@PrettyLittlePyro

(Page 20!)

"I will. I would hate to get in trouble for poisoning you when I didn't in the first place." He shrugged. "Or maybe I said I did, in some unknown code words or something."

(lol)

"We should probably ask what we're drinking, in case it really is poisoned." Joanna laughed softly, taking his arm. "We should probably go look for him now, we don't want to lose track of what we're here for."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"Probably," he said with a sigh. "So, have you seen him yet?" He asked of the target, scanning the crowd of rich businessmen in the room around them.

@PrettyLittlePyro

"I don't think so, but honestly, I don't know." Arsen shrugged. "Too bad. I want to do this interview quickly and enjoy the rest of the party."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"We shall." He sent her the smallest of smiles and looked around, trying to find the target. He saw someone else, instead. "Uh oh," he murmured. "What are Luna and Jake doing here?"

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

"Don't you remember them mentioning they'd be here?" Joanna asked softly, turning away from the couple she was supposedly related to. "Come on, just act like you didn't see them. We'll be fine."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"I… we were supposed to be coming here to work on their behalf," he said in a hopeless tone, but he didn't drop his act as a loving husband. He turned away from them, and moved toward a corner of the room, where he could look for the target in peace.

Suddenly, a bright light burst through the room, as if from the sun, but cleaner and purer and whiter. Arsen threw his hands up to block the light from his eyes, but the aftereffects of the light burned his eyelids. He blinked, trying to get the spots from his vision. "What was-" he started to say, but felt a blinding pain in his head. He hissed.

Joanna sighed softly, looking up at him from leaning against the wall they had walked over to. She was planning something mentally, trying to get it into words. "We'll be fine… as long as we-" Though she was interrupted by Arsen's hiss of pain.

The color drained from her face, and she froze up. What on earth was she suppose to do? Clearly this was something similar to what had happened at the hotel. But she still didn't even know what had happened. 'What do I…I do?'

@PrettyLittlePyro

"What was that?" He groaned. His previous headache had returned in full force, and then some. Images flashed in front of his eyes, and he winced. Most of the pain seemed to go to a long, narrow scar on the back of his neck, where it pulsed like fire. It was agony.

With an effort of will, he composed himself and tried to act like nothing was hurting him, although when he straightened, the movement sent a shock of pain through him. What was this? It was like nothing he had ever known before. It hit him straight in the core. Did that mean that they had been compromised? Should they leave?

(I apologize for not responding. I haven’t forgotten you, I promise. I’m just kinda stuck right now. I’ve been at a writing block for the past few days, and I wanna make sure I write something good in response.)

@PrettyLittlePyro

(It's totally fine, I get it. I haven't been responding to a lot of my roleplays either. I have no motivation sometimes. Take as much time as you need!)

In a panic, she took hold of his arm and half dragged, half pushed him along. When she found a door that was unlocked, she pulled him in and sat him down in one of the seats. "What the hell is going on?" Joanna snapped, worry laced over her whole face.

"Why now? This is not the time for me to be losing you, Arsen. You had all week to do this, and now you start going out on me." Joanna whispered, dropping her head in her hands as she paced back and forth. Her steps were slow and heavy, her shoulders sinking more and more. "We're gonna fail this stupid mission, and it's gonna be the end of the line for me. I can't do this alone, we don't have much time."

@PrettyLittlePyro

(XD sounds like what I do.)

"I'm fine," Arsen forced out. He pushed her away, forcing himself to stand straight. The pain was terrible, but he tried to ignore it. "I don't know what's going on, but I won't let us fail. I'll be fine. I have to be."

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

(Lol… on a more random note, how are you?)

Joanna glanced at him, keeping her balance when he pushed her aside. “Lying to me won’t help, Arsen. You’re not okay, sit back down.” She directed him, point to the chair. “I’m not going anywhere until you’re not in excruciating pain. There’s no point, we’re gonna stick out as soon as we walk out of this closet.” Joanna mumbled a bit, sighing weakly. Her few seconds of panic were gone, as she attempted to get back to adult mode. This was important, she couldn’t freak out.

(Also, what if this room is right next to where they’re having the meeting?)

@PrettyLittlePyro

(Incredibly bored XD. I've realized how much I need a life, and how that will never actually happen. You?)
(And I like the idea of being next to the meeting! But how will they get their memories back?)

Arsen shook his head. "No. I have to do this. I can't let us fail, just because I can't stand a little headache. I'll be fine, I promise." He was pretty sure that he wouldn't be, but he didn't need to worry her anymore. She was being the responsible one, and he had to just suck it up and be a man.

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

(Oof, very similar. I haven't done anything really. I have gotten to talk to friends though! So that's nice.)
(Mmmm- they could be talking about it. The meeting I mean. They could be discussing about Joanna and Arsen, leaving the two to figure out what the heck they're talking about… which of course, leads to memory regain.)

"Come on, please just sit down. If you collapse out there, I'm pretty sure that will draw a lot of attention." Joanna begged him, taking his arm to lead him over to the chair. "Even if you come with me, we need to figure out a plan. This is going to be a lot more difficult then previously thought. We have to find one man, among that crowd. How are we going to do that?"

@PrettyLittlePyro

(That's awesome! I wish I could talk to my friends… but they're all paranoid… even through phone… did you know that apparently COVID is passed on through eye contact? XD)
(Ooh, yes! And then maybe none of the rebels know that Jo and Arsen are there?)

"That's a good question," Arsen said. He considered. "I probably can't use my ability to sense him, because it might get seen, or noticed. So that won't work. I think we could try to get to a higher place and look from above, to see if we can spot him from there."

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

(Oh really? Well, guess I'm doomed then. Lol. You could always do a phone-phone call, where you can't see faces if they're that worried.)
(Yup! If you're cool with that, of course.)

Joanna crossed her arms over her chest, feeling a smile pull up on her lips. "I'm not getting on your back. I know I'm shorter, but not that short." Joking, she gave him a smirk. It was silly, but a little light hearted joking would help them to relax. "But that's probably the best idea."

@PrettyLittlePyro

(That's true. But you never know, maybe it's passed on through voices, too! XD my friends are so paranoid, it's crazy.)
(Okee! So then they reveal a lot… and the poor babies…)

Arsen snorted, mood lifted slightly, although the joke was kind of dumb. "Are you sure? I'm pretty strong. I think I could carry you." He shrugged. "We could see if there's some sort of back staircase that we could climb. I saw a second floor, so, I mean, we could try there."
