The Indlovu were a previously numerous race, known for their often alluring songs they could sing at adulthood, using it to lure prey closer. Once they came closer, the Indlovu would kill them swiftly. They were known for their beauty as well, but often, in nature; if it's pretty, it's usually pretty dangerous.

As time went on and human colonization began, the Indlovu began to get hunted, and gradually, their numbers fell as humans figured out how to take down those creatures. The training to take down an Indlovu was long and hard, since you needed to be able to resist their songs. And even then, Indlovu were powerful fighters otherwise - in their early days, the hunters lost many.

And yet, to this day, it is rumored only a few hundred Indlovu remain.

Hunters are not needed as much anymore, so they are not sent out as heavily as they were back then. And with better equipment, you don't really need big groups, either. A solo hunter can take down an adult Indlovu, though Elders (if there are any left) still need groups sent after them. The children are even easier, it's a matter of tracking them down is all.

On the planet of Khewzi, the former Indlovu homeworld, now human claimed, a town gives reports of a rare Indlovu sighting. The Indlovu sighted is said to be smaller than an adult, so it is to be said it is perhaps a young adult instead of fully grown. It should be dealt with quickly, before it causes any problems. Though…this one hasn't sung anyone to their deaths yet. But we won't risk one running around, won't we?

Khewzi: The planet of the RP. A full day on Khewzi is 25 hours, with 15 of those hours being night, and the rest being day. Night takes up most of its days, and with lack of light pollution, the stars are very visible almost all day. The terrain has small vegetation, but the forests that the Indlovu are known to live in have fairly 'Earth sized' average trees, meaning they aren't like redwood trees or anything like that. It also has some wetlands in the South and in the West, some drylands, which are very open.

Indlovu: Aliens, described as 'angels' by early settlers, though that was not the case as the 'angels' began to kill a lot of people. Can be referred to as Inds as well. Inds are taller than humans, once full grown. Generally they top off at 9 feet, and can live to 12000 years, though reach their full heights at 6000. They're saurian in appearance, with white scales covering the body, and small, but several yellow eyes, as well as tufts of white fur scattered along the body; such as the neck, head, tail. Sharp, needle like teeth and large feathered wings on their backs, although they only able to 'fly' at 500 year of age, meaning the rest of the time they just glide, or preform short flights.

Hunters: Specially trained to take down Inds. Carry a variety of weaponry, including nets, often to strangle the Ind to prevent it from flying or gliding away. Once trapped in a net, an Ind has a hard time getting out.

THE SETTING: I guess I described this like it was medieval to some, but it's not, it is futuristic; you'd have things like guns and whatnot. it's also sci-fi. I'll be playing as the alien, while I do need a hunter. uuhh i do not have a plan on what to do when we meet aside from the fact there'll probably be a fight. (so this'll dive right into action! fun!) but neither of us will die either. if you have any ideas please let me know, otherwise we'll plan as we go along.

THE RULES

  1. No auto-hitting, but don't dodge everything, either.
  2. Cussing's allowed.
  3. Blood is fine, it will be expected most likely as well.
  4. do not let this die within the first week…..
  5. I would prefer no one liners, as I feel those are difficult to respond to.
  6. Good grammar is always appreciated, but not required.
  7. I notice some people keep brackets I put in my templates. Delete them, as they're only there to explain the function.
  8. This list is probably going to change.

THE TEMPLATE

Opinion on Indlovu: (what do they think of them? fear? interest? hate? neutral? etc etc.)

Name: Rosanna Cornelia Maxwell

Age: 24

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Bisexual

Appearance: https://66.media.tumblr.com/59abd731688309ee54b8571a7f82dbc7/tumblr_p3xxofiRZY1x4c1dio5_250.png

Weaponry: She has the standard weapons of a hunter, gun and all.

Opinion on Indlovu: Rosanna has heard the stories and been told all cautionary tales. But she has never truly met one that matched the description given by her grandfather. She developed an interest early on and is always questioning the norm with these creatures. She has killed a few but she never got the pure evil vibe from them.

