There’s always another side to the story, even if it may not seem that way.

Soldatov Stanislavovich, a man of little words and preferring to let his actions speak for him. With little to no mercy but also swift, cunning decisions, it’s no wonder he’s one of the most respected and feared soldiers by rebels and allies alike.

You are a rebel. Or an assassin, at least. Knowing that the killing of one of their greatest soldiers will be an immense blow to the Empire’s plans, they have sent you to the village in where Soldatov is rumoured to be coming to. They’ve spent months building up an alias, preparing for this mission..now you’re on the phase of finding him, and figuring out how to complete the mission.

..if you get that far, that is.

Classic assassin X target, here. I’d very much rather this be BxG, so make your character a woman, please. Age range is either a few years younger than 26 or a few years older than that give or take.
The setting of this is modern-ish. No magic or anything like that, please.

RULES

  1. Nothing too OP, I reserve the right to say no
  2. Try to be descriptive and have good grammar! English isn’t my first language so I can always understand if the wording is a bit weird or whatever, but make an attempt.
  3. I have dodgy internet so I may go off for certain periods of time, but try to respond at least once per week and not let this die. If it’s been inactive feel free to bump! You won’t annoy me, don’t worry lol
  4. No metagaming (knowing things told out of RP)
  5. Follow all RP rules
  6. If things get too steamy, we heading to PMs
  7. There will be cussing and such, probably violence too.
  8. Have fun! Or not. Your choice.

Name: Anabella Marsden
Alias: Victoria "Vic" Palseni
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Appearance: Vic has waist length, softly wavy pale pink hair. Her skin is a slight tan, and she has a a small beauty mark on the left side of her face. Her eyes are her defining feature: her left one is a surprisingly stunning grey, while her right is a brilliant telemagenta.
She typically wears something similar to this. She makes all her clothes herself.
Strengths: She can make anything a weapon, and she's especially skilled in fencing and parkour. She is also extremely good at making you uncomfortable by staring at you without blinking or speaking, and her two extremely different coloured eyes help with that.
Weaknesses: Slightly terrified of birds, has very little emotions, highly allergic to fish (but only if ingested)
Personality: Quiet, reserved, happy to kill the right people, soft spot for children, determined, fierce
Other: She was born to a really wealthy family, the Marsdens. She was kidnapped at age 5, on the hopes that a ransom sum would be paid. Her family didn't care, and rather than killing an innocent child they took her as their own. She was now Victoria Palseni, but goes by both names depending on where she is.

(is she ok?)

Name: Soldatov Stanislavovich
Alias: Not applicable
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Appearance: Soldatov is a tall man of about 6’3 and weighing around 180 lbs. Much of his true features remain unknown to the general public, aside from a few people, though I’m sure there’s records of his full face…somewhere.
From what most people have seen is that he’s got pale skin, normal for someone of a northern background where they don’t get much sun. He’s got dark brown, nearly black eyes, and some people believe him to have shortish, but not cut right to the scalp, black hair that he keeps tucked under a ushanka.
Bringing us onto the topic of clothing, Soldatov is well known for wearing dark colours which blend well with his type of job. His clothing he wears is suitable for the cool temperature often experienced where he lives; he wears trench coats typically or something of that similar design. Boots as well, and gloves.
As I mentioned before, his entire face isn’t visible, but his eyes, and sometimes parts of his head is.
Strengths: Sharp shooting, he’s got a good aim. Has that sort of commanding aura to him, that makes most of his men follow him, and even people that share his ideals.
He’s also pretty determined and rarely gives up on something, even after being told not to follow up with them.
Weaknesses: Failure, has an extreme fear of that. Mixed amounts of patience, can be extremely impatient for certain things. Prefers not to climb stuff.
Personality: He never speaks that much, preferring to let his actions speak for him (or using gestures.) Soldatov has a low tolerance for those he finds ‘annoying’. Still, he’s very inquisitive, interested in learning more about things he finds..well, interesting.
Despite his seemingly serious demeanour, Soldatov has been described by those who ‘know him’ as someone they only keep around because of his skill and experience, and ability to get the job done. He appears to believe he was born in the past, despite his age, and may seem ‘crazy’ to some that dig into his true personality.
Soldatov is eager to impress as well, meaning he will sacrifice just about anything to complete a mission. He does not like failure. And if you were to say, give him a choice between two solutions in a problem; one being simple and quick, the other being more flashier, he would chose the latter. He does get jealous of others that he considers better than him pretty easily as well.
Tying in to his ‘eager to impress’ mood, he’s always happy to teach others of his views on things, and when asked, he almost drops that serious viewpoint and becomes a very vibrant speaker.

