(Everything is alright! I don’t know what is going on in your life, so there’s no reason for me to complain or for you to apologize. I’m just glad that we can revisit this idea again. My thanks to you for agreeing to this, especially out in the blue. My only questions would be: Are there any changes or something that you might want to mention before we start? Are you starting? And, Who will your character be this time around?
I filled out the template just so we could both get a refresh on my character, even though I’ll still be using Mayumi. I tried to keep it nice and short but I do have some more development on her. Hehee.)

Brief Appearance : Light pink to white hair(used to be blonde), cut just above her shoulders. Brown eyes. Beauty mark under her right eye. Pale skin. 5’ 5”. Scars on her forearm and collarbone.
Occupation : Immunologist
Weapon / Abilities : Mainly uses a Glock 19, but also owns an M4 Carbine Rifle. Both of which are covered in cute stickers and have sections painted pink.
Personality : A really shy person at first. Not too good with new people or places. Gets scared or embarrassed easily. Very kind when you get to know her. Easily manipulated, due to her being scared of everything. Tries her best. Inside, she doubts herself quite often, and usually blames herself for ‘not doing as much as she could’.
Others : Always has a bow or hair clip on. Likes pinks and cute things. She likes to keep such items around, especially in new places. She finds comfort in the consistency and how they are familiar. Her favourite snack foods are Gingersnaps or almost anything with cinnamon. Goes by Dr. Flowering.

Weapon / Abilities : He uses a short blade of a golden color and a long blade of a silverly color. Has the ability to give other people a healthy boost of energy every now and then.
Personality : Smooth, flirty, kind, has an ‘ice queen’ exterior but is actually quite nice and a warm person all around. Likes to have fun and is loved by many for his enthusiasm from time to time.
Others : He goes by the code of ‘Dr. Aureus’ because of his signature eye color.

As a new day dawns to begin, the busy hospital was finally at a break for a bit after several long operations in several different sectors of the hospital. The night shifts have gone home and now the morning and late shift doctors were coming in; Cassius, being one of the morning shift doctor who work until the beginning of the night.
He was a passionate man, one who loved his job, this a lot of the nurses knew. He’s also a flirtatious man by nature, hence why so many nurses want to work with him. Even then, he’s still very much a single Pringle. A talented one, that is.
His office is located not too far away from the Immunology doctors’ office, and he is good friends with a lot of them. One of them being the ever so adorable and bubbly Dr. Flowering who Cassius liked to hang out with. They even had photos together sometimes. Like usual, the golden eyed doctor came to the Immunology office to look for Mayumi.
Mayumi stared blankly at the sheet of paper in front of her. One hand held a pen, the other, absently grasping her mug. Her tea had gone cold a while ago.
She’d made sure to pick a tea with a good caffeine level, and sort out as much of the repetitive paperwork to do first. She’d even gotten to her office a bit earlier to get a head start. But reviewing and writing on charts and charts of studies was still a pain.
She didn’t want to be seen as slacking off, especially from the after-math of the night. So, she began filing some of the other paperwork.
She turned back to her desk, remembering her lonely tea. Everything had probably separated, and she swished it around in attempt to mix it back together.
Mayumi took a sip of her now-cold tea, and looked to the door as Cassius entered.
Dr. Aureus was very tall and very cool. At least from Mayumi’s point of view.
“G-good morning, Dr. Aureus!”
The taller doctor had smiled at Mayumi and closed the door as he walked in.
“Good morning, Dr. Flowering. I see you’re as hardworking as always,” he said as he came closer to her, his hand holding a cup of coffee. He took a sip of his coffee before looking at the papers she was holding.
“Reviewing old files and reports?” He asked, taking another sip of his coffee as he looked around the mostly empty office. Well, the empty office which only had himself and the adorable immunologist. Normally the other doctors would be here already. At least some of them should be. Hopefully they’ll be here soon. You never know when patients will start flooding in after all.
“Thank you.”
She was used to Cassius showing up at the office, but never prepared for why. She was never one for predicting someone’s action.
“I-I just need to make sure there’s no mistakes. And, I have a lot of paperwork that still needs to be filed …”
She set her tea back down and stood. She didn’t her desk to look so messy when the other staff got here, and she especially couldn’t let herself realize how many papers there were. Rather, that was her excuse she told herself. Really, her hands needed to be kept busy before she embarrassed herself.
“Is there, …there something you need from me?” She asked, glancing up.
The doctor of golden eyes shook his head with a small smile.
“Not that the moment, no,” although he had said that, he was practically looking, rather, scanning Mayumi’s clothes and looks today.