Other: She grew up under her grandfather’s care and he was very anti Indlovu. He told different hunting stories every night and even claimed it was these creatures that killed her parents. But the more she dug into the history of the Indlovu, they more she doubt her grandfather. Of course Rosanna never voiced these doubts to him as she hated to see the reaction she got. So she grew up silently spectacle and sometimes joined her grandfather on hunts.

Name: Iren

Age: 513 years of age, or around there.

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Asexual.

Appearance: Iren borrows from the classic Ind appearance; standing at around 6 feet tall instead, as she is not yet fully grown. Her wings made her appear as if she is larger, however; for an Ind, her wingspan is much bigger than normal. She also differs from your average Ind; while her scales may be a white/cream colour, her feathers and fur are more of a light, pale grey.
Aside from that, she looks like your average Ind; saurian appearance, although stands somewhat upright.

Weaponry: The classic Ind stuff - claws, teeth, all that stuff. A little known fact about Inds is that females possess venom in their bites, however it isn’t the venom that kills the prey, usually. The venom is used to drain prey of their energy, so that they’re easier to take care of.
Wings can be used to provide gusts of wind as well.

Opinion on Hunters: Iren definitely has some prejudice against them. However, she’d much rather avoid a fight; although if she is attacked there is no doubt that she will respond. She’s curious, liking to observe them from a safe distance, though in all other cases prefers to avoid them if possible.

Other: Iren left her brood long ago, but that doesn’t excuse her from hanging near other Inds. While Inds are portrayed as solitary creatures (which they were, once) they often group up to defend young and each other, or to share information and such. It was due to human interaction that Inds started grouping up like this.

Iren had perched herself in a tree, watching the road from a distance. It seemed to be quite the popular road, whatever it was - traders, maybe? Iren was more interested in the variety of humans that came through, sometimes stopping for a while, then moving through. The road led to one of the colonies of the planet.

The Ind watched the people walk, before eventually growing bored and rearing back, jumping to another tree. And another. She had no trouble moving throughout the forest, it was almost like second home to her. Small tufts of grey feathers flew to the ground as she moved, eventually stopping at a particularly larger tree.

One that Iren might consider her nest; though her true nest was much further inland than this, of course. The Ind climbed to the top of the tree, expecting this day to be a normal, regular old day as usual. Just staying out of sight, which was relatively easy in this age: rarely did humans wander into the forests anymore.

She laid down a bit high up in the tree, relaxing herself. Although Iren was still awake, it was a nice feeling; the warmth of the sun this morning. And Inds enjoyed the sun, after all; so she decided to take a small break before she begins to look for food.

Rosanna did not know what she was doing here. Well she did but the reason was not good enough for her mind to accept. Apparently could have Inds in it but the hunters didn't know. Hoping to get his granddaughter in a higher standing with the hunter society or whatever, her grandfather volunteered her to scout the area. WHen she asked for the evidence, she wasn't given any. So basically they sent by herself, to wonder a lone street. 'Great plan, guys. No plan or things to look for. Just rumors. Love that.' She thinks bitterly as she continues to walk.

It was a nice day. Warm but not too hot and not a cloud in the sky which means rain is not going to happen for a while. If it was any other day she would have enjoyed it. Maybe take a stroll through town or a forest. But not today. She was irritated and nothing was improving her mood. Suddenly her gun was too heavy, the air was too thick, and Rosanna wanted to strangle the first thing in sight. She wasn't always like this, usually she was welcoming and didn't care for peoples faults. But that kindness was lost ten miles ago and now the girl is bitter.

With her head tilted towards the ground, her eyes caught sight of something. She pauses mid stride and silences her angry muttering. The object was grey which stood out against the green grass it lays against. Stepping towards the object and realized it was… feathers? There wasn't any birds in this area that was this color, that much she knew. Crunching down, Rosanna carefully picks up the feathers not knowing what exactly she was going to do with it.
