heels, a small laugh edging into her voice. “Man, Will said nobody ever came in here.”
He almost jumped and showed his startlment when she came in, but he took a deep breath.
Turning to face her, the sunlight flew into the room and through the windows giving his skin a golden glow to his pale skin. It was golden hour after all.
He leaned of the piano with a chill expression, blowing his black hair out of his face, his dark eyes looking straight at her, not looking amused in the slightest.
“Well… whoever Will is.. they were wrong. I come in here every single day. What do want?”
He asks in his low, calm voice.
What was this happy go lucky girl doing in the music room nobody ever went to. She didnt follow him right?
Maybe she just came in here to practice? No, he really didnt want that to happen.
The dusty room fit the perfect aesthetic that he absolutely loved. He couldn’t let someone potentially remove those gorgeous laced white curtains. The tone it gave to the sleek black piano made it feel more old timey.
The way the heeled shoes of his school uniform clacked against the floor of the empty room, making it echo around the whole room.
But it wasnt for sure that she would mess everything up. So he guessed he would let her in.
“Ha haah, I guess he was.. I was really only in here to practice my vocals somewhere that wasn’t the cafeteria.” Dot set down her books on the floor, crouching next to them as she dug around for her sheet music. “You don’t mind, do you? I’m kinda desperate here.”
He stood, looking down at her, standing at 6 feet two inches, he did it quite a bit.
“Well it depends. How long are you going to be in here? Are you going to mess anything up? Clean? Or just sing. This place isn’t somewhere to be messed with. You do know that right?” He says in a challenging voice, taking a step towards her every question he asked the girl.
“Jesus fuck, dude, I just wanted to sing. You’re acting like this is some kinda church, man, it’s just an empty classroom. Chill out.” Dot wrinkled her nose, taking a few steps back after gathering her things back up. “You don’t own the place.”
“Well I don’t want you messing it up. This is the only place where i can actually enjoy the hell of a life. I don’t want you coming in if you’re going to make any changes. Though, you can stay and practice. I don’t care” he offered a smile, neverminding his fangs and not caring about it much.
“There’s literally not a single thing in here for me to change, unless you think I’m moving the dang piano outside.” Dot dropped her books again, hands on her hips. She had to crane her head up to look at him, which was slightly uncomfortable, given that she hadn’t pulled her hair back that morning. “Are you practicing for class or something? With the piano?”
"no. I don't have any classes involving anything that requires me to be musically inclined. " he says sitting back down at the piano, though not playing it.
"I'm guessing you sing? " he asked raising a dark eyebrow, a clean slit going through his right brow. His lip ring shining a bit from the light coming through the window
“Tragic. I’m in theatre. You heard about the musical we’re putting on, right?” Dot’s eyes lit up excitedly. “We’re doing Legally Blonde, it’s gonna be dope!” She squealed, her defensive facade quickly falling away to her normal bubbly excitement. “You should come see it!”
He smirked a half smile almost seductively as he shook his head, a small chuckle escaping him.
“No I haven’t heard about it” he lied “tell me about this play. What time? Is it in the school building in the auditorium or what?” He leaned back. He secretly liked socializing. Though small amounts. He can’t handle a lot of people. It annoys him way too much. Hence why he comes so early. Well…that’s one of the excuses he has.
He smirked a half smile, almost seductively as he shook his head, a small chuckle escaping his soft lips. “No…I haven to heard” he lied. “Is it in the schools auditorium or what? And what time?” He leaned back, crossing his arms as he did. He secretly liked socializing. Though small amounts. One or two people. He can’t handle a lot. Hence why he comes to school so early.
Well…that was one of the reasons….
Dot completely brushed off any seductive undertones in Min’s smile, now too excited about promoting the musical to focus on anything else. “Yeah, it’s in the auditorium! We’ve got two shows, Friday and Saturday. February 14th and 15th. Here, at the auditorium. Two shows on Friday, we’re doing half the show at school to raise interest in the morning, but the whole show is at 6:30. It’s a Saturday matinee on the 15th, 2:00 PM. You should come, it’s such a fun musical!” Dot exclaimed, bouncing from foot to foot.
His grey white eyes widened at all of the information the girl had thrown at his face and down his throat. Though quickly swallowing it. He remembered it all.
“Okay Ms. Hyper. Give me a good reason to go and I will.” He says turning back to the piano with a sigh, rolling his eyes.
“Mm, let’s see… there’s a ton of girls in short shorts and crop tops, if that means anything to you.” Dot shrugged, adjusting her uniform skirt. “Including yours truly, and I must say, I look hot. But also, like, the music’s dope or whatever.” Dot laughed, really only partially thinking through what she was saying.
He stood and looked her up and down, quite impressed actually. She was cute. Cuter than the average girl at this school. “That doesn’t mean anything to me. Sorry. You don’t have a valid reason. I could care less about the music. I’ve never even seen legal blondes or whatever it’s called. So I’ll pass.” He says leaning on the counter, still looking down on her. Her shortness was hella cute, but her personality sure was something. He didn’t know whether to be annoyed and leave or attracted. Either way, he wasn’t interested
“Ugh, fuck! Okay, here’s this- Mrs Edwards is giving out extra credit if you show her proof you went. Also the theatre club needs money bad.” Dot huffed, rolling her eyes.
“I have perfect grades… you do know that right?” He raised his eyebrows with a breathy chuckle.
“Here, 20 bucks.” He says handing him a 20 out of his wallet from his back pocket.
“There, now you have no reason to want me to come.” He offered a smile, though a tinge of annoyance on his lips.
“Mmm, I didn’t know that, ‘cause I don’t know you.” Dot looked down at the bill in her hands. “This.. does not deter me at all. This is just going towards snacks for rehearsal.” She looked back up a him, stuffing the $20 into her own back pocket. “Thanks, though!” She purred, a glimmer in her eye.
His voice low and full of tiredness, he rolled his eyes for about the third time in this conversation.
“Yeah just be grateful” he ran his fingers through his messy black hair, looking almost blue in the sunlight as it shone on him. He wasnt like those things from Twighlight where their skin shimmered like diamonds. Though it did seem pretty cool. But since he had clothes over his skin so it didnt effect him.
“I literally said thank you.” Dot huffed, pulling her sheet music out once more. She held her wrist up to her teeth, taking off a hair tie. After setting her packet of songs between her knees she sighed, pulling her hair back into a messy bun. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I came in here to practice, and that’s what I intend on doing.”
“You basically complained about it beforehand” he says sitting back down, “but alright. Go on ahead.” Getting out his phone, he sat up on the window sill and didnt say another word
Dot pulled out her phone, starting her backing track. She tapped her foot to the beat, trying to remember where to come in. When her part finally came in she didn’t skip a beat, immediately laughing into song. Dot was good- there was no denying that. It felt like she had become her character, even if it was just this one song.
After a while of ignoring her, he couldn’t help but turn to her and listen. “Well damn” he raised his eyebrows, showing the fact that he was impressed.
Tapping to the beat with his foot, he hummed along quietly. But man was he itching to play the piano.
Dot finished her song, mentally going over everywhere she had messed up. She jotted. a couple notes onto her sheet music, ready to start the song again. Dot easily practiced for upwards of an hour, especially if she had any other theater kids there to give her comments or practice along with her.
Once she ended, he clapped slowly a bit. “You’re pretty good.. damn” he shook his head.
Though he had nothing else to say. He wasnt one to show enthusiasm about almost anything. Though there was the occasional minor exception. Like the sale on chocolates the day after Valentine’s Day. Oh man, those were the best. Something he looked forward to every year