“You look cute today. As always,” he commented before turning away and going back to his coffee. It wasn’t long before some of the other doctors walked in, although that wouldn’t change the situation they were in all that much. Everyone was used to seeing Cassius in their office by now, it wasn’t a surprise to anyone.
Mayumi was swept off her feet. She really was never prepared.
She stood in place, her face slowly heating up. That was all? She was sure Cassius had more important reasons to be here. There had to be more to it.
But Mayumi was left lost for words, and she finally sat back down. Every sound blocked out, except for her own heartbeat.
Her face buried in her hands, and anything she was worrying about had melted down to this sole event.
I’m overthinking aren’t I? Mayumi began to scold herself. It’s just a compliment- is it something I did? Is, is he … interested in me?!
As she only got more lost in overthinking, she took a deep breath.
“Get a grip, Mayumi. This is nothing.”
Cassius had turned when Mayumi spoke out loud those words. He laughed softly and reached out to ruffle the girl’s hair before he turned to the door to see one of his nurses calling him to his office. He sighed and turned to Mayumi. “Seems like I’ll have to go,” he said before offering her that signature warm smile of his, heading to the door. However, before he could leave the room, an alarm went off, indicating an outbreak not too far away from the hospital.
The golden eyed doctor set his coffee cup down on the closest table and just sprinted out. An announcement came after the alarm.
”Attention, Attention. All doctors within the parameters of the hospital please listen. A sudden outbreak of influenza and extreme inflammation has happened four hundred meters down the road. This is not a drill, I repeat, this is not a drill.”
As the announcement ended, Cassius had ran back into the immunology office and took Mayumi’s gun case along with taking her hand. “You’re coming with me. We’re heading there first,” with that, he had took her to where his motorcycle was parked at. Being a doctor’s motorbike, he had a siren attached to the vehicle. He handed Mayumi his helmet, gesturing for her to get on as he placed both of their weapons between his legs, making sure that they wouldn’t fall off.
He was still there?! I should’ve checked before I kept embarrassing myself.
Mayumi was quickly lost back in her thoughts again. But she knew she shouldn’t stay for long, and got up again.
But she flinched as the alarms sounded, and her beating heart only got louder. She stood blankly, listening to the announcement. She needed to move, and turned to her gun case. Yet she hesitated again.
But, Mayumi was very grateful to have Cassius with her. Especially since he could react much faster than her, and that he had thought to come back for her. Her own feet never would move fast enough into action.
She could only let herself be pulled along. Everything was moving too quickly. But she told herself to stop causing so many problems, shoving on the helmet and holding tightly onto Cassius.
As she held onto him, Cassius had shook his head to let his thoughts subside before he started speeding down the road, turning on the siren to let all the cars on the road move away. Eventually, they would reach where the creatures and the ‘patients’ were.
The creatures, Influenza, had bluish slim bodies with multiple thorn-like extensions down their form, round heads with small openings on their cheeks. There were multiple of them, all of them entrapping one human patient each. As for the Inflammation creatures, they were tall creatures were a thin chest, yet an inflamed stomach which made them look all but less healthy. Their red ‘skin’ looked pale and their faces were lifelessly burning to ashes.
Cassius had parked his motorbike not too far away from the scene and had helped Mayumi take off her helmet, setting it in the bike’s basket. “You take care of the Inflammation creatures, they’re slower and easier to kill,” he said quickly, turning to the diseases which threatened to run at the doctors already, as Influenzas do. He smiled and unsheathed his swords. “Although it is not my expertise, these common diseases are nothing—“ with that, he’d rushed at the diseases and had started slashing through the crowd of inhuman creatures. As for the Inflammation creatures, they had slowly turned to Mayumi, maybe weird howl-like noises as they limply try to make their way towards her.
Mayumi took a deep breath to calm herself, and flipped open the gun case.
Her hand hesitated over her rifle, but she threw herself into motion, and slung it over her shoulder. She told herself, Just in case.
The advancing illnesses were getting closer and closer, and she could feel herself freezing up a little more. Ammunition was shoved into her pockets, her handgun loaded, and she fired the first shot. The sound no longer stunned her, the only loud sound she’d ever be used to.
“We deal with the most problematic first,” Mayumi started talking to herself to distract her from her thoughts. “Minimize damage, don’t let bystanders get hurt, keep it safe.”
She fired a short round of bullets, taking down one illness and hitting another. She switched to load her rifle and push back the illnesses.
“Don’t let bullets randomly ricochet, keep the line of fire clean.”
She felt herself daring to look and see how Cassius was doing, but told herself to focus again.
Cassius was still very much focused with the Influenza monstrosities and not so much on the Inflammation creatures. He had managed to dodge most of their attacks, only being claws on his arm which really didn’t hurt all that much. Soon enough, more reinforcements came. He ducked when they started firing at the viruses.
