Isaac nodded, scrolling through his playlist and looking for a song Nathaniel might like. He ended up picking one of his favorites, namely “Beauty’s On The Inside” by Chloe Adams. Upon starting the tune, he noticed that the angel boy had some problems with his wings and chair he was on. He stood up and went to the storage space in the corner of the room, picking out a stool.
“Here, might better for ya” Isaac said, placing the stool by Nathaniel.
"Oh, thank you!" Nathaniel shifted over to the stool and sighed softly in relief, flirting his wings a couple times now that they were free. "Mm… I don't think I've heard this one before…" He hummed thoughtfully to himself while he listened.
Lacerta jumped a bit at the voice that had spoken to him, but he turned to the boy with a nervous smile. “I was just headed there myself. Suppose we can head there together now.” The lizard gestures for the other boy to follow him, keeping his steps short so as to not walk too far ahead. Lacerta wasn’t given a map, he didn’t even know maps were available to people, but it didn’t take a genius to figure out where the rooms were.
Isaac just gave a quickly nod, sitting back at his own seat, going back to his playlist. Of course, there was some time before the morning call and the entrance of the homeroom teachers. He was skeptical as to who will be in charge of this class. Hopefully, they’re not so strict. That was all he really wanted.
His attention was turned back to Nathaniel when a question popped in his mind.
“In the high chance that we’re not in the same dorm room, you wanna hang out in mine some time?” He asked casually.
The figure gave a nervous smile as they followed.
“You look like one of ours actually. Are you a demi-human as well? As in, a human-lizard hybrid?” The figure had asked, seemingly wanting to break the ice. Albeit, that wasn’t the best question to ask but judging from their wacky personality from having a map yet unable to process it, it wasn’t all that weird.
“Oh! I am indeed.” Lacerta smiled brightly, his eyes lighting up. “The name is Lacerta Almaraz, and you are?”
A wave of relief washed over Lacerta now that he knew there were others of his kind attending this school. That made things a lot easier, and it meant he could actually be himself more often than not.
“Oh! I’m Alvin, nice to meet you,” the figure introduced. “Oh, I’m a boy, by the way. Please don’t get confused,” he immediately said with a small pout. Of course it was confusing, the dude had long blue hair with equally sparkling blue eyes and a very cute costume, not exactly what you would expect from a male of sorts.
Nathaniel flushed at the offer, a bit taken aback. "Oh! Yeah, sure! That could be fun." He smiled, drumming his fingers across his leg in time with the music. "It's gonna be weird living at the school like this, huh? I guess it's kinda preparing us for college."
Isaac nodded, tapping his feet to the music.
“Indeed it is,” he replied. He turned to Nathaniel again, his face unfazed and extremely hard to read.
“In case we are in the same room, well, I would like to get to know you better,” he added.
Nathaniel nodded a bit, considering. "Um… what all do you what to know?" He asked curiously. "I'm open to questions, I think? I'll try to answer everything as honestly as I can…"
“Alvin..” Lacerta repeated, nodding his head firmly. “A pleasure to meet you.”
How many times had Alvin been confused for a girl on sight, he wondered. After all, it wasn’t every day you found a boy wearing such… effeminate clothes.
He tightened his ponytail and shoved his hands back into his pockets, coming to a halt before a door. “This is our stop, you ready to meet everyone?”
“I don’t really have a question in mind right now, but if I do, I’ll ask,” Isaac regarded, giving out a small sigh out of the little tiredness he had. If he was being honest with himself, he was questioning his sanity right now as to why he wanted to talk to Nathaniel rather than the people he already knew.
“Always ready,” Alvin answered, readjusting the small hat he had on and making a small fist pump more to himself than anyone else. His eyes, somehow, looked like they were sparkling with excitement. His physical stature was quite small, standing at only 5’2 and with quite a slim and fragile body. It’s not weird for people to have assumed him to be a girl.
Lacerta gently pushed open the door, taking a deep breath as he stepped inside the room. A few faces turned to him, some friendly while others appeared cautious of his arrival. He looked back at Alvin, gesturing with his head to come in. The sooner they got into the class, the sooner they could try and make some allies among the other students. However, from the looks of most of them, that was easier said than done.
The people who were in the class; three to be exact, were all males with pretty different vibes coming from each of them.
The one closest to the door had dark blonde hair tied to a short ponytail and a pair of golden eyes. The one at the back of the class had long black hair covering his void-like pitch black irises. The last was the boy sitting in front of the class beside the first, who… if all of his features haven’t shown it already, was the lizard demi-human Alvin had mentioned.
The boy looked at Lacerta with narrowed eyes, tilting his head slightly.
Lacerta smiled again, his signature cheeky but friendly grin. “Buenos días.” Best to make a good first impression, especially since the others appeared superior to him in every single way. They had much better posture, amazing features, and overall were surrounded by an air of dominance. If that didn’t put a thorn in his ego, he didn’t know what would.
“Is this the part where we introduce ourselves or am I to read your minds?”
“If you can do that, that’d be cool~” the dark blonde boy said with a small laugh.