Other: Speaks multiple languages. Not much is known about him besides what the general public knows; almost all accessible files of him have redacted information for whatever reason. This means no one really know where he came from either, but we can assume somewhere up north. It’s just really hard to tell how he stepped up the ranks so fast.

(Yup! Looks good, did you want me to start or did you want to?)

The town was located in the more rural area of the area, surrounded by trees and rich resources. Though despite this, there were bigger cities, just a bit further away. Although it was a relatively rural area, the town did have things like cars and such. Not as many as bigger cities, and most of the cars that you did see were owned by visitors to the town, not the residents.

A line of trucks drove on the road to the town. They were in no hurry whatsoever, and their designs were somewhat militaristic. They were armoured trucks, after all. In one of them was Soldatov, who sat with his group, ready to exit when the time came. What they came to this town here for was simple; think of stopping by this town for a pit stop. Things would soon calm down in the night, he assumed. But Soldatov could guess there were some people looking about. It wasn’t everyday you saw trucks like these moving about like this.

Soldatov looked to his second in command and nodded, waving a gesture over to them as the first truck parked, and the men and women began to get off to set up camp for the next bit of while.

Vic perched on a roof, surveying the town. She's been trained for stuff like this her whole life, and this was apparently what is was leading up to. Yeah right. But she was getting paid for this, so she was going to do it anyway. Her pink hair framed her face, and the only things visible were her eyes. Her mouth and nose was covered, and this sort of added an element of mystery to her.
She spotted what seemed to be a military convoy in the distance, and she slunk along the roofs until she was there. When she arrived, she thought it might be a good idea to try and spot this Soldatov guy.

Deleted user

Most of the trucks had parked. It seemed like there were a lot of men and women coming out of those things; which there were, to be fair: but it paled in comparison towards some other areas.

Soldatov finally exited from his, boots hitting the ground. He surveyed the area, making sure everyone that he needed to watch was settling in, before striding off. He had a few letters to send to the capital, and he decided it was best he get them sent in now before anything else happened. A few others did too, as they made their way down the roads towards the post office. Soldatov being one of them.

Deleted user

A man exited one of the vans, and Vic saw that he matched the description she had been given perfectly, save for the fact that she couldn't see much of the bottom half of his face. This must be Soldatov, she thought.
Vic watched the man, seeing who he interested with and where he went.

Deleted user

Soldatov arrived at the post office fairly quickly. Not because he was travelling that fast - it wasn’t that far, from his current location anyway. He seemed to deposit a letter, staying there for less than five minutes, then leaving, with something in hand.
Soldatov didn’t turn around to his previous location. Instead, he moved onwards on the main road of town, in direction of the exits of town.

He seemed to carry a box of some sorts in arm. The contents, to onlookers, were unknown; with the only people knowing what’s in them being Soldatov himself and the ones who packaged it in there.

Deleted user

Vic watched the man matching Soldatov's description, following him. She saw him go into a post office, remaining inside for around five minutes. She saw him leave with a package on hand. She wanted to know what was in it. It could be helpful.
She was surprised when he headed to the outskirts of the town, rather than back to where he came. Something's up.