Jeez… I could’ve nearly died there buddies… he thought, watching the viruses fall to the ground one by one.
She felt a bit better, seeing how the she had managed to intercept the illnesses.
She took a glance behind her, but was a moment too late and an illness swatted past her. She tripped, and sunk to her knees. The illnesses were much taller looking now.
She squeezed her eyes shut and shot. The impact causing her to slowly open her eyes again.
“Stay calm.” she said, her voice rising an octave.
Her hands were too shaky to aim, and her distance was closing. She got one knee up to stabilize herself, and lined up her rifle. She just needed to stop them, and she couldn’t give more work to everyone else. The closest went down, then the next. But she could tell her aim was still shaky. She hit a third before needing to reload again.
Her rifle was hit out of her hands, not broken, though not close enough to grab. Part of a bunny sticker was stuck to her finger.
She quickly grabbed her handgun and pointed it to her closest target she had failed to notice.
As the reinforcement officials were still firing away, Cassius had managed to slip through and had appeared again by Mayumi’s side, stabbing the creature that had tried to sneak up on her. “Are you alright?” He asked quickly, sheathing his short blade and leaving his long blade to protect himself and Mayumi.
“Sorry,” she said quietly. “I should’ve been paying better attention.”
She was mad at herself. She was better than this at her job, seeing that she hadn’t been fired. But her aim was so shaky today, and her focus so fazed. She shouldn’t have to rely on others so much.
Cassius had shown at the perfect time, and quickly went to protect herself. A pang in her chest had started to burn itself through. She felt more guilty than mad now.
Her eyes were watering, but she couldn’t cry over something as stupid as this. May wiped the corners of eyes with her sleeves.
She shot the aimed gun, quickly took down the illness. Her aim much better at this distance, and probably from the feeling of safety of having Cassius by her side.
Now that the two doctors were quite literally side by side, the diseases should have no chance against the two. Eventually, after a certain period of time, the diseases within the area were cleared out of existence.
The golden eyed doctor was panting quite furiously, himself sweating quite visibly. He soon cleared his throat and sheathed his blades, turning to the reinforcement research officials to take samples of the diseases as to search for where the disease originated from. With a nod to the officials as they left, he turned back to Mayumi, gently cupping her cheek where she was clawed by one of the monsters.
“Are you alright, Mayu…?”
She let herself rest against Cassius’ touch, despite it stinging the open wound. She was too tired to think about anything other than how she did today.
“I should’ve done better today, sorry.”But everything else about her, told otherwise.
Her guns were still hot, her heart still hammering in her chest, and she could barely catch her breath.
She wanted to let it all out. Today was so off, and for no reason at all. It was even worse that an outbreak had occurred so suddenly too. She wanted reassurance she hadn’t been a drag, she did what she could. She still was useful. But she told herself that was such a selfish thing to ask for.
If she deserved it, she wouldn’t need to ask.
“You’ve done well enough May,” Cassius said with a reassuring tone, sighing softly as he reached to his pocket, finding a plaster and had stuck it on her wound after the medics came to cleanse it with alcohol. He smiled softly and gently rubbed her cheek with his thumb. “Let’s go back to the hospital, yeah? If you’re tired, let’s just curl up somewhere in the office like usual,”
She didn’t want to leave the office how it was, after leaving in a rush. Her mug would be stained too. But she knew there was a tomorrow, and she was too tired to care.
Mayumj nodded to Cassius, “That would be nice …”
She glanced around to her gun case, pulling out her extra sticker sheet. Before returning her guns, she replaced any broken or lost stickers she could find. She’d clean them later.
Mayumi locked up the case and stood it up. But she just rested herself against it instead of standing.
With a nod, the man had pulled Mayumi along back to the motorbike and gently strapped the helmet on the immunologist. He soon got on the vehicle, yawning softly as he attempted to hide the wound he had by the side of his neck. Curse those creatures’ claws.
Mayumi followed after Cassius, getting on the motorbike. Though compared to before, she clung on to him in a more hug-like fashion.
She pressed her un-injured cheek against his back, wanting to fall asleep right away. But the air stung her nose, smelling metallic. She blamed her own injuries, knowing it would be like this time and time again. It wasn’t like whatever those illnesses were made of smelt any better too.
“You know, Cass, I’m really grateful to have you with me,” her voice was heavy with fatigue.
The male doctor sighed softly when she spoke, turning slightly to look at her. “The same can go from me to you, May,” the man said gently placing one of his hands on hers while keeping the other on the bike. Soon enough, they would arrive back at the hospital. The man soon got off the bike and gently took Mayumi off the bike as well. He soon made his way inside, sighing deeply.