“But yeah, I’m Crescent. Pleasure to meet you,” he introduced, turning to the boy beside him who had a very distinctive radioactive symbol tattooed on his neck.
“My name is Lacer, nice to meet you,” he answered the call and turned to the dude at the back of the class.
“Curtis,” he answered sternly, looking at the dark-colored novel he had in his hand with much attention.
Lacerta nodded his head after each boy said their name, looking a little while longer at the boy who introduced himself as ‘Lacer’.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you all. I’m Lacerta.” He strained the ‘s’ a little longer than usual, his grin softening into a friendly smile. “This chestnut over here is Alvin.” he gestured with his eyes to the smaller boy still at the door. “We’re happy to be here.”
At least, he assumed they were.
"Alright! Um… basic stuff… I'm seventeen? And… um… an angel, but I think that's probably obvious." He considered for a few seconds. "I'm… uh… s-single?" He offered, flushing a bit in embarrassment.
The boys nodded a bit before looking between Lacer and Lacerta.
“Wait wait wait wait—“ the boy named Lacer stood up from his seat and looked very curiously at Lacerta.
“Are you… by chance… a demi-human as well? Lizard?” He asked, his looks giving off a slight hint of hope.
Isaac turned when Nathaniel mentioned the last fact.
“You wanna change that?” He asked teasingly with a small smile before turning back to his phone.
“Who am I kidding, that sort of happiness won’t ever happen to me,” he said to himself, letting out a soft sigh as he changed the song to a more calm tune.
Nathaniel flushed harder and looked away, toying with the tips of his wings nervously. "I-I… um…" He looked up at Isaac's second statement. Wait. He was joking. Of course he was joking. I'm so stupid… "Well, not with that attitude. You'll never find someone to date if you mope around like that. I think you deserve to be happy, if that counts for anything." He smiled softly.
“Uh yeah.” Lacerta’s eyes narrowed slightly then widened again. “Holy smokes!” Now that he looked at him more clearly, he could see the familiar reptilian features in Lacer’s eyes. He hadn’t seen another demi-reptilian for such a long time, he was beginning to think that they had somehow become near extinct. “I’ve finally found you.” he breathed quietly, a bright sparkle igniting his jade green eyes.
Isaac smiled softly at Nathaniel’s words. The door to the room would be slid open as a figure walked in, wearing rather comfortable clothes; a yellow knitted sweater and a white jacket which looked quite soft. He also had sunglasses on which were taken off when he entered the class.
“Morning all you beautiful people!” he immediately said.
“Morning Arthur,” Aisen said calmly, flipping the page of his novel silently.
“Oh my god—“ Lacer stepped back, opening his mouth as he pointed at Lacerta. Of course, he was surprised to even know that another demi-reptilian was in the school, moreover, in his class.
“You and I buddy, we gotta represent our fams,” Lacer laughed as he stated what he did.
Alvin looked between the two, pouting slightly at Lacerta’s attention had shifted from him to the lizard. He was always yearning for attention. Alvin tucked Lacerta’s sleeve softly, wanting his attention to come back.
“Sounds like the beginning of what I hope is a beautiful friendship between us.” Lacerta chuckled, letting out a small “huh?” as someone tugged at him. He looked down to find Alvin holding onto him. “I haven’t forgotten about you, lil chestnut, I promise.” he gently patted the top of the small boy’s head. “Let’s find our seats, I expect class will be starting soon.”
"Good morning!" Nathaniel smiled softly as he watched the newcomer arrive. Fuck. Everyone here is hot. He blushed lightly again at the right, but tried to force it away. With my luck, he's probably not into guys anyway… god, I'm hopeless. Just shut up for once, idiot.
Alvin rolled his eyes a bit, following Lacerta while still holding onto his sleeve.
Lacer chuckled softly, sitting back down and looking back at the two.
“Class is starting in like half an hour so we have some time to talk, lizard boy. Well, technically, that’s the both of us,” Lacer giggled a bit.
The newcomer raised a brow at Nathaniel.
“Who’s the snack beside you, Zacky?” The boy had asked confidently.
“His name is Nathaniel. He’s a sweet boy so please be mannered,” Isaac mentioned as the boy came to the seat in front of him.
“Of course!” Arthur answered his friend’s request.
The sound of running came from the hall as the door slid open. Peeking into the class was arguably the cleanest face within the school. His features were indescribable at its best; his light gray hair, his body which had a clear lightly muscled feature, and his incredibly attractive eyes. The boy who had peeked his head in had a cool demeanor yet a pretty wacky personality.
“I’m sorry, is this 4-A?” He asked quickly.
“Nope,” Aisen answered as the boy gave a nod and went his way, closing the door on his way out.
The door to class 4-D was opened when the same figure had walked in.
“4-A?” He asked, only to be met with a couple of stares.
Alvin had nearly gasped at how the man looked. He looked almost dreamy, he didn’t look real.
“Eh… no, sorry man,” the one named Crescent answered after some time, making the man nod before he went his way. Although… the class were labeled. Perhaps he just didn’t see it.