Deleted user

Soldatov continued onwards, no one really bothering him or stopping him on the way out. He moves evenly, he’s in no hurry as he enters the outskirts, the forest.

It’s only when he’s not even that far from town does he drop the package gently to the ground, opening it. He unveils some type of technology - it looks like a trap of some sorts; similar in design to a trip wire, for spies or any raids to the town.

He holds it in the air for a few seconds, inspecting it, then standing up, kicking the now empty box aside. His focus seems to be on the trap now, and getting them set up. Soldatov seems to circle around, like he doesn’t know where to go, before he actually starts setting things up.

Deleted user

When Soldatov exited town, Vic got creative. As the buildings stopped being there, she climbed into the trees. She was high enough that he shouldn't be able to see her, but low enough so that she could make out what he was doing. What's he doing? She thought, watching him do stuff with the thing that was in the package he'd gotten from the post office. She tried to figure out what it was.

Deleted user

Soldatov seemed to stop after a while, stepping back to make sure everything was in order. And it was, as it is typically with him.

What he had set up was like some time of trap. Hard to see due to the cover the vegetation provided, while also doing its job. It worked like a tripwire, but at the slightest touch of the wire it would alert the surrounding area of the intruder’s presence by a shrill whistle.

Complicated technology, but Soldatov knew the importance of it. He was aware that smaller towns like this were sometimes targets of the rebel raids. So was the rest of Mainland.

He stood there for a few more moments before marching on forwards, for whatever reason. It seemed Soldatov was not going to return to town just yet.

Deleted user

What is he doing? Vic thought, following him through the trees. She was curious about what he'd set up, but she didn't want to risk anything. It didn't seem that he had anything on him anymore, but he wasn't heading back into town. She could easily get him now, but if he was doing other stuff she didn't want to interrupt it.

Deleted user

(Very sorry for late response! Internet cut out, sorry!)

Soldatov continued until he arrived at a clearing. The clearing had a small pond - it could be a puddle, where rainfall gathered but didn’t leave for all he knew. He scans the area, not looking up into the trees just yet. He seems more worried about the idea of someone coming from the ground.

Once he’s done, he sits by the water’s edge and begins to remove some items from himself. They all have one thing in common, though - they’re weapons. Small ones, like knives and such - but still weaponry. He begins to clean them, however. For whatever reason, he’s chosen to come out to the forest to clean his stuff. Perhaps he finds it more peaceful, or maybe just convenient, considering he’s already out here.

Deleted user

Vic contemplated dropping down and slitting his throat. That's too easy Victoria. He's probably expecting someone from the ground. So she kept thinking of ways. Sure, it would be easiest to just do it now, get it over and done with. But…he was probably expecting something like that. She didn't know what to do, so she stayed in the trees.

Deleted user

Soldatov continues cleaning his items. To a person with good eyes, and at the correct angle, they would be able to see him washing the blood from the knives into the water. Who’s blood was it? There’s not really any way to tell, unless you were at the scene.

He begins to hum something, like a song, almost. He’s not singing, though. Definitely not singing.

He brings out a small cloth and starts to dry the knives.

Deleted user

Blood? Whose blood is that? Vic decided to get closer, but via the trees rather than the ground. She jumped from tree to tree, getting to a different angle. She landed on one branch, and as she jumped off it disconnected and fell to the ground. Fuck.

Deleted user

Soldatov tensed up, pulling his knife from the ground. Or one of them at least. Should've brought my rifle, he hissed at himself in his own stupidity. In times like this it was foolish to go out alone, or if you did, bring defense. He would need to rely on knives for now, although he had little experience using them in active combat.

He stands up, falling silent, and turning in direction of the noise, gripping his knife.

Deleted user

Vic moved over a little. Maybe if she wasn't in the area of the dropped branch, he wouldn't see her. However, if he was to look up, all he would see is a grey and pink eye staring back at him.
